  3. My mechanic has a few snakes... They are fun. I prob need to give him a call tomorrow so if I remember I'll ask him. But as above you do need a permit, just like you need for most native animals.

  9. So you got stock rims with legal tyres on them? Don't mean to sound stupid, but why not just leave them on the car for 2 weeks. In that 2 weeks you could get a defect, crash the car and have void insurance, etc etc.
  10. I believe what you MIGHT be able to do is have a 2nd set of calipers installed with a 2nd set of lines etc to the handbrake. So its completely seperate to your normal braking system, and you also still need to retain the standard cable ratchet handbrake. Reason I say this is one of our work cars has a hydrolic handbrake (defencive/performace driving school) and I highly doubt we would have a mod like that, that wasnt legal. As above tho, best way is to check with an engineer, and the current state laws.

  13. Your head might... I think your missing my point on that, along with miss quoting me. If my job was racing a car, Id want the best. But if Im taking my car to a track day, where I MIGHT see 160kmh max, and there is always 20secs or more from the car in front, and the car behind, its way safer than everyday road driving, as ambos on hand and some space to run off. You are only wearing the helmet and long sleaves because you have to. Really go down to revolution, tell them what you are racing and what class, and they will sort you out. Easy.

  15. Taking in to account whats been mentioned above. You need to look in to what racing you are doing. Because if you are still in a car with no cage, or harnesses, Im not sure what good a $1000 helmet is going to do you over a $200 one. Anyway, I got mine from revoution racegear as above. Was $220 or so, unbranded and no fancy pants graphics. There is some rating that you need to look for, its basically the material the helmet is made out of, and how it absorbes an impact. As they deal with cars mostly, not motorbikes, prob best to go see them. Also, you cant use an open faced at most gokarting places, so if you dable at that, keep that in mind.
  16. See what I have noticed over the years in regards to car sizes. What happens is one of 2 things (or really 3...) but the model gets bigger over time, until it gets to a point. Then then bring out a different model, or they 'compleatly re-engineer' the orginal and make it smaller again and the whole process starts over again. (option 3 being the dump it and start again) Either way, those 3 coupes are an awesome bit of gear. They are a really nice looking car, especially considering how BMW have lost their way with styling recently.

  20. After seeing some new pics, I think they are ugly as sin. And I dont rate the HSVs either. If I HAD to chose one of them Calais V, maybe a senitor... The rest are just shocking.
  21. Hate to sound like Mr sensible. But if all you are going to do is be driving it to and from work, and on the occasional faimly picnic. Get something cheaper and more reliable. That doesnt have extra stuff that can break over and above a normal car. Not like you are going to be going fast with your kid in the car anyway.
  22. Fair point. With the Govt atm, I can see they might put the clampers on soon to stop going for more power. What states are left that have P plate laws where you can still drive a V8 (or one with that much power)? That and although it might still be pushrod, but its a fairly expencive, hi-tech system. So that might limit it just from the cost point of view. Bigger lazy engines are the way of the future I think. I think the yanks and everyone else is interested in the commo, because from memory we are it when it comes to GM and RWD sedans now. That said, we do probably make a better car than the yanks.
  23. You know, I REALLY dont think this is aimed at the GTR/911 turbo buying public. That and its got 4 doors and rwd, so its not even remotely on the same platform. So that argment is gone. And $125k for a limited run of 200 cars, given the insane amounts people are paying for all the old stuff these days, its almost justifiable. Also 200 cars, I REALLY dont think thats going to kill whats left of all the whales in the world. A 2CV would do more damage to the planet than all of those 200 cars together. You cant really expect them to be all daily drivers. Some probably wont see anymore than 100kms put on them in the next 10 years! Fools.
