No I didn't... where does it say that? Mate there a different capacity quoted in each different magazine out there... seriously 3.6L, 3.7L, 3.8L... and now this british site with 4.0L. The current VQ37HR in the V36 Skyline coupe is a reality though, so that sounds about right to me. But as far as a 'mums and dads' car is concerned... not sure how you can say that when the thing isn't even released yet?

Heres a pic of all 22 owners - except Amemiya Isami of RE Amemiya, he's a Mazda tuner of course - of Japanese tuning garages and parts companies say that they have already ordered (or are going to order) a 2008 GT-R for tuning/demo car purposes: (taken from Option mag) I'd say the next GT-R will be very well supported - eventually - for aftermarket tuning, so as far as custom stuff having to be made? Maybe not.

lol 'EMU', my bad...
-
Exactly... the underlying point of all this is that it doesn't mean 'Race Bred'. I'm going with no meaning at all too, but if anyone asks, it means 'Response Balance' as thats what Japanese are saying. Hey guess what? 'VQ' in VQ35HR means 'Voltron's Quest'... anybody want to dispute that? :laughing-smiley-014:
-
Yes, but the RB26 made 280ps @ 6800rpm too (same rpm as VQ35HR)... thats why I said 'is it high enough for you?'

Your other avatar was better Sl!m...

Ok, got this from Yahoo Phonebook: 有限会社TPE 東京都新宿区西新宿4丁目32-6-1103 Ph: 03-5365-2844 Just a phone number I'm afraid

Thanks Christian I knew you had some pics lying around somewhere... Love the 'hole in the wall' style of LMP Cars too, really interested in places like that (Euro cars in Japan).
-
Never heard of the VQ35HR in the current Z33 series 2 and V36 sedan? 232kw @ 6,800rpm high enough for you? Granted an extra 500cc might change that a little but I'm sure Nissan can find a way to counter 'low revving nature'. I'm not agreeing that the new GT-R will be 4.0L btw, far from it.

*Rather* than a Japanese circuit? The Nurburgring has always been the benchmark for testing... Nissan didn't just suddenly say "Hey! European market is huge! Gotta get some of that action... lets go to Nurburgring!" lol GT-R32: yep you're right there, under 8 minutes for the next GT-R as quoted on that sight tells me the writer doesn't quite know what he talking about.

lol Heeellllooooo Shan Nice of you to drop by... it's like zombie crisis in here swinging a metal rail from side to side trying to keep the 'race bred' heathen at bay...

Wow, those Nissan AU prices are insane... I'm pretty sure they pluck some of those prices out of the air sometimes though. While I was in Australia I bought some stuff through the local Nissan dealer which were the same part numbers I had bought from Japan about 3 months earlier (for another car which was same model ECR33) and I got the quote which was exactly double what I paid for in Japan (which was about $110 difference!). I went back there to order the parts but before I did, I showed them the boxes from Nissan JP and the associated reciepts. They started to say all this BS about freight charges etc which totally went over my head and I asked for the 'real price' which they promptly knocked $70 off. I'm not sure if the bumped up the original quote because they were bored, or if it was a decision made by Nissan AU excecs to make more money... it was totally unfair and was the last time I ever bought stuff through Nissan AU. In other words: Get stuff from Nissan Japan

Ok, ok... you've dumbed this thread down enough already. Blah blah Race bred blah blah goodnight mate...

Because Japanese don't understand the meaning of 'Race bred' in it's English context as used in way it has on the www.racebred.com website, and they'd never use such a phrase for what is supposed to be a simple alphanumeric designation for an engine. The do however understand 'Response' and 'Balance', these two words are used in everyday Japanese language, they've been used heavily since the US occupation after WW2. Anyone thats lived in Japan or who speaks fluent Japanese would know this. Anyone who has just a passing fancy in Nissans or Japan/Japanese cars wouldn't. (ie: the person on Yahoo Answers) More eg: ECCS = Electronic-Concentrated-Engine-Control-System ATTESA E-TS = Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All Electronic - Torque Split HICAS = High Capacity Actively Controlled Suspension I can't understand the urge some of you have to resist the meaning the Japanese are using, and sticking to what some random Aussie or whatever said. Where you at all disappointed when you Mum told you Santa wasn't actually real? Seems almost like the same situation... gazza750: to answer your question, I'll send an email to Nissan but don't hold your breath on a forthcoming answer.
-
Alright go ask the same question (in Japanese) over at http://www.gtroc.com/ and see what answer you get... I know I'm going to believe what a Japanese says about their own engines over what some cornbread fanboy on Yahoo Answers says Whats with rebelling against correct knowledge and haging on to wrong information anyway? You know what it really means now, but you still say you'll believe the wrong thing? Thats totally absurd.
-
None of those other engine designations are under dispute buddy, so go find out for yourself in your own time...

Heres a 350Z VQ35DE ECU diagram: http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/wolfpdf/WIRING_Z33_ECU.pdf I can't say for sure if it's wildly different from a V35 VQ ECU though.

Response Balance 2600cc Dohc Electronic Twin Turbo Taken from the Japan Wikipedia entry: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%97%A5%E7%...3%83%BBRB26DETT And also here: http://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/109901/blog/c1528/ (Next entry after the picture of the tyre) And here: http://wkp.fresheye.com/wikipedia/%E6%97%A...3%83%BBRB26DETT Just to lay to rest once and for all the 'Race Bred' rumour still going around after, what, 8 or 9 years?

Don't kid myself? You judge a place you've never been to on the basis of one photo... thats gold! Here, heres a few more photos of the 'Auto wreckers': See that 3 story high shed? Thats were they keep all the parts for retail. Wheels, tyres, engines, exhausts, seats... you name it they're lying around every where (top floor and below)

In response to a few members wanting to showcase their own photos of Japan and their experiences over there, we've finally made use of the sub-forum for the SAU Japan Photo Diaries. This is running parallel with the Japan Scrapbook, the Scrapbook being photos and comments posted at random on any topic, posted by anyone, whereas the Photo Diaries are single threads devoted to one member/one event etc. Things will be a little more strictly moderated in here, if you have any queries that fall outside the topics presented in here, by all means post up in the general Japan forum. A few things: - Each thread will be viewed as a members own personal 'photo blog'. So if you have photos of the same event, don't post them in someone elses thread. - Multiple threads of the same event or topic won't be merged as per above. - Any threads that belong in the general forum will be moved there immediately. - No pointless bumping eg: 'any updates?' Posts are made in the members own way, in their own time... have patience If you have any queries or problems PM either myself or Beer Baron. Thanks and have fun

I'm popping in to give Scathing my full support. 32line: I'm a credible source and 'RB' doesn't mean anything. I know where you got that idea of Race Bred from. You know why Wikipedia says it's 'disputed'? It's because some so called journalist wanting to sound like he knew his shit came up with it one day to make his article sound good. You'd be suprised how much disinformation came out in magazines around 1995 - 1999 about Japanese cars etc.... MAX POWER UK anyone? Give it up 32line there are too many knowledgable people around to say you're mistaken.

Edit: thats actually a Mitsubishi Minica! Just so you know!!!!
