  1. Having never been to Hokkaido I can't say for sure, but if you want to find car parts places the best place to look is along the main roads usually, away from train stations.

    Production Numbers

Car Sensor has production dates, but not numbers. As for production numbers, theres a site called www.jama.or.jp but they only show numbers of vehicles manufactured by each car maker in total by month/year (starting from 1993 onwards), not for individual models. I don't think theres a site that has numbers produced for every model of car from every Japanese manufacturer, that'd be one hell of a database... I'd be charging people to see it if they weren't industry officials.
  3. Try a '04 V35 Skyline 350GT v the '04 WRX...
  4. That Connaught looks really interesting. Whats the go with the 260K Bristol? Did the Queen wet herself in it?
  5. From that list Wink posted, only the Skyline 350GT and the Toyota Mark X would be a good comparison because they're the only RWDs... actually no. The Skyline and Mark X are one bodysize smaller than the VE. A totally fair comparison would be the Nissan Fuga (V8 version is the Infiniti M45) and the Toyota Crown Majesta V8. But those cars are almost semi-limosines and would probably be a better comparison to the Holden Statesman. But even then the Nissan and Toyota are 3 years old already. So at the end of the day, the VE and Falcon are on their own. Nothing out of Japan can really be compared to them because they are big ass V8 sedans but with a performance slant. Most (Japanese) car makers have the large V8 sedan as the top luxury model., or as in BMWs case, a V10 and an astronomical price tag. Skyline vs Commodore? Only at Bathurst...

    Tokyo Auto Salon 2007

Richard and Nick won't be the enthusiastic nutters anymore that basically shot off into the distance the moment we arrived at the entrance in '04 ... hahaha they're oldskool now. Well I'll head the 'veterans group' for any of those who want to take it easy (rather than run) and down a few beers while discussing the finer points of the few proper performance cars that are there. /sarcasm
  7. The last two characters are 'Keiro' or 'Route' in English... probably makes no difference to the outcome though!

    Tokyo Auto Salon 2007

All we need are some people who... eeeerrr... want to meet up? Whats the drama? Well I'll be at that JR Makuhari Station east(?) exit from about 9am to 9:30am... if you want to hook up, just yell out REZZ!!!!!! when you get there and then I can make a positive ID ... lol.

    Tokyo Auto Salon 2007

It'll work... Last time I went we had a good meet up (2004) there were about 15 of us.
  10. Each time I see this thread updated, I'm thinking it's another request for language help... This is very OT Laurence can you start another thread? 10 Moderators points to me for the quick reaction time...
  11. They're not marketed as proper models, but can be bought as a complete car so to speak. You can also either ask Nissan to install all that stuff or certain parts at point of sale/after sale, or the dealship has the stuff fitted to make that particular model (whether it was a demo or for a Stagea model runout sale) more attractive. So it's possible to have some Dayz bits attached, but not all. Your car might be like this.
  12. inark: It's the 'same old, same old' article written by Aussie journalists who don't really give 2 sh!ts about Japanese cars. Of course Motor is going to regurgitate the same stuff we've known for going on 3 years now, the only miniscule difference is that the pics of this test mule V35 has small bonnet ducts and a couple of extra exhaust pipes. Do you really think Motor have a relationship with inside people in Japan that send secret documents to them with all the latest spy info? No... it's just whats on the grapevine on the 'net and what other mags have already printed... with a healthy dose of 'it makes us wonder...' and 'we can expect...' I can't believe they threw 'the V8 may be back on the cards' quote in within 13 months of the GT-Rs debut... is it out of the realms of possibility to install 4 exhaust tips to a V6 engine??

