Time for new tyres again for me. ATM have dunlop SP9000s on the front, and SP Sport Maxx on the rear. F215/45/17, R235/45/17. Very happy with them, just as tyres do, they run out. Went down to the local bobjane, told them my little story about how I like my tyres. As always though I ask what else is in that range that might be any good. So he tells me about these perelli PZero Dragon's, which are about $75 cheap per corner than the sport maxx. So anyone used them, are they any good?

I've had 3 different set ups in my car (88 cefiro). 1st when it came from japan, it has kei office adj coilovers, with 450lb front springs, and 350lb rears, it was stupid, they eventually leaked, so I got them rebuilt. The rebuild had the rear springs go to the front, and I bought some new rear springs. So this gave it 350lb fronts, 200lb rears, and shocks revalved (no longer adjustable) to suit those springs, this was a massive improvement over the kei office orginals. I then had 3 of those 4 rebuilt shocks die in less than 12months. Which is when Sydney Kid got a call, explained whats good, what isnt and why. I've now got the bilsteins in (with the 350&200lb springs) and the again was MILES better. As in the ride was smoother, the car felt more stable, and its definately quicker around corners. Seriously, just spend the money once, and buy the good stuff, get spring rates that suits the car. If you dont want roll, get thicker anti sway bars.

So how much are these things? Because from experience I gotta say, if you can hold off another few months and save a bit more money to get a better product its well worth the wait.

Seems a lot of people don't understand what CTP is (the C being compuslary) It covers you if you injure or kill a 3rd party person, and you ONLY have this insurance if your car is has rego. So say you were telling a furfy, but Mr & Mrs police officer beleived you. You then proceeded to drive around and run a pedestrian over. You have no insurance, so that person will need to sue you to be compensated for their injurys which you caused, if you have no money, they dont get compensation, you get in a lot more trouble. Really, makes sense...

Driving lights and fog lights are the same thing. They are illegal unless as stated above it is foggy, or poor conditions such as rain, snow etc. You can and should get booked for them being on. HOWEVER, it is proven fact it is safer to be driving around with your HEADLIGHTS ON (which should be correctly aimed, you can also receive a defect for that...) Other cars, and road users can see you far easier, and from futher away with them on.

I though it was worked out a while ago that the stock gtr sway bar option was almost a waste of money because it really wasnt that much bigger or better than a stock bar.

Really, it shouldnt cost you more than $120 you being in QLD. When I had my rb25 box put in, the standard mount was moved backwards. I had that engineered and mod plated, cost $120. I cant see a lock bar being too much different to that for an engineer to look at and plate.

Also dont forget it is how the power is delivered, and also torque. Those HSVs are quick through the whole rev range, and thats a fair wack of grunt.

What he forgot to mention is the engine is about 2.7L... If that changes which turbo to go for or not I dont know. But its handy to have some specs on the engine.

That and if it hasnt been done for a while get the calipers rebuilt. It makes a difference.

But really, its not how its meant to work, and your gearbox is shagged, its time to look at getting it fixed as all you are doing is masking the problem.

People still go cruising? I guess tho, it is a bit difficult to rectify a defect with your car in impound... Btw, I have a bright red cefiro, which used to have a VERY loud exaust, pics and mod list on most forums, and I have in 3.5years been pulled over a TOTAL of 3 times. Once I was not paying attention and was speeding, got a fine, they had a quick look under the bonnet, and told me my exaust was a bit nosiy. Another time I was being silly. And once for an RBT. I used to go cruising with 'the group' for a good 2years of that 3.5 years. Seriously if you say its about not being stupid, its just cops hate imports. Wake up, it just isnt. Its about your additude on the road, and going to places where you are going to get done.

I work for one of these companys. You'll be right to do the course. That said, if you have an accident in your manual car, with an auto licence. You are going to be RS. You wont have insurance, the cops will come down hard on you etc. Also as you technically have your manual lerners (simply by holding an auto licence) I am pretty sure you should also be displaying L plates, AND have a fully licenced driver with you, WITH a BAL of 0 (in which case the passenger could get fined). So just keep that in the back of your head.

To start off with, that is EXTREAMLY difficult to read. Sports model camrys etc dont have anymore power than standard. New camrys are also only 2.4l 4cyls now. The old sportivo v6s really werent that quick either. Either way, I'm sure he did know you had a new dump pipe fitted. Hence he would have SURELY got a supercharger or something fitted specifically just to scare you a bit.

Not really knowing any of those tuners, and what ecus they are used to tuning. But if it were my money, I would want to go to the tuner that has the most knowledge/best in tuning motec m800 ecus. Not the one that knows gtr's the best... But, thats just my opinion.

Really tho, compair them to say a GT falcon, and look how much they are selling for! Even $20k for a fancy pants corolla is fairly cheap compaired to some of the GT and torry prices. As thats all they are, a japanese GT falcon. (not in the sense of the car, but what they mean to people)

Given you cant have a turbo... Why spend the money? Spend like $5k, get something ok. The other $8k in some term deposit. Make 6-8% on that over the next 3 years plus whatever else you save. Then get something REALLY nice when your off your Ps. I would say thats a wee bit more logical.
