  1. Flicked the headlights at Damageinc (Mitch) on Glynburn road yesterday arvo, I was in the blue Landcruiser (my work car!) going the opposite way, got a thumbs back so I assume I didn't blind you! Spotted a nice 33 in the city on Flinders Street today, think it was a girls car (pink number plate), had a basic kit, some sort of chrome wheels, etc, was parked but looked good.
  2. Bit late but that was me! Should have stopped and said goodaye but was on a bit of a schedule! I will stop next time and see how your cars coming along!
  3. Yeh they will make a loss on this policy which is why Your premium, My premium, Tom, Dick and Harry's premium is high (or higher). They cover themselves by quantity of numbers, eg the number of people they charge $1000 a year, is enough to cover X amount of people writing a car off and having to payout them out, by the time they sell the wreck, even if it is a lot less then the payout, they are covering more of their payout cost. I also agree with your greedy comment! Cheers
  4. Okay so I can't source my own DUCK wing with one built in, looks like I will try and get one made up at the crash repair, hopefully it wont be too expensive$$$ (thanks for the offer of helping make one Craved but logistically it would be easier to give it a shot myself!). In SA I am pretty sure I need a light in it as my mates Silvia got defected and he didn't have a rear spoiler (original ones have a spoiler with a brake light) so they made him install one on the parcel shelf, same scenario as a Skyline I would imagine. I will have to try and source an LED brake light possibly a 34 boot style, I have seen the post in this section about LED brake lights for a 34 so I imagine I will use something like that off Ebay, from Import Monster, etc.
  5. Hi, Trying to source some Type M sideskirts for a S2 R33, would prefer black but any colour will do really. Will pay different amounts depending on colour/condition. Would also like to see them or see a few photos before I purchase them. PM me or SMS Peter 0432340076
  6. I am trying to find a drift wing for my R33 S2 GTS-T (as in the little lip that makes the boot flush with the rear quarter panels not a fast and furious T-wing) that has an in built led rear light (like the stock S2 r33 spoiler). Mainly because legally you need an eye level brake light and I don't want to have to retrofit one to the parcel shelf. I have emailed/asked a lot of suppliers and none have had them or even known about them but I have seen one before, I asked the gentleman where he got it from but he said it came with the car. So if anyone knows where they are available from please post up. If not, I imagine it wouldn't be too hard/expensive for a bodyshop/fibreglass place to modify one to include a brake light? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Nismo Ute Trial R32, I wanted their GTR so badly when I was young, this is the GTSt (?) typical Japanese wheels/bodykit Top Secret R34 GTR, one day! Wall paper material
  8. Yeh I already have them! The option of changing the springs may be a good one down the track depending on availability/cost/plans down the track. Cheers
  9. Hi everyone, just to give everyone an update, I purchased the Greddy Type S suspension and have had them fitted for a little while now. I have had a lot of thoughts about them; - Compared to some other suspension I have seen the the construction quality/parts etc is really good. - They were relatively easy to fit, the instructions were in Japanese but this was only a slight issue when hooking up the electric motors. - The ride; now previously my car had stock suspension with HKS springs, I would still think this is optimum for a daily driver in terms of comfort (the springs must have been softer then the coil overs) but obviously handling is a lot better with the coil overs (along with associated benefits such as lower rider height, etc.) - I could live with coil overs for a daily easily if the majority of my driving was on smooth/new roads however if you drive on old/bumpy roads it definitely can get tiring quickly being bumped and jarred. - The electric motors/dampening adjust are a definite plus and do make a noticeable difference, its not a huge gain that's blindingly obvious but it is there. - I havent tracked this suspension as this is not my aim for the car but even normal street driving around corners and roundabouts the cornering and feel has improved. I would recommend these units to anyone looking for coilovers.
  10. Get into the mountain biking, (all types, mainly down hill or just blasting trails with my mates). I appreciate most cycling anyway though, did anyone go the BMX world Champs in Adelaide this weekend just gone? I was keen as but didn't realise the main action was on Saturday not Sunday! Maybe SAU SA ride day sometime? See how many people are keen and what everyone gets up to. Here are two of my rides; Downhill; Standard Modified DJ/short travel duallie; I also dig this photo have it on my phone (always makes me grin/appreciate when I look at my toys!);
  11. Hi, I didn't want to post this in the DIY as it is a question but wasn't sure where it should go. In relation to this tutorial here; http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sw...Ii-t209903.html About making and fitting a Profec B-spec II hi/low switch, I was just wondering would it be possible to use a missile switch, i.e. one that is either on or off (or in this case one would be hi and one low?). The reason i ask is; A) I already have a redundant missile switch in the dash courtesy of the old owner and B) Then you would know whether your in high/low just by looking (rather then boosting to find out!) because I am going to mount the controller in the glove box/out of view and access. I have been told it needs to be a momentary style switch but I haven't been able to get a definite confirmation. If anyone knows how to do this, if it is possible, I would appreciate if they posted up instructions as I am not electronically savy enough to figure it out myself! Cheers
  12. Ok, I haven't come across that comment/issue yet in regards to the height, interesting. At the moment I don't plan to track the car, maybe in the future but not at the moment and even if I did the majority of driving would still be done on the road so that would be more important to me then flat out circuit performance. I appreciate the input.
