  1. Daniel, that link doesn't give much info at all, and it sounds as though you're having the same problem as me. My Panasonic CD/MD doesn't read MD's 80% of the time and just produces an error message, and when I asked the guy at SuperAB about it he just said it's junk... throw it away and get a new one! Pfffff, typical Japanese response but he's right. Something to do with the optics, is it an old unit? Maybe mid/late 90's?
  2. I've been trying to win that car! lol Yes definately, the GT-R concept has grown on me (and alot of other GT-R enthusiasts) but *not* the average person here in JP anyway... they still hate it! Oddly enough the people who Nissan want to impress the most these days
  3. We're not even ready yet Rob, but yeah, I haven't really scratched the surface here as far as demo cars are concerned so it would be good to have a friendly competition... maybe not a poll, just to keep us from being lazy.

    New GTiR ??? rezz??

^^^ Yep that the Nissan Sports Concept. It'll be shown at the New York Motor Show (thats is the US peeps) on the 25th of this month. Theres absolutely no mention of drivetrain or engine at this stage, and to be honest, I don't think Nissan will reveal anything about that at New York either. I mean, Nissan Japan press release said "it's like a vehicle that appears in video games... with a 'reception desk' rear spoiler, 20 inch wheels and large fenders all with a cool appearance..." <--- omg, I think they've lost the plot. Btw, the guy from Fresh Alloy (the perpetuators of R35 hehehe) said that he's holding his breath for a VVL engine (??)... eeeerm, VVL engines have been a staple of the Nissan line up since the mid-90's, I'm pretty sure - for 2006/7 - this car'll have some crazy new valve tech like ZZQ-II or something... or no valves at all lol
  7. Japtastic, could you let us know what mods those 2 R33's have? Are they still pretty much in the same tune as when they were imported?
  8. Ok, here it is: http://www.ksgarage.jp/groupagtr.pdf for a short time only... Right click and save as!!!
  9. Anybody want to discuss the article itself? I don't know why they used a cheap fibreglass N1 bumper copy on the Aussie Group A GT-R... also those mirrors look like they belong to a Caterham Super 7. It's interesting to note the smug content Gibson Motorsport had with the Group A GT-R, they *knew* they were going to win even in pre-season (well I suppose blowing away the Sierra Cosworth times would do that), it was just a matter of warding off DNF's/reliability issues.
  10. THanks Mark! Interesting read.

They've got R3-x there... looks like it should be R34.5, kinda like the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6.5 'update' version. Nice 'shop though... I like that guys style.
  12. Two clean examples... nice. Hey that road looks pretty good in the background, I'd love to have a go on that.
  13. I've got a (by popular opinion) 'man-like' Japanese model standing up against a Skyline GTS-t if that'll suffice?
  14. Alright, having seen the Speedweek Autobarn Drift Battle (thanks Gojira!) all I can say is: well done! Good effort from everybody. Yep, of course the sponsored competitors could go much harder, but overall I think it was a good show and nothing to be ashamed of. But yeah, I do think the competitors should go alot harder and faster. I know they're amatures, but they've got sponsorship, so why does it look like they're 'babying' their cars? Btw, about the ute... drift in AU needs an 'enemy' so to speak in order to continue raising the bar... I think we've found it.
  15. Oh yeah, you can definately find older cars/parts like the ST185 and older, but it's more a matter of what and when...
  16. If most people hate the ute, why don't you just ignore it??? If you ignore it enough it'll go away and evolve into a 0-400m drag car... And why *e-v-e-r-y t-i-m-e* does Japanese motorsport (whatever it is) have to be compared to bloody Holdens and Fords??!!?? Stop it already! It just goes to show how infantile the 'Import' motorsport scene is in AU. Why compare apples to oranges? If a bloody ute thinks it can drift as well as any Japanese car, well... then so be it. But you don't have to get all insecure and 'omg... the Holden boys are onto us', just ignore it and keep doing what you're doing!

Keep it Nismo colors all the time YEAH! woohoo!
  18. I've been here going on 5 years and I've never had it... I hope it stays that wat too!
  19. Google > Japan Rail Pass > Map *I'd like to thank my pet monkey 'Pan-kun' for helping me out with Google.
  20. Actually, Daie Motors (hehehe sounds like supermarket 'Daiei') is out Kyoto way... never heard of them before, but they seem reputable enough, with some good quality cars too.
  21. No... I seem to be unaffected by hay fever... but famous last words hey? Alot of my students have come down with hay fever but they just grin and bear it - real Japanese style - and keep on going to work regardless. Not that it's highly contagious, but damn... I'd be taking at least a couple days off for sure if I had it.
