  1. Really good value if you're sharing! Thats would be how much I pay (25,000 yen/month).Not sure where Hanazonocho is... it's down Sakai way right? Nanko line?
  2. Sweet Dave... I knew you weren't just twiddling your thumbs out there Is it possible to go into the pits? Maybe chat to some drivers and see what their setups are?

    Whoretown Japan....

No and... no.In fact the last DR30 I saw was at the Nismo festival almost exactly 1 year ago. *Nothing* on the streets where I am!
  4. Aaaaah, the Cedric/Gloria have been replaced by the Y50 Fuga, the Cefiro has been replaced by the J31 Teana (although still called Maxima in other markets outside Japan), the Laurel is actually C35..., and the Fairlady Z/350Z is actually Z33.
  5. Can I suggest you post this in a Japanese speaking BBS or forum, you might have more success there, because most non-Japanese Skyline enthusiasts wouldn't dream of swapping Skyline badges for Infiniti ones. (Japanese guys on the other hand think the Infiniti badges are different [read: Infiniti G35 isnt sold in Japan] so they must be good.)

    Whoretown Japan....

They're just BB gun pellets... they just leave a couple of red marks, no worries!
  7. Hi Ken, welcome It's funny, I just registered over at GTRCanada...
  8. ... Skylines are cheaper there? How can that be? Don't they have to convert them to left hand drive? I really don't like the sound of Skylines being so expensive in Australia... well I see them all day every day here in Japan so I guess the image of them isn't as special as they used to be for me...

    Money Question

Yep, this is what I did in my the very first few months I was in Japan. You're kinda hanging around the main areas (where the ATMs are) and constantly thinking about how much you've got on you, but I remember carrying about $3,000 worth of travellers checks with me for the first month or so... I was my own ATM

    Money Question

I don't know about you guys, but I think more and more and more places in Japan (Osaka/Kobe at least) are accepting (read: have facilities) credit cards, and more and more "international" type ATMs are popping up. Well compared to 4 - 5 years ago definately. I any underground mall or adjacent to one of the larger banks you're bound to find a "Cirrus/Maestro" ATM. But as far as the SAU traveller is concerned, the larger 2nd hand shops and of course SuperAB and tuning shops all take credit card. As do software shops, clothing, souvenir shops, restaurants etc, etc, etc. So you don't have to carry heaps of cash on you... but of course save yourself the fees and carry all your cash on you
  11. Eh? Who does it look like? I get lots of Japanese girls saying "Brad Pitt/Leonardo DiCaprio/Kevin Bacon/Tom Cruise mixed-o togezzah"...
  12. I... honestly... hope your right.Part of the "breakaway" process from the bad old days of Nissan overspending and over development is designing cars that aren't linked visually with their predecessors. Hence the piss-poor efforts at reproducing the hotplates up until now amongst other things. This of course is all Carlos Ghosns doing, he seems to come up with most of the "sh!t" decisions at Nissan these days... not all of them (well Nissan management decided on Ghosn didn't they???)... but most of them

Which country did you go to? That might have something to do why you came out on top?

    Money Question

Eh? I don't get it... if change your AU$ to US$, your going to get less US$ to buy Yen with, therefore getting the same amount of Yen as you would if you changed directly from AU$ to Yen??? (assuming the exchange rate doesn't change for a few days) In fact you'd be losing on the bank fees because they'll charge you twice for changing the currency twice??? It's ealy in the morning guys be kind if I've got it all wrong... :coffee:
  16. Normally I'd recommend you use the Search function and read a few threads before coming on here and asking an age old question... but I just did a search on your behalf myself and it seems you'd have to go through threads with a fine tooth comb to get any hard info... Anyway, what you'll find is that the biggest (and best) difference between an R32 GTS and GTS-t is the TURBO + Intercooler on the GTS-t (hence the "t"). GTS are just like a "non-turbo" version of the GTS-t. BUT... the GTS-t Type M is the top dog of GTS-ts. The Type M has 4-pot brakes up front and an LSD standard. **Note: GTS-ts are not as common as GTS-t Type Ms. Most of the turbo R32s you'll see will either be GTS-t Type Ms or GTS-4s. The Type M was released at the same time as the GTS-t, as a result alot of buyers couldn't see the justification is saving a few thousands of Yen and missing out on the better brakes and LSD. The Type M was considered a car ranked just below the GT-R at the time (the frist series R32 GT-R) and about as close as you can get to a GT-R without buying one. In a nutshell, theres not much major differences between the GTS and GTS-t ohter than what I typed above... can some of the GTS guys answer too... Shan maybe?
  17. Yeah, and now your as good as gone (back to AU) aren't ya? What am I gonna do now? I need some gaijin backup here in Japan so it doesn't look like we're making all this up...
  18. I'll be proudly wearing SAU's uber-coolness Trucker Hat to TAS '05:
  19. :wavey: It's a burnt chicken nugget
  20. 6 out of 6 things I've bought on Yahoo have been exactly what the seller has listed/photographed. I guess I must be lucky then...
  21. I'll add them to my growing list of innacurate "near enough is good enough... they'll still buy the mag!" tell-a-few-porkies-for-more-sales crap Aussie enthusaist mags.
  22. I'd get one but is there any way you can remove the "Melbourne" logo? You Melbourne wierdos always dump on Perth so I'd rather not be seen sporting anything with Smellbourne on it. Seen? *edit: theres no Melbourne logo is there... oh sh!t...
  23. But back on topic, me and Troy have "tech days", usually him watching me slice my fingers apart for no particular reason while installing all manner of gadgets. We've/I've done: 2-DIN car audio and speakers, air filter, strut brace, intercooler, front lip, rear spoiler, wheels and tyres, center console... all done in public carparks aswell! We're in Osaka though so chances of meeting up are slim.
  24. You haven't read the thread have you?
  25. I don't know! Ask Google!