  13. Yeh I know of a 35 GTR being driven by someone on their P's, Daddy bought it (apparently just because they are cool so the dad had have one, also owns HSV W427, etc Car broad minded person but not coz he wants them but other people think they are cool so he better get one!)
  14. Ok, fair enough I see them similar in that they are both a street biased suspension system, the Greddys are more expensive and I guess this is reflected with the base adjust, etc on the Greddys. More positive feedback as well for the Teins which is per usual. Appreciate everyone comments I will be making my decision soon and let everyone know how I go.
  15. Hi, appreciate your comments, I would be looking at the JDM version of the Teins, I do get mixed answers about how much firmer the springs are, I thought the JDM was 4kg front and rear with diffferent valving to the Aus model which also uses 4 and 4 but I am unsure? I have been on the Fulcrum website to get more info about the Aus model and i cant find the info on it i require! The Greddys appear to be 6kg and 8kg F and R. The main problem/issue I have come across for both units is seizing/motor issues for the dampening control but those who get it working rave about it! Yeh I do have stock suspension at the moment (apparently with HKS springs but I havent been able to verify that yet, I dont think theya re as I can see any markings on them!). Thanks again. Anyone else add to these comments?
  16. Hi all, looking for opinions (preferably from people that own/use either of these models) on either Tein Super Streets with the EDFC or Greddy Type S with the Greddy Controller. Basically I have the option of getting either with the Greddy's being ~$500 cheaper. I have an S2 R33 and it is my daily. I only use it on the street, maybe track work eventually but that is not my focus at the moment. I have done a search and all the info I have been able to find about the Greddy's is good but there is not as much info/opinion as the Teins so if anyone has any more current feedback on either but specifically the Greddy's I would appreciate it. They both appear to meet my needs and I am leaning towards the Greddy's because they are cheaper but I imagine there would be better back up/servicing on the Teins? Other then that I am not sure? Here is the link for the Greddys. http://www.greddy.com/products/display/?Ca...p;SubCategory=8 Cheers
  17. Good tutorial, just wondering would it be possible to use a missile switch, i.e. one that is either on or off (or in this case one would be hi and one low?). The reason i ask is; A) I already have a redundant missile switch in the dash courtesy of the old owner and B) Then you would know whether your in high/low just by looking (rather then boosting to find out!) because I am going to mount the controller in the glove box. 18. I think technically the battery is supposed to have a vent valve sort of arrangement that plugs into a rubber hose that exits out the bottom of the boot. Problem is these are $300+ so I doubt you will see many 33's with them, for mine I grabbed one that was about $150 (got a good price) and its semi sealed ( better then your average cheapy but doesnt have the connection for the vent pipe). I didnt realise the boot battery was vented but if you hunt around you should find the pipe/hose I am talking about. Talk to a battery expert, I talked to an aquaintance and he filled me in on the legalities, etc
  19. Spotted: Some Fairlane trying to drag me at 6.20am on my way to work today. A nice black series 1 33 with a BN? kit, FMIC, wheels, etc heading south on Lonsdale Road about 7.45am? Driver wearing High Vis also spotted RBS 260? Black stag with 34 GTR wheels heading south on Lonsdale road about 8.30am? Again driver wearing High Vis, both nice cars Then out north I saw a VT Calais with the number plate VTEEZN, had a bit of a chuckle, the chick driving looked alright though.
  20. Mate bought it, has some plans for it, I wont spoil his fun by divulging them here we will just have to wait and see... Spotted a pinky/salmon coloured r34, with chromies and a bodykit similar to the one featured on the r34 in the Fast and the Furious 2 on Main South road about 8.30am. Spotted PRIME 34, white r34 GT-T, wheels, bodykit, transformer sticker on the boot on Glen Osmond about 3.30pm
  21. Black/charcoal r35 GTR parked sitting at a cafe on corner Greenhill & Glynburn about 1pm, front seat was tilted over like there had been passengers in the back! Hell of a back seat ride that would be!
  22. R35 GTR! Wow makes everything else seem a little less.....average. Greenhill Road yesterday morning, charcoal grey, not a Willall car, the owner has plenty of beautiful cars. Gave him a wave, he knew it!
  23. Thanks everyone, I tried a few of the places initially listed (Motortraders and Adelaide tyre power, both these places didn't have them in stock). Japanese Motorsport had Nismo 50mm and 60mm studs in stock so I got the front 10 in the 60mm length for $99 (this was the best price I got quoted, probably because they actually had them in stock and weren't a special order?!). Thanks for your help.
  24. Cool thanks for the help guys, I will try some of these places tomorrow hopefully. Feel free to post anymore. Cheers
  25. Hi everyone, I am trying to chase some longer wheel studs for the front of my 97 R33 Series 2 skyline but all the mainstream places I have tried (repco, sprints, etc.) either don't have them or can get them but it seems like an over inflated price ($10 per stud plus freight, i.e over $100 for the front wheels!). Someone told me Wheelworx have them? If anyone knows of places please list them so I can give them a buzz and find out. It would be a bonus if the place actually had some idea about performance cars as I did have a few questions as well. Finally, I recall reading Nissan Patrol studs are suitable as they are longer but the correct width can anyone confirm this? Any help would be appreciated! Cheers
