  1. No... it`s the "SOC" (Supra Owners Club) e2000 wide body Supra. Yes, thats right, it`s a privateer designed and built kit. ...they`ve got some cool stuff for Supras...
  2. Well done walkoau! Looks sweet.
  3. I went down to the wharf here in Kobe 2 weeks ago to see my Pajero, and while I was there I inspected about 6 `89 GT-R`s, and drove one. Basically, they were *used*. The one I drove was ok, had some rock-hard coil overs fitted, but the gear shift action was sloppy as, there were squeaks and rattles while cornering, and scratches, small dents and what have you on practically every panel upon closer inspection... oh, and it had previously been in an accident. On the up-side, the engine seemed solid, no leaks, had a few mods and it pulled really hard. A mixed bag really, but try and budget 800,000yen ($10,500) for the car at auction. That should get you a decent one for sure.
  4. Supra bodykit of the year... those are 19x12in Work Equip wheels on the back.
  5. This may not look like much, but it's Mine's R32 GT-R Nur Spec, a complete car built by Mine's using all new components from the R34 GT-R (amongst others) for a cool 4,500,000yen...
  6. I've said this before, but that "chopped-top S15" LITERALLY lives around the corner from my building... infact, I see all the DRFT cars (S13/14, FD RX-7, hack MarkII) on a daily basis coz they're house is on the way to the train station.
  7. I just thought that having a big whopping shifter in your car would have the "Traffic" Poilce jumping up and down saying "What d'ya fink dat iz maaaate? A rally car or sumfin?" And bang, defect notice.
  8. I wanna tell you Enrico and rb25, but my website is aaaaaaallmost finished. I don't want to start the ball rolling without being totally prepared. I'll just say "from $1*** plus freight".
  9. They're cool. But where is the R33 GT-R in the "cartoon" jpeg?
  10. I sell those Ikeya Formula Sequential Shifters if you want one, thing is, they're bringing out a third(!) version soon, so hang back a bit I say if your interested. They aren't legal in Oz are they?
  11. Playing the stockmarket? What about the new Legacy B4 GT? ....aaah, are they in Oz yet? Excuse my ignorance...
  12. I can give you exact specs of the JDM... just knock off 50kw for the Aussie model Engine: 2JZ-GE inline 6cyl DOHC 24 valve Capacity: 2997cc Power: 230ps (171kw) @ 6000rpm Torque: 31.0kg/m @ 4000rpm
  13. Cool. Get it man if it'll really make you happy. They are getting on, and as everybody else will tell you, '89 GT-R's have had a hard life, and if they haven't, they cost as much as an R33 GT-R. About the brakes, they're satisfactory IMO, but could do with an upgrade.
  14. Track, the only way to enjoy a 'line... other than drift.
  15. I got my eye out cobo (always have for Skyline related stuff!) so if I happen upon anything I'll post up asap.
  16. Set it up like a RWD. As in: soft front, hard rear. The R34 doen't understeer as much as the other GT-R's, but still try and get maximum grip on the front. But I agree wit C_dawG, most of your time will be made up with your cornering technique.... and manual transmission.
  17. Just don't hold your breath guys... I'm formatting and re-installing OS as we speak. Give us a week or 2...
  18. ...at one of those classy Shabu Shabu places...
  19. Oi lads, when I've finally got some free time, I'm gonna compile a be-all and end-all file of the JDM HR31 Skyline. Some ones gotta do it. It might as well be an Aussie... I know theres alot of stuff about this already out there, but the figures do differ depending on the person/country/time of year etc. All my stuff will be translated straight from Japanese, and I'll have it proof read at least twice to avoid fook ups... Sound good? Or a waste of time?
  20. I got the GT Force wheel, but connecting drifts (requiring a furious right full lock-left full lock action) almost had me snapping the wheel off... ...not to mention wierd "handbrake on the steering wheel" button location. Much prefer a real handbrake for sure... aaah Logitech? How bout it?
  21. Yes man, I'm just about ready to launch my website, got a shipping deal going on with the cars/parts and accessories, and 2 or 3 propositions to expand and I haven't even opened yet! As far as importing cars goes (wink> DaiOni) it's more like: Private ownership in Japan for 1 year (requiring a parking space), registered (of course), import approval, and with the container, to make it worthwhile, you'd need 2 cars in the container, plus parts. Or you could just export the car, they work out the freight cost from the dimensions of the vehicle. I got a Mitsubishi Pajero going next month for a freight cost of $1400 to give you an idea...
  22. According to the Japanese Domestic Car Bible, all *Series 1* variants of the HR31 GTS and GTS-X started in May 1986 bar the NISMO, which was Febuary 1987. As for the NICS and ECCS, I'm at work, so I'll get back to ya...
  23. I'm starting to agree with you. It's nigh on impossible to get a vintage 1993 Autech catalogue (or list of available mods done by Autech that year), let alone get answers from the girl on the helpline. Sorry cobo-11, I tried, but theres just no way I can say for sure what was done to your car. Lets just say it was "serviced" by Autech:)...
  24. Sorry man, from your info under your User name, it said "R32 GTS-4 Autech", and I though that you had (but didn't know it) a legit Skyline Autech Version... It's quite possible your car had work done by Autech. people don't realize that Autech is a "car lifestyle" modifying company, and that most of the work they do is fitting "Kid's Version" things to Nissan Serena's etc, things like tougher upholstery on the seats, car navigation, different paint jobs that aren't in the Nissan catalogue etc. So your car was probably bought and at the point of sale, had a few extras put on by Autech. Nissan makes the car - Autech bolts on some accesories, paints it a non-standard colour, puts in different upholstery, put a higher grade stereo in, things like that. Are there any easily identifyable differences between your car and a standard GTS-4? Like equipment, colour etc?
  25. I remember watching an old Colin Chapman vid, and I think Jackie Stewart was driving an Escort in the '68(?) British Touring Car Chapionship. He was the ultimate powersliding master. He had that Escort, as underpowered as it was, sliding like you wouldn't believe around Brands Hatch, easily getting the fastest lap times... it was beutiful to watch, seeing this old Escort almost "floating" around the faster corners... In that situation, powersliding to get a faster laptime, is kinda outdated now in all but rallying, due to advances in tyre technology, suspension design etc... Whats more, the car is never out of control to an extent that it's hindering laptimes... well thats the theory anyway. Drifting on the other hand (in the circuit battle sense of it) is an intentional powerslide sustained for as long as possible with no consideration of lap times. Feel free to flame what I just wrote, thats just my understanding after going to illegal and circuit drift events here in Japan.
