  1. So I just want to check. You started a thread to see if you were the only one that drove your car, normal, in normal situations, such as driving to work? Just thought I'd check.
  2. In qld they are illegal.
  3. Thanks fellas. I dont disagree with what they did at all. I mean they cant be liable, so from their business's point of view its the right thing. My question was more so why he said they were illegal and a problem, Id never heard of the movement issue before.
  4. I hate all limos. They are unsafe, and they always destroy the lines of the car.
  5. Hi all. Make a long story short. Basically I just got new tyres, tyre guy said all he was going to put on the form was he sold me tyres, and didnt fit them due to my having wheel spacers. So I asked him why are they a problem, his reply... "Because the spacer its self can move and loosen the wheel nuts." That and the obvious hub centering an loading thing. Now I can understand this being true with the cheap nasty slip on spacers. However if you click the below link, thats my old cheap nasty spacers, and my new shiny custom made ones, to fit my hub, and my wheel. I had to use a rubber mallet to put these on the car. He STILL seemed to think this was an issue. Obviously its in his best interests for me to have a problem because then he can sell me new wheels. That said I do understand they are still illegal, and obviously for a reason. Basically how worried should I really be? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=2432648
  6. That, or something really did go through it..?
  7. Well I have had 3 set ups. First one was just WAY too stiff. And WAY too stiff is still softer than 10kg springs. They were the shocks that came in the car when I got it, were kei office. Keep in mind too, my car being a cef has mcpherson struts, and can handle a bit harder spring, just the way it all works. Anyway, 2 of those 3 set ups were using the exact same springs with no other changes other than going from a custom made shock (made by what was a reputable suspension shop (not a franchise) which was made to suit the car, spring, swaybars, aust roads etc) to a SK bilstein. I can tell you now, by FAR the bilsteins are the better shock. Its more so the little things. I mean you can hit a cats eye on the road and its smooth. This is with the EXACT same wheel alinement etc as the previous custom made shocks, with the EXACT same springs. It seriously is light and day. Where I think lap times might be dropping could be partly #1 practise, #2 with practise you feel more confident, #3 you really just arent pushing that hard to notice how much better it could be. That or you are so damn good you could go round just as fast with solid steel struts. But hey, your money. I know where I would have rathered of spent my money once.
  8. Its clean and all. But to me, the interior shot where you can see the odometre, Im 99% sure I can read a 14X XXXkms... So its got a few ks on it. That and look at the handbrake boot, just around the top, and the intercooler. Still fairly clean tho.
  9. What year model/shape merc was it?
  10. Yeah, from memory thats the 20b one? Also from memory its because they bolt up fairly easy, just the way the gearboxes are or something. I guess we could start saying then, whats the point in cars? Bikes are faster, smaller, cause less congestion, are cheaper to buy and cheaper on fuel and rego.
  11. Not meant to be, but shocks you when it does. Which is the whole point. As you say tho, dont make it right!
  12. And 12x75 isnt far off $1k... also double check that includeds a comprehensive wheel alinement too. Because if you add that in it prob would throw it over the $1k mark. If you are unsure just ring up some other places, ask them what they think. Maybe even hit the place your going to for a fixed rate install?
  13. Yeah I did. I didnt see the lines from the foria.
  14. You me both! If only kidneys grew back! I was just mucking about with the ad comment, yes well written, and a good story, how could you not give them a plug after all that.
  15. Haha, there are a few fast mercs getting about hey, sleeper effect, with a bit of style, who is going to pull over a 230d merc or whatever they are. The Saabs were turbo stock and quite fast and resonably well built cars, so once again, why not? Who is going to pull it over. I mean they are like a volvo, just the owner is more likely to be a lawyer or doctor, so the cops will leave them alone. And you sure it was a 13b turbo in the kombi? Cause there is one kicking about with a 20b in it.
  16. www.google.com.au + nye dreamword + click on I'm feelin' lucky! = http://www.dreamworld.com.au/content/special.asp?name=NYE Im not going tho, I dont like the other bands at all. I'd rather spend my money on nightrider again.
  17. Just don't play it backwards around your Nanna, she might get upset.
  18. Is this an ad? HAHA! Nice tho, very nice. You are one lucky bugger thats for sure.
  19. Yeah I saw that on the news yesterday about 20times. One of the storys I heard was it was at some cattle muster or something like that, and they were asked to put on a show. I guess where they slipped up was not asking for permission. But if I was someone from out there, that would be heaps cool.
  20. I think it looks ok. Seems most people have this perception on what the car should look like. Also keep in mind if its to be released in 2-3 years time... They have to be thinking where things are going to be at then, not now. Either way it looks 100% better than this... http://www.motorauthority.com/cars/nissan/...sx-replacement/
  21. I think we have already reached peak skyline. By the year 2020 we are going to be in dire straights!
  22. First year I haven't been. I spent all day in bed with a temperature, which sucked hardcore. Seems like it was a good day. Cant wait for a few pics to come up.
  23. Well lets look back a wee bit. Both cars nothing new that Nissan has ENTIRELY come up with themselfs. I mean, forms of the attessa system had already been around, 4ws nothing new , twin turbos nothing new, etc etc so thats the R32 out of the way. Sure it was a great car and that. Then this new thing. Same deal, whats that new about it? I mean for nissan its probably a big step forward, but they got the frenchies involved now. No doubt if it does well you will see a frenchie version come out fairly shortly after. Once again, not saying its a bad car, but I think by the time it actually gets out here its value for money isnt going to be all that good. My oppinion at least.
  24. Umm, just do the ring around. It couldnt be cheaper to drive down to Sydney and back.
  25. Based on that theory tho you would be doing Mach5 by the end of the race
