  1. Dead set have you guys got your x-ray vision goggles on or something? How can you tell properly what it looks like from those pictures? Especially given its meant to be a 2011 model car...
  2. That is why most people buy cars of that value tho isnt it. I mean if you wanted a cheese box to take you from a-b you buy the cheapest car to run that services your needs. When you have the money to buy these types of high end cars, you want it to make you feel something the others dont. Mr Clarkson dosnt like it because it doesnt kick the rear out and hold it there, because its been designed to go fast. Others like that.
  3. Looks like it ran in to a zebra if you ask me.

  9. Hi all. Anyone on here a Taxation Accountant? Just after some advice about buying a new car, and what I can and can't claim back on tax, and what lease/hire purchase agreement thingo would be best to sign up to. Obvioulsy I'd pay in one shape or another, however you chose. Only intersted in actually fully fleged accountants tho, not people who think they are really handy with tax. Either flick me a PM, or reply on this. Thanks heaps!

  14. Make: Nissan Model: CA31 Cefiro - 1988 - Factory manual turbo Milage: approx 200 000kms Transmission: RB25 Manual Colour: Fire eingine Red Location: South of Brisbane Complied?: Yes Nov 2003 RWC supplied?: Not as yet Currently registered?: Yes until Nov 2008 Price: $17 000 - NEGOTIABLE please call to discuss Contact: Via PM, Email (this_isnt_who_u_think@hotmail.com) or mobile 0413 669 330 PLEASE CALL Comments / Modifications: Time to let the red beast go after 4.5 years of ownership. List of all the mods I can think of below. As you will all see it is extensively and expensively modified. Basically the vast majority of mods on it, I got the best I could find. Never been drifted since being in Australia, only done one track day, and 2 drag days, rand a flat 14s at the strip, would be faster now with chip and R34 cooler. Track day was at Morgan Park, was catching an R32 golf under brakes, acceleration and cornering. Its quite quick. I just drive the car to work and back, most of the kms are highway. Always serviced by myself, only used motol turbo lite, or 8100 oil. Done less than every 5000kms, any other servicing done by a professional. Only ever been pulled over twice (other than booze buses) in the 4.5 years I have owned it. The car looks standard, you don’t attract unwanted notice. Yet people still ask what it is. Engine: RB20DET – its out of an R32, so its newer, different cams, and has a factory BOV, approx 20 000kms less than the car. 2nd 100k km service was done not long ago, all belts etc done. Mods: Rising rate fuel pressure regulator, with pressure gauge. R34 side mount intercooler. This is completely hidden, and is installed in to the factory side mount pipes. So it looks standard. Much larger than standard and was a notable difference in performance once installed. HKS EVC4 electronic boost controller. Dr Drift chip. See attached dyno graph for how good the curve and AFRs are. 3inch exhaust, with cat and 2x mufflers. Sits at 84db at 4000rpm (see attached graph) which is the testing point, and well below the legal limit. Externally: Standard factory bumpers, front updated, with working corner lamps. 17” Stern wheels, custom colour. NEVER seen a set of these in this colour ever before. Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres all round. 235/45/17s rear, 215/45/17s front. Good tread left, there is about $1100 worth of tyres there. Slimline weather shields Updated front and rear lights Updated grill All bumper strips removed Autech side skirts Factory optioned front lip (not installed, damaged) Red paint (duhh) Brand new windscreen. Internally: R33 front seats, better support etc than standard Cefiro items. Aftermarket sports steering wheel Up spec’ed interior, not the horrible tweed. All interior small things, ie carpeted spare wheel cover, etc. All in fairly good nick. ICE: Brand new eclipse 7100 head deck. This is the bees knees deck, if it hasn’t got it you don’t need it, and half the stuff it does have you don’t need. Approx 3 years left of warranty on this MB Quart front splits, with extensive sound deadening to front doors. See attached pictures. JL 10” subwoofer. 2chan cadence amp 2chan bridged coustic amp All quality wiring, all professionally installed. No rear speakers, but standard rear speaker covers will be installed. Full alarm and 3 point immobilizer. Drive train: RB25 gearbox, engineered with mod plate. Jim Berry Race Clutch – Full monty clutch 3600 lb Nismo pressure plate, modified by Jim Berry to have softer pedal feel. Single piece tail shaft custom made with gearbox conversion. 2way diff New master and slave cyls Braided clutch line Redline gearbox oil Suspension/brakes: Sydney Kid edition – Custom Bilstein shock absorbers. These cost a LOT of money and time, just ask Gary. The front shocks are in the original Kei Office coilover casings, so these are fully height adjustable. Rears are in the Bilstein coilover casings, thus are also fully height adjustable. Has been all corner balanced. Handles like a cat on carpet. SK modified Nolathan camber/caster tops. Front adjustable castor arms. 30mm solid front sway bar 27mm solid rear sway bar Front strut brace Alloy rear pineapples Hicas lock bar, and all lines removed R32 brakes, and 5 stud conversion, all braided lines. Front calipers rebuilt. Motol RBF600 fluid. Master cyl rebuilt. DBA slotted front rotors, DBA standard rears. EBC Red stuff pads on the front, and the good Lucas pads on the rear (can’t remember exact name) Extras : All the stereo gear I have that isn’t in the car. Its not much but I don’t have a use for it. Set of R32 wheels, with legal tyres. Few spare interior bits, including a full set of the slim line weather shields. Set of 450lb coilover springs. Anything else that’s laying around car related that I don’t want. Sorry for the long ad, but the car does mean a lot to me, and it is going to be hard to let it go. It’s just wasted on me as I never have the time to get it out to the track. NO SWAPS AT ALL. Images: Some pics still to come - dyno & exaust db graphs, plus some interior shots.
