  1. If they are as dodgy as you say... I'd be checking the pads are bedded in correctly. They have put on backing plates and wear indicators correctly. Id also check that your brake disk stone shelds aren't bent and rubbing on the disk etc. Also as above check out all the other stuff.
  2. LoL yeah. It rains, you get wet
  3. LoL, if you just got your tickets. You just paid too much. 10 points for early bird tickets! But yeah, my list is. NIN, Dillinger Escape Plan, 36 Crazyfists, DevilDriver, Underoath, Everytime I Die, Lamb of God, In Flames, Funeral for a Friend, Poison the Well, Unearth, and In This Moment, cause the chick has really big tits. I really can't wait!
  4. Up you go again. Spotters fee = carton of a nice beer, your choice even! I want a bike, and dad wants his patio back for the summer. So this HAS to go. Call me, make a fair offer. Everyone knows this is the cleanest ceffy getting about. So just buy it!
  5. I'll give a carton of premium beer as a spotters fee if it goes! Come on people. I'd like to buy a bike. This needs to go ASAP! Offer away!
  6. For an amp it will do the job. Really you can get a cd player and speakers for $200 if you REALLY want (put that in my sisters old car and it actually sounded ok for $200), and the max you can spend is endless. You really need to set yourself a workable budget, as said $1k aint enough. All my head decks have been over that alone... So HU, Id allow $400-600 (top alpine deck is like $600 now, and they are the bees knees). Gets you something with some tuneablity etc. Just don't get a motorised face. They break. Speakers, well thats up to you. But $200-300 should get you something ok, far from great. Push it up if you can though. $400-500 will push you up a level. Amp, get something to match the speakers. As in power and quality wise. Then install... Now yes you can get a mate to do it. Or you could pay a professional to do it (ie, not some bloke at autobarn or wow (and yes I know some of these places DO have good installers, but the best are at the best shops)). I personally will always get the pro's to do it. They won't break clips pulling stuff off, you will get a proper warrenty, you build up a better repore at the shop, so if stuff does go wrong, its easier to fix. Really depends what you spend.
  7. I'll rock up to Aspley say hi to all the old peeps and make my yearly donation. The cef needs a run anyway! BTW, my dad has prostate cancer, and the tests from that he was also diagnosed with lung cancer. (lung cancer is gone, chemo is way hardcore tho, and the prostate is very treatable). It really doesn't get the publicity it should, its just as big of a killer as breast cancer (not saying breast cancer is any less important...). Early dection is just so easy and it then becomes very curable or at least managable. Some people might not realise but by having your prostate removed some of the complications can be loosing your manhood (ie ability to get an errection), obviously can't have kids anymore either. And its typically a very agressive cancer, and therefore needs quick attention. So sometimes the decission to opperate is very difficult. Especially when you need to carry round a weebag for up to a few months. Sorry to be quite blunt, but I really don't think that people realise exactly what its all about. So good on you SAU!!!
  8. I doubt you will get Focals and a decent deck for $1k installed. Hell I spent $2k on a sub and amp... Lets scrap that, you won't get a good set of splits, and a decent deck for $1k installed with some sound deadening (because you HAVE to sound deaden). You really should get an amp for the speakers too. That said, my idea and your idea of decent could be two very different things. I do listen to the same music tho. If you have something harsh your ears will hate you. If you already have stocko speakers just leave them in the rear. You don't go see a band and have your back to them. Music should be in front of you. It will save you some money to get some better gear.
  9. Don't forget a bag of day after pills. Just drop them in their glass of water on your way out. You'll be fine! And do Dreamworld. Its got some pretty hardcore rides. If you can afford it and hang around later, go flowrider at NIGHT time. You get the whole wave, and can do stand up. Its a blast. Also, get trashed at lunch time and go do that infintity thing in Surfers. Thats worth a laugh too. Pretty trippy. If you do it at night you might freak out too much when you come outside :-P
  10. I am getting it (as in the Jetta) This and these I think Santa should buy my Cefiro. Its red, all matches, big boot to put the pressies in.
  11. Up you go again! Needs to go, summer is coming and dad wants his patio back! Want it call me, give me your offer. All I'm going to do is tell you to go away if its too low.
  12. Funny tho, Mitsu bring out a rally art awd turbo hatch back... Maybe there is something in this hatch thing. Also, seriously, what cars do look good these days under $100k?
  13. I've done the gone the wrong way one. Once and once only. Drove to the ex's place, meaning to go to the new Gfs house. Didn't realise until I knocked on the door, it clicked, and I scampered! You never do that again. With everything else I'm a defencive driving instructor, so I'm super anal about pretty much everything.
  14. That or get new arms not just the rubbers...
  15. That or deny the finance, and get a loan through someone else so you can get what you want?
  16. Fair comment. 200kms is very realistic for the age of the car, and realisic for most cefiros. If they are under I dare say the kms won't be 100% correct. Most of what I have put on it has been easy highway kms. I know most people say that, but for me it really has been. Price is on the high side. But seriously there aren't many cefiros this clean, or with the quality mods. It isnt some ebay race car is basically what I'm saying. You do pay for what you get. And I don't want to pull the car apart sorry.
  17. $13 500. Rego due very soon. Buy before then and get a stella price! After Nov will have 6months rego back on it.
  18. $13 500!!! Which is close enough to the cost of rego. So if you buy it before I have to pay it I'll be fairly flexible on price. After that, it will have 6months on it.
  19. If you think the GTI is slow, just chip it :-p Ditto with the diesels really. And yeah, they all have launch control. From what the VW forum guys have said its turn ESP off, put it in either manual or sport, foot on brake, foot on accelerator, take your foot off the brake and away you go!
  20. I've got a Jetta TSI, which only comes with the DSG box. It deadset sold me on the car. $40k for a sedan with everything on it, a boot bigger than everything other than an Aurion (which is a much bigger car) 8l per 100kms. And it is deadset smoother than silk. First time I've taken everyone for a drive in it, I've got to 60kmh, and told them its in 6th gear. They just don't believe it. Hell I cant even feel the changes and I'm driving it! 8ms changes. Auto when you want, manual when you want. Sport when you want manual but you are being lazy. Also, you can now for about $1k get the flappy paddle wheel for all the VW models. Which is a handy feature, as you can just flick it down a few gears, do what you need to, then after a set time it will go back to auto mode by itself. I think the only VWs that still run normal autos are the base base models. But with the MK6 coming out they will all be DSG, and 7 speed options. Also correct me if I am wrong, but I dont think the Ferraris are running dual clutch boxes yet, I think they just have a REALLY good hydrolic set up with a single. The new new models might tho. In a word, its the way of the future, they are the greatest thing ever.
  21. Hey Dave, Only saw this last night, sent you a PM anyway. But give me a call. Don't have THAT much time on the net anymore. Also interior is good given its age
  22. Up you go my pretty! Rego is up in November, would be obviously pretty happy to sell before then. Make an offer. Happy to pull some stereo out to reduce cost, and or pull out R32 wheels if need be to make the deal work.
  23. Yeah, I've always found the Browns Plains store really helpful. If they don't know they have always been pretty honest with me. Other than one bloke in car audio. But I only go to Northfield Moorooka now anyway... And to the guy with the Tezza... What in gods name were you thinking even driving anywhere near a suburb that has an Autobarn!!!
  24. Which store is that tho? Because I have found some stores to be better than others.
  25. I would look at Red Stuff pads as well, I have them on the cef and I feel they are awesome, very little brake dust as well. But either way there isnt really anything wrong with the ultimates. As above check your rotors, and maybe rebed them in.
