  1. guys i really don't drive my car often, but today when i was driving for the first time in about a week, i gave it a nice boot. I very rarely hit the limiter in it, but today i felt like it was cutting out at for like 0.5 sec @ 5k RPM (like a limiter kicking in) and then continues to go after that to 7k rpm (but it feels like the car is struggling). Then like 10 minutes later it was fine. Then once again, limiting 20min later wtf? Any ideas wat this could be- Miss fire? i have done a search- spark plugs or coils seems to be the answer? Does this sound like missfire? not sure wat it is, cause i have never had any problems with the beast (never, only when i put the BOV on for 2 days lol). Wats the difference b/w pining? Look forward to hearing your input
  2. Leaving the SAU club! Good luck with the sale. Anyone looking for a clean skyline with no 2 dollar cheap modifications, this one is definately worth looking at. I would have to say that this is the best gear box in a r33 i have ever driven- meaning it has been granny driven Looks clean!
  3. mate sounds like it would be cheaper (50-100 bucks) and get it checked on the dyno! sounds like u are pouring money into your car without finding the problem. On the forumns you can get pretty good opinions, and some pretty bad ones (NOT POINTING AT ANYONE DIRECTLY). Good that you are changing all these things- but its over kill. I would be one to say thats its the coil pack- but since you changed it dw! Good luck and hope that u fix your problem!
  4. mate 300v is over kill of an n/a! u have to change it every 5km cause it breaks down so quickly (ester oils) it u don't wanna use turbo light use the 5w-40 stuff from motul, about 75bucks

  7. Boys that is correct! Bought the 12mm first so a another trip to pedders lol the part number u need is pte926-14. $70 for 2! Skyline r33 turbo- s 1 but I doubt that makes a difference which s it is!
  8. Mate I honestly feel your pain...... Until yesterday! Got a new set of tyres fitted and it drives dead straight! Check the condition of your tyres!! Mine had plenty of meat on them but the rubber was just really old! Side walls and everything were saggingy! Having said that rather than spending 400 now on tyres borrow a mates set of tyres! And see if that helps, cause u don't wanna spend another 400 for nothing- ensure your tyres are correctly balanced!

  11. Probably cause your ecu is trying to protect the motor! Stock turbo can't go past 13, at 14 it will blow the turbo. U got a pretty cheap controller? hence the spikes! Probably run a few more mod- cooler and turbo back exhaust if u wanna run more than 10, then your ecu needs to be changed or remapped. U will find the highest boost on redline gear 3!
  12. yer sweet as i ran into it earlier today- there is a post here about how much oil in an r33 , and its a link lol Yer i think that is factory 7.5w-30, so there is a slight pressure increase plus the aging of the motor (haven't seen a car idle on 1 before lol) and this is weather dependent- japs don't have the heat! As well as the accuracy of the actual guage itself!
  13. i think that idle could be a bit lower though- personal i think that it should be around the first line. I mean not to over worried though cause i understand that the guage could be slightly out too, but i always do an oil change every 5k doesn't burn much oil at all!
  14. Just a bit of a quick one, wat oil pressure should a stockish r33 be running- 10w 40 turbolight. Factory specs (using 7.5w-30) are idle-1 2000rpm-3.5 6000-5.6 I would say my car (Warm temp, operating!!) idle 2-3ish (closer to 3 i would say ) 2000rpm-4ish 6000-6ish Would an oil flush with the next oil change help?? Motor is generally really well looked after, and runs really healthy!

  16. hi all, i think that all the different tie rod ends need to be listed for each skyline (32,33,34)! I have done search and the same question question has come up many times, and once the owners resolve them they don't bother updating the thread to help the others lol I just took my tie rods off and gave them to pedders to measure up, Once i confirm they fit and everything is correct i will update this tread accordingly. People should do the same! and then create this as a sticky! i can see that on the first 3 pages this question is raised twice! and search has many pages
  17. is that 3k for just the motor or does it come with a 5sp? is the motor freshly rebuilt?
  18. mate no change 200 labour i paid 80 for mine. bought adjustable caster rod bushes (ON CAR) from whiteline 180. With an allignement (only the front needed it) 300 all up u gotta shop around, the car feels SOOO much better. i would also look at your tie rod ends cause my car was pulling due to the tie rods been to warn down/slight split (bought them from pedders $70 for both, and fitted it myself- save on the double allignment costs )

  20. I'm after new tie rod ends Series 1 R33 GTs-t. I went to pedders to get them (much cheaper than Nissan) but turns out there are three different versions carried by pedders for the R33. Versions differ regarding the thread type and thread length: 12mm thread 95mm long 12mm thread 101mm long 14mm thread 101mm long Does anyone has any idea which model version I'm looking for?
