  1. Bwahahaha... I was just gonna say "wtf is an R35???"
  2. All up total including all associated bullshit it's costing me A$4,200 for a 40 foot container. When it arrives in Perth there are additional customs and quarantine costs aswell.
  3. And for those just *chewing at the bit* wanting to see what these dolls look like: http://www.dollnomori.com/main.html SCARY. SHIT.
  4. ^^^ Thats why I like this guy! Good work Masa and not a compliant at all! Man I looked at those instructions and though 'oh geeeez...' hehehe
  5. Yep, but if you can get a cheap ceffy or S13 and fit it and as many parts as possible into a 20 footer it'll be easy enough for one guy to do... just need the cash up front. Poida I'm doing a 40 foot container and shipping 2 cars right now, and even the 40 foot is reasonable if you were to sell both cars when they land. Any parts that you can fit in there is a bonus.
  6. So you're asking people what they think of a workshop that they've never ever been to, let alone had work done by them??? Mate in all honesty it's be better to use babelfish whatever to translate your request into Japanese and post it up on a Japanese BBS forum... and good luck on getting a reply! I've had all my work done by my local SuperAutobacs and one small local garage called Furukawa Auto. When I was contemplating an engine overhaul last year, I was thinking about getting Garage Endless to do it, but their additional fees (ontop of parts and labour!) just blew me away. They managed to quote me the total job price 300,000 yen + 80,000 yen (A$950) for... aaah... nothing? I *shudder* to think what Veilside would do to your hip pocket all in the name of 'notoriety'.
  7. Poida, take it from me, don't just think about sending your LSD alone. Get some mates together and do big group buys and fill up a 20 footer container and do it that way. Alternatively, have the LSD attched to something large - like a car - then stuff it in said 20 footer. There is no cost effective way to send single items over 30kg.
  8. It's worked out according to vehicle dimensions and engine capacity. So a Kei car will be cheaper than say a Toyota Crown Majesta. For my R32, I had to pay 46,000 yen (A$541) a year. So for the R32, I had running costs like this: 6,000 yen/fortnight fuel 15,000 yen/month parking 7,000 yen/month insurance (3rd party, fire, theft) 46,000 yen/year tax 100,000 yen (roughly)/every 2 years shaken (roadworthy inspection) So disregarding the shaken, my regular outgoings for 'car expenses' were 446,000 yen (A$5,247) a year not including maintenance and modifications OR TOLL. Highway tolls can blow that figure out considerably. I also said 6,000 yen/fortnight for fuel as I didn't drive so much after my mate Troy left Japan...
  9. It a really old corner house, maybe 60+ years old, and thats the only space for a car on the 'block'... I say block but the whole house would be on a pad of say 8m x 10m
  10. This is Itami Airport, Osakas northern Domestic terminal. Actually, it was Osakas old International terminal before Kansai International was built 10 years or so ago. Some driving shots, going down Route 43 (night) and Hanshin Kousoku Wangan-sen (Hanshin Bayside Expressway). It's not always that empty, but between speed camera locations you can average 150 - 180km/h (damn speed limiter!) if it's quiet.
  11. Thanks mate Some more: Some pics of Sakura (cherry blossoms) I took earlier in the year around April or so. They only bloom like this (in this area - the blooming starts from Kyushu then moves north up throughuot Japan) for a week or two then look just like normal trees for the rest of the year... ... another streetscape. You see? Ricey car mods DO exist in Japan! It's a Mitsubishi Legnum.
  12. My missus got a new laptop: I noticed that Japanese laptops have 'Characters' floating around the screen... you have to look after them. This one is called 'Para-chan' an it's a baby seal (boy). Here he's asking: "Have you been using the Schedule function?" Thats all for now
  13. Random Umeda (Osaka) streetscapes... At first I thought C-West had gone under, but they're just refurbishing their Nishinomiya Service Garage. If you ever wondered what a SuperAutobacs garage looks like, well here it is... with my Silvia getting the front coilovers changed and big camber dialled in (and white AVS VS-6 wheels put back on)... ... went out into the parking lot while waiting and saw this:
  14. Speaking of 'Engrish' check these out... Alloy wheel center caps: If you've been to Japan and you don't know Ka-ru Ojisan, you should be sent to bed without dinner! The Skyline ready to get loaded into a shipping container...
  15. Hello... I've got bearly a week and a half left in Japan and I thought I might post up some real random stuff I've got pics from... nothing special but they may be of interest to some who might be REALLY bored at work/home whatever... My wife ordered some carboard boxes (called 'Dan-boh-ru' in Japanese...) and there was this 'Power Builder Bee Racing' piece of card under the plastic straps to protect the boxes from ripping etc... of all the places... A pic of the Moon and Venus at dusk in Ashiya, I took it a few days ago. Thats only a 3x zoom with a Canon IXY 500. I went to the Nanko street drifting a few weeks back and took this pic of SAU member 'Gojira's car... the R32 is at the back (no I didn't have a go at drifting). Japanese holiday 'Obon' fireworks on the Yodo river in Osaka. About 2 million people were along the river and surronding areas to watch that night. Taken about 3 weeks ago. Just some random 'Engrish' written on a CD box...
  16. I know... it's gonna be almost like reverse culture shock Don't get me wrong, theres shipping and a profit margin thats gotta be added onto goods sold in AU, but I've been scratching my head ALOT lately the more I check out the SAU state forums... I mean $1,200 for a Japanese no-name cat back exhaust? $900 for shitty used Tein coil overs? Now this $35,000 R34 4 door? Hmmmmm...

Where did you copy that 'half pitch' katakana from? It's more difficult to read in half pitch... but it's probably your keyboard or your IME settings or something. Could you follow that? Anyway, it says: "When 'YES' or 'NEXT' key is on (pressed?) all data is initialized. When the ignition switch is turned off/on, initialization is executed. YES/NO."
