  1. The V35 Skyline Sedan official designation is: UA-PV35. The V35 Skyline Coupe official designation is: UA-CPV35. I`m REALLY suprised that alot of people on this *Skylines* Australia forum still call it an R35. Aren`t you guys Skyline enthusiasts? By getting the name wrong, we`re disrespecting the latest Skyline incarnation. This is not a rant, it`s just that I really want SAU Forums to be THE English Language Skyline Information base that all people look to for accurate information. I`m not trying to score points here or trying to look like *the man*, I just want this forum to be the best there is.
  2. I did, and those Concept 2001 pics are... well, 2 years old. Why are a few people typing "V35/R35"? It`s V35... thats what Nissan calls that platform. There is no possibility of an R35 ok? And as for an "R"35 GT-R, Nissan is making the GT-R on the V35 platform, so you can guess they`re gonna come up with something like "BNV35" GT-R or something. The "RB" series of straight sixes are gone. Please don`t perpetuate the "R35" thing, I tell my Japanese mates about it and they can`t understand how people can get it wrong, when it`s so easy to click your mouse a few times to see the V35 spec sheet.
  3. Is that the "Stealth Bomber" R34.5 GT-R that I nocked up last Sundie?
  4. I`d refer to the GT-R and Supra as "much better than Muscle cars"...
  5. That photochopped R34 has been doing the rounds for 3-odd years!!! The guy who did it admitted it was a chop!
  6. They outsource the the speedo "faces" from another company. They only change the face and the little speedo mechanism inside as far as I know, so you give them yours (with 25,000 odd yen)and they give you another reconditioned "260km/h" cluster in return... the work they do on the cluster is quite minimal.
  7. Whats stopping you lazybones?
  8. It weighs 1920kg!!! NO thought was put into any weight saving whatsoever. If they make a stronger driveline for the Monaro `fo by `fo, it`ll crack 2 tonnes! Whaaaaaaaat a looooooad of ruuuuuuuubish! Other notable GT cars that crack 2 tonnes: The Bentley Continental R $100,000,000;) and ahhhh... ?
  9. >rsx84: The R31 in aaah, 1989? >sumfatchin: No man, they`re all various NA V6 capacities, from 2.5 to 3.5 litre... the 3.5 having the `ol 280ps output.
  10. I wanna start an "Anti-Gohsn" movement. After I saw an interview with him on a Japanese Business Review program a few months back, I got this huge feeling that he`s gonna f*ck Nissan up royally if he goes unchecked for too long. Send him back! I`ll send him back by EMS!
  11. Carlos Gohsn... Ok, he saved Nissan from financial doom, by making decisions (well, the Japs wanted to make those decisions, they just needed a foreigner to act as "scapegoat") that no one else would make at the time. The Japanese management were quite happy for Carlos to take all the kudos for saving Nissan, the fact was, that this senario provided an excellent opportunity *to break the cycle* of Japanese "Mottainai" (wasteful) business practices. Great! Nissan is still here. Carlos, you`ve done your job... ...now f*ck off:p. His smiley mug is showing up everywhere (in Japanese motoring circles)... I don`t care how much he SUDDENLY loves the 350Z or GT-R... he doesn`t know sh*t about Godzilla, Japanese passion for detail, or us long time Skyline enthusiasts. You can`t teach a Brazilian JDM tricks. He`s successfully had a hand in making the 350Z and the V35 Coupe look almost identical, and if he has his way, the S16 Silvia will look damn near exactly the same too (see the attachment). Great. 3 of Nissan icon sports cars moulded into 3 versions of the same car - Pudgy, Stumpy and Mini-me. SEND HIM BACK TO BRAZIL!
  12. Yes, as we`ve pointed out since July, (no offence Gohan) the V35 GT-R has been withdrawn from the Tokyo Motor Show. The car simply wasn`t ready, wholly due to the fact that Carlos "Nissan is MY bitch now" Gohsn kept pushing the GT-R R+D team to make more and more adjustments... promptly pissing them off in the process and causing them to pull the car from the TMS. Oh and you can thank Carlos "The GT-R needs a V8 to take on Cadillac, Range Rover and Daimler" Gohsn for the V35 Skylines pudgy looks...
  13. It looksa lika dis: I got it by going onto Google Search and typing "V35 Skyline Coupe".
  14. Oh right. I thought you had already removed the insides of your cat-converter... rhetorical question...
  15. The hole in the Ozone layer covers most of the Antartic... ...if you gut your cat, the worldwide sea level will rise by 3.5m... killing 220,000,000 people, and displacing 100,000,000 households. Removing the material inside your catalytic converter on the other hand...
  16. Pushrod clearances would be cool... How in-depth? Well, what I mean is that if a magazine is gonna go all the way to Japan, I'd expect the journalist who's writing the article to QUOTE what Tanaka-san (or whoever) said regarding the car... No "it's anyones guess..." or "they didn't stop to tell us!" type phrases coming up right when you expect the nitty gritty stuff. A SPEED article on the HKS JGTC car was disappointing. They basically said that they had no info on engine specs. The reason they said they didn't have the specs was because *it was a big secret*... but the journalist is Australian is he not? Whats he gonna do, go straight to Dome Project and spill the beans all in perfect Japanese about the HKS car? It just sounded dumb. But thats me, I've lived in Japan for quite a while, and I know that Japanese loosen up a tell you more than you need to know if you show them a bit of respect. Especially if your going back to Oz (nudge, nudge) the next day...
  17. They did? They said "R"35? I don't like Speed Magazine very much. My brother sent me a copy, and in all honesty, their articles a VERY light-on with indepth information... almost like a poster book. They run all these stories on Japan, but they openly admit that they didn't talk to anyone in Japan coz the Japs couldn't speak English. That isn't so good.
  18. C'mon... throw in your 5c... You must know something? I'd love to know why some dude in Nissan Australia says "no" to selling the Skyline.
  19. Why is that? It'll steal Maxima sales? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Is this Leon Daphne... you know... ok?
  20. The 4WD Monaro kind reminds me of the Aston Martin in the latest 007 film... but without all the fancy crap and just as heavy.
  21. Used Japanese Imports... a mixed bag at the best of times.
  22. Monaro goes 4 wheel drive? How much would that monstrosity weigh???? I can see the headline now: "Holden sticks it to the GT-R!!! Well... ...in general overall chassis layout... ...kinda... ... F*CK YOUSE RICERS!!!!" And the headline that the Holden legal team suggests: "Monaro goes 4WD, and shakes up the SUV market."

    The New GT-R...!!!

Misinterpreted smileys once again... by Rezz. Sorry mate, enjoy the rest of your day.
  24. Rezz

    The New GT-R...!!!

You said you read the whole thread, but are unsure of the engine specs? The engine specs are the one thing I was *sure* of when I put finger to keyboard. And Jimbo, I ain`t discriminating, just that in the very first post... there are engine specs!:0
  25. Damn, some of those 17 year old piss you off don`t they? Dribbling all this unwaranted, imaginary crap. But anyways, I`d get the R32 GTS-T, of course they`re a better car all round, Nissan intended it that way, and I just personally like the R32. As for drifting though, if thats your main focus, go for the S13. 7 out of 10 drifters in Japan started out in them, so I guess that speaks for itself.