  15. Hi everyone. I assume this is the correct place for this. I am looking at a new car, so far I have narrowed it down to the following. All sit around the same age (2001-2004) cost about the same ($20k) I basically want to know peoples oppinions who have owned or, or at least driven one. In particular problems with the car. All would be manual, I really cant drive autos and feel 100% safe. 4th gen VW golf GTi - from what I can find out so far, not a true GTi, but a damn good car if you can ignore that GTi badge. B6 Audi A4 - seen a couple of 1.8L turbo quattros, but probably would end up with a 2L manual, as they have less kms on them. VW Bora V6 4motion - full of luxo stuff, seem fairly cheap for what they are. Were the fastest VW in Aust when they came out here. With the added safety etc of the 4 motion. That and a bit more boot than the golf. All have their pros and cons, as above just interested in peoples oppinions. Its all part of the research process. Thanks in advance. PS I know its a skyline forum, thats half the point of putting it up here. Hopefully I might get a less bias oppinion than a VW forum.
  16. Cop it on the chin hey, bit unlucky but as far as the law is concerned you were in the wrong. Good luck contesting it. Either way, my opinion bit dangerous having it sitting on your lap while driving don't you think? Its interesting what peoples bodies do in emergencys, and I can tell you now having a phone sitting on your lap playing music isnt good.
  17. Karnivool at the Arena tonite! Thats whats happening damn it!
  18. Spotted Rohan today, corner of Creek and Lyton Rds. He was driving a mates celica (cough s-hitbox :-p) and I was in my dads Liberty. Yay for the skyline spotted thread!
  19. That also said, if you arent going for insane power, you might be able to get away with a bigger pump and an aftermarket fuel regulator, just enough to force that extra bit of fuel through.
  20. If you short circuit them, Im sure that will give you seat heaters
  21. Two things with that. They are a cheap car, and you get what you pay for, fair enough. But with the people who own them... Being Australias most popular car does mean just based on percentages yoru going to get more fools owning them. But I do see a LOT of rude, stuck up, stupid, bogan etc, that think they own the road because they have a skyline, and feel they are superior to all other cars on the road. Both have their good and bad. Just trying to keep this in perspective for some people. (yourself not included)
  22. Well it still isn't as bad as America here... I mean one of my dads mates moved here about 20 years ago because there were armed gaurds at his sons high school. And they didn't exactly live in the slums. I mean, we are MILES off that. Anyway, I completely blame this attack on TV, specifically 'Underbelly' its a bad influence on children, look what happens! Few other comments, people paying out commodoores, its just as bad as paying out skylines... Same thing different name. And don't give me the whole skylines are better thing. Both cars are made for a market which is COMPLEATLY DIFFERENT. If holden shut down tomorrow there would be a lot of Aussies out of work. Moving on from that. As a few people have said, that sort of attack is never 100% unprovoked. Some one has done something, said something, or it could be more sinister being someone hasn't paid thier debts, or is on someone elses 'turf'. Now to the blokes who had thier cars trashed by vandals, thats a different story. Thats just some chronic bad luck. Maybe look at changing insurers to someone who does cover vandalism, if you haven't already.
  23. Could have been his wife... Can you imagion the call... "Hunny, I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is the airbags in your new car work"
