I wonder if this guy is a F1 Paddock Club member and did laps at the Suzuka GP last year after the Porsche Cup sessions? Car looks exactly the same as what was on the circuit. It spun out at the hairpin and did a huge 180 deg burnout to get going again. Good to watch (and hear!)

I like the 'Beatles album cover, but with bird' element of this photo as well, haha

Great pics๏ผ๐ I'm at that age where fully stock BCNR33 and A70 twin turbo R are the highlights of that collection ๐

Noice one ๐ I've done a 1:16.300 at Watkins Glen, will keep at it. Still have to knock off half a second at Suzuka in the Roadster
-
I got it down to within 5 tenths of the silver time at Grand Valley in the X2010 but struggling to improve on that. Have put it aside for now. Got well into silver in the Mazda Roadster NR-A at Suzuka east course and the Alfa 155 touring car at Watkins Glen short though
-
Bit late to the convo but I got deep into the silver time in the Gr.4 Lancer at Deep Forest, with 3 tenths quicker lap to get gold, but had family visit us and that was that. Currently the Red Bull X2010 at Grand Valley and waaaaay off the silver time. Using a Thrustmaster T150 pro. It's seems really inconsistent one track from another how competitive you can be (or not be). Maybe I'm just not driving accurately enough through some corners where I could pick up, what, 3 seconds(?!) somewhere.... that just seems unrealistic though. Wheelspin out of slower corners is very sensitive in that car.

1.80 yen for a slice of pizza... or is it supposed to be 180 yen?? Unfortunately it was the latter ๐ข Didn't try it because we'd just left a Kobe beef restaurant and had no intention of going for a slice of pizza. 2 Bros Pizza at Hankyu Sannomiya station: https://g.co/kgs/HrVzGV8

Indeed. Mitsuoka always did their magic on various Nissan models, but because the Nouera was going to be in the medium sized sedan class, they decided not to try and modify the 2004 P12 Nissan Primera because it looked too modern combined with the 1940's styling. It would contrast way too much so they went with the more suitable CL7 Accord... ๐
-
This one isn't "on the street" per se, but it was on the street just prior to the photos being taken..... Mitsuoka Nouera, based on a CL7 Honda Accord. It was in the carpark of the Hanshin Nishinomiya train station "Ebista" shopping mall. I'd say they are very rare compared to other Mitsuoka models.

Do the shapes of the rice crisps really conform to the individual car model shapes or is it a bit of a stretch? I mean, do you know you're eating a BNR32 GT-R after having grabbed one from the can? ๐

Thatโs nuts! ๐ Are these for eating or display

Never been there but seen the social media posts about Hekkelun. Agree about the environment, I'd only go there in the middle of winter for that exact reason. Le Monde Coffee in northern Nagoya is one I'd like to try out when I'm out that way.

That night shot of Tokyo skytree is great ๐ Did you catch the name of the coffee & pudding cafe? This is my current exploration theme, top notch little hole in the wall Japanese cafes ๐

Price drops on most of the scale model cars for the end of summer! ๐ Some nice Nismos in there. If you missed it from the original post, SAU members get a free microfibre cloth from Car Wash Japan. Once they run out we'll update it to another item: https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/collections/1-43-scale-model-cars https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/collections/1-64-scale-model-cars

Any photos? The humidity is something else in the cities. +1 for Hokkaido, was there in July 2023 driving around 2/3rds of the island in a rental and the weather was far better, although it dropped to about 15 deg up in Wakkanai (the place where you can see Sakhalin Island on a clear day) during the day which was unexpected. Sapporo was great, will definitely go back there for the snow festival.

Not sure who will see this or make use of it, but I figured a new thread in this section was due ๐ Expressway tolls in Japan are not exactly cheap and driving for any extended distance can rack up costs fairly quickly. Here's a good page listing prices for "Expressway passes" (or electronic toll cards with a certain amount of credit applied) which are available to tourists who would like to drive themselves to their destinations rather than take public transport. There was an "all Japan" Expressway pass that was available, but has now been abolished for a "regional pass" which can only be used in the prefectures in the listed regions: Central: https://hayatabi.c-nexco.co.jp/page/?id=91 Hokkaido: https://en.driveplaza.com/drawari/hokkaido_expass/ Tohoku: https://en.driveplaza.com/drawari/tohoku_expass/ San'in Setouchi Shikoku: https://global.w-nexco.co.jp/en/sep/ Kyushu: https://global.w-nexco.co.jp/en/kep/

Getting genuine parts for an import?
Rezz replied to roofchop's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
There's an online parts catalogue for older Nissan's here: https://partsfan.com/nissan/jp/ It can be changed to English at the top right of the page. Once you register your account you can look up your model (use the frame number, eg: HCR32-0014789 for best results) and then choose the parts as required. If you send me your part number list I could have a go at compiling costs and reply back via personal message if you like? I don't mind doing the leg work. No obligation quoting of course. -

Assuming the parts are on the shelf somewhere here in Japan, I can get them sent to you directly in 10 - 12 days via air mail. Not sure what the transit times are for anyone else but I'm able to assist if time is a factor. Pricing (in Japan) could be similar or a bit higher depending on the part. Just putting it out there if you (or anyone) would prefer to deal with an SAU member. -
I can get this exact belt and ship it to you from Japan if you are still interested in it?

Something a little different.... Assembly videos of DeAgostini's 1/8 scale Fast & Furious BNR34 Nissan Skyline GT-R. Starting from issue 28 as the original intention was to obtain all 110 weekly issues then do a 'super cut' video. The boxes were taking up too much space so we start from #28:

Yes. It's not dependent on the ECU. It's connected to its own set of sensors and uses its own harnesses/sensor unit.

There's the Apexi DIN3 meter however it's long been discontinued: https://www.apexi.co.jp/products/discontinued-products/din3-meter/ This guy installed one in a R34 Skyline 1DIN pocket using brackets which could go in the space for the radio? I don't own an R34 so can't confirm. https://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/2839151/car/2447015/5771545/note.aspx If you could find one for sale it might do the job?