  20. Hahaha... I feel like Jeffrey from 12 Monkeys: "Right, right right... I got abit carried away..." Yeah, aaaah you don't have to speak Japanese in order to teach English, but some private schools will require you to know at least some Japanese so you can explain English grammar to the students. Actually, I can explain English grammar in Japanese better than I can speak about cars... kinda wierd I'd say know some basic Japanese will make the students feel more comfortable, and will take away the 'uncomfortable silence' when the student doesn't quite get what you mean even after 10 times repeating yourself. @ totoro: Thanks for that mate, the Daikon will come in handy for the miso shiru... キューピ mayonaise and various Ajinomoto furikake etc is easy to find too? @ MirKz: Yep, I studied at Nichigo Center and TAFE for a total of 7 months or so before I came... that helps out alot, but NOTHING prepares you for Old Japanese ladies speaking Osaka-ben (local dialect) at a million miles an hour to you...
  21. Drum roll please... <span style='font-size:21pt;line-height:100%'>The A'pex A450</span> The One and Only Complete car by A'pex. A'pex, who first started business back in 1992, originally started off making the 'Super Megaphone' muffler. A'pex in the early '90s were well known for being one of the first companies to offer pipe diameters larger than 60mm, and they also made the 'monster tip' popular by offering the first 115mm muffler tip. By 1997, A'pex had a whole line up of mechanical and electronic goods, and were keen to show off their know-how by putting together a 'complete car' along the lines of the famous HKS ZERO R of 1994. When discussing the A450, the first thing that people usually ask is "why on earth did they choose those tail lights?" Well to answer that, you have to look at the car as a whole... A'pex have redesigned *every* panel on this car bar the doors and the roof. The theme A'pex were going for with the design of the A450 was 'an GT car for Adults'... take that in any which way you want. To somehow defend the A450's rear end design, I for one think the 4 circular tail lights of the regular R32 GT-R would look out of place on this car, which shares VERY little to the R32 GT-R on the outside. If you want the quad tail lights, then don't buy an A450. If you let go of the A450's heritage, it's clear to see that the car isn't too extreme in any one area (the head light treatment might be debatable) and A'pex could've easily done alot worse. The grille is home to the 'A' from A'pex, and is surrounded by no less than 6 headlights which gives the A450 a... unique look. Looking at the car from the front really gives you an idea of the increased width, all 1810mm of it. The 18x9 Volk Racing F-Zero Winning alloy wheels don't really do a good job of filling out the guards, but were chosen more for their cohesive appearance with the redesigned bodywork. The design as a whole shouts '450hp!'... or so A'pex would want you to believe. Based on a 1994 BNR32 GT-R, A'pex threw 'about half' it's catalogue at the A450 engine bay, and before anyone shouts 'only 450hp?', the main goal performance wise was to top 280km/h, which the A450 did suprisingly easily at Yatabe Oval Test Course (it actually recorded 283.4km/h, and did the standing quarter mile in 11.9 seconds). Aerodynamic stability was another strong point, and the A'pex coil over suspension used special spring and damper rates to enhance high speed stability and cornering without affecting comfort beyond what would be expected from such an 'Adult' GT car. The single IHI A'pex RX6 ball bearing turbine runs slightly higher boost than standard, and gives the A450 almost seamless acceleration without a sudden boost rise, giving the standard capacity RB26 smooth acceleration all the way to redline, almost as if Nissan tuned the A450 themselves. Only the clutch has been upgraded in the driveline, as everything else was deemed strong enough to handle the higher output of the A450. The largely standard interior is very tastefully upgraded in high quality leather, keeping with the 'Adult' theme, and extends to the doortrims aswell. The steering wheel was provided by Nardi, and the instrument cluster incorporates a 320km/h speedometer and 1.5 bar boost guage in it's factory positon on the center console. The interior really is classy and gives the feeling of an overall 'complete car' as A'pex intended. So there it is, the A'pex A450 isn't a 1000hp beast capable of 8 second quarters or covering the standing kilometer in 12 seconds, but rather it's a mature redesign and upgrade of Nissan's flagship GT-R of the early '90s made to appeal to Adults after and bit of originalty and *a little* more power. As A'pex announced at it's release, "it's a car that wants to express itself in the world of 300 km/h on the autobahn giving the driver a feeling of high quality enhancement and safety". The A'pex A450 sold for 8,900,000 yen (A$104,527). Name: A'pex A450 Chassis: BNR32 Engine: RB26DET(T) Capacity: 2568cc Power: 335kw (450hp) Torque: unknown Weight: 1495kg Transmission: 5MT Drive: 4WD ATTESA ETS Brakes: Ventilated disks Suspension: Front and rear independent multi-link

  23. I've had both R32 and S13 Silvia (S13 is NA). Really, I agree with EXAUNV, go the S13 NA as there are quite a few around that are NA and you won't get harrassed as much if you were in a Silvia. Aso, the S13 NA - especially the CA18 - are slow, BUT they're RWD and if you get a manual they're not all bad. I think the R32 might cost you a bit more in upkeep it being a 6 cylinder and all. The R32 will be better at resale, but you can save by getting the S13, then when you're able to get a turbo, flog the Silvia and got for the mighty R32 GTS-t Type M
  24. SAME PRICE AS JAPAN PEOPLE!!! Actually it's about 5c cheaper... yay.
  25. Sorry, I gotta admit, I didn't quite get that response... were you wanting to quote me? You mean English...? Aaaah... somrthings not right here... I'll take a stab at it and guess that you're talking about speaking/reading/writing Japanese???