    Contacting Swat

Yes. It says down the bottom that you can contact them but theres no link...?
  15. I've rummaged through those 'local forums' as N1GTR put it, and usually parts are sent after a lengthy conversation via email to ensure that you're not getting the wrong part. I'd only ever consider it for extremely rare and/or discontinued parts which - if you can locate what you want - is an absolute godsend sometimes. As Laurence said Gooparts has some good stuff too, but often in limited amounts and applications. There are alot of parts on Goo for your Toyota bB/Nissan Mocco/Honda Odyssey though...
  16. Well with the AE86, theres a few factors that come into play with the stupid prices people ask for them. I can't say that the R32 GT-R will be the same simply because it wasn't 'the last of the GT-Rs'... unlike the AE86 which was Toyotas last lightweight RWD small car. When R32 GT-Rs become really hard to find, there'll be people either paying decent (but not stupid) money for good examples, or opting for a newer R33/34 or even the next GT-R... kinda like the JZA70 Supra. Having said that though, never underestimate American hype. That alone could bump prices up for an R32 the moment it's featured in the next Fast and Furious: Lunar Assault movie
  17. Hoping they were 'rareing up'? Why? To answer your question (which really can't be answered), the R32 GT-Rs aren't as thick on the ground as 10 years ago... ok?
  18. Ok you asked for it Hahaha that was fun...
  19. Laurence what have you done to your beloved S14??? You love that car man!!! Don't forget to email either...
  20. I hope you can succeed... we tried every shade/colour variation from SunGuard (we're a SunGuard superstore) that seemed like it would work, but no go. We got pretty close with SunGuard DS 20, but by that stage the front windows were reading 16%, while the rear tinted glass was around 26%... big difference in darkness but a tradeoff of looking *almost* uniform with the rear windows. The rear hatch doesn't matter so much because of the 'round the corner' thing SydneyKid mentioned.
  21. We tried everything to get the front door windows to look the same, even laying a sheet of 20% film over the front window to cut the extra light coming in from the front... but still you get that green 'tinge' with the front windows. Yeah the 5 year coat is typical Nissan under statement I'd say, the rate that the tinted glass fades would be extremely slow.
  22. Unfortunately yeah, but I'd hate to see the price if such windows do exist...
  23. You certainly can mate I just put some numbers into your quote to make it easier to understand, hope you don't mind me editing your post 1) The tinted glass on the Stageas rear/side windows comes up at about 27% on the digital meter. It's too dark for WA and Victoria, not sure about NSW/QLD. 2) The standard (non-tinted glass) front/side windows come up at about 65 - 70%. To match it to the rear windows % wise, you'd need to use a 30 - 35% film, but like I mentioned earlier, the rear tinted glass looks deceptively darker than the front windows when tinted to the same %. 3) The rear tailgate window is tempered glass (same as the front/sides) but I can't measure back windows the meter can't slip over the glass because of the metal around the tailgate. I'm assuming the % is exactly the same. 4) I would say it's more like certain light conditions will make you notice the difference slightly or noticably depending on the person. We have tried to tinit-match Jeff Ash's 2003 V35 350GT coupe, and he's brought it back twice already. He notices it, but then again he is a bit a a picky guy with the J-cars... lol As I said before, because of the different techniques used to make the tinted glass (Nissan calls it '5 year coat' - apparently it holds it's darkness that long before fading starts) theres just no way to match it properly unless a window film manufacturer specifically produces a tint that can cancel out the green UV coating on the front windows.
  24. Yes. It's a complicated system of brass fittings and contact points.... lol Seriously it's just like an 'extention' of the same thing they use on aftermarket horn buttons.
  25. Ok just to set a few things straight for StageaGirl and other Perth people, I work with my brother Trent at TKO Tinting in Victoria Park: - 35% is the darkest tint you can have on all the windows except the front windscreen. - NO ONE can match the '5 Year Coat' tinted glass from Nissan, Toyota, Mitsubishi etc... you can get close but it won't be exact. Reason being that the tinted glass starts off as a clear, and the straight black tinted particles are added to it during the process. So in effect the tinted glass is Clear + Black (glass). The front windows on the other hand have a green UV reducing finish to them, so adding dark tint on top of it means it's clear/green (glass) + Black (film) = the colours are different. Also, to match the % of the glass to the rear windows with tint, the film still looks too light in comparison. The tinted glass looks deceptive in that it looks darker than what the digital light meter tells you. - Jeff Ash from C-Red gets all his imports done through us, and he's given up trying to match the tint to the tinted glass. We've also done Stageas (one just 2 weeks ago) with the same result. - All 5 windows on a Falcon starts at $245 at TKO...
