  1. For over 3k I can think of some mods that are more worthwhile, like a new clutch and 2-way LSD. That is the problem, so expensive and the lens covers are still plastic!
  2. Wow, great work. Glad to see you guys are wearing the appropriate PPE (i.e. safet boots = thongs), haha. Great photos, we should all have a mate like DAZMO who can screw together an RB!
  3. Didn't mean you personally (unless you represent the entire Australian car industry). And I could not agree more with the quote, hopefully it will happen like that! Silver S3 FTW!!!!!!!! (swap headlamps for the ones from my S1... please?)
  4. The style is the way it is (disgusting) because we have followed Americans in how to build and customise cars... how that was a mistake! Have a look at the American car industry now, bending over and taking right up the mud cave.
  5. Purple Skyline GTS, chrome rims... "come out" is the right expression!
  6. If he was on here I am embarrassed for him, is it just me or should chrome wheels and skylines keep away from each other? Your S3 is the best looking out of them all by a long way.
  7. Not worth the effort, rather get brand new anyway!
  8. $42 for a pair of "tapered ball joint seats". Better than over $500 each for complete arms! Found it on FAST and asked for the specific number (43173), oh right...
  9. I got FAST too but I have not really used it. Will have a look myself. Thanks mate.
  10. Yeah using an oxy and a puller will be my last options. I tried to source replacement LCA ball joints but Nissan do not list the parts separately (unless I missed something), Nissan list the complete rear LCA as a separate part. But hey, please prove me wrong!!!!! Thanks
  11. Gday, After a set of standard strut tops off a R33 GTR. My R33 GTR came with Nismo suspension (which I have sold) and I am ready to install some Bilsteins but I need the standard strut tops to fit the springs. Contact via PM or mobile 0432 562 025 Will pay cash if local, thanks. Mike
  12. Gday, Maybe someone could shed some light on this for me please. Car is a R33 GTR, I have removed the old lower control arm ball joints (turned out easier than I thought) and now I have realised that the replacement part does not have the tapered male socket that fits snugly into the rear axle housings. Are the tapered sockets (probably not the right terminology) removable from the old ball joints? I have spend some "hammer time" in trying to separate them but got no love. Anyone have a similar experience? Photos attached, new on the left (Superpro), old on the right. Mike
  13. Come on Guilt-Toy, back yourself
  14. Are those photos somewhere for you to share? That would be fantastic to see in the flesh, lucky you. Imagine having some ex V8 Supercar engineers messing around helping some Australian TA teams!
  15. Forgetting the impracticalities of having a car that is so low on the road for a second... There seems to be two issues when it comes to lowering a GTR too much, poor driveshaft angle and suspension geometry issues (which I do not understand completely). However, what could you do to fix the driveshaft and suspension problems and lower the car enough to make a desirable difference to underbody aero. How is it that cars like the Mspeed R34 and Prostock R34 have such a low ride height...? Sorry, may be a dumb question but I am still learning too
  16. Wow, ok, I am going to start saving for the Nitto, JE combo! Thanks Mr. Bomberman.
  17. A 6000-8500rpm power band would not be very useful, interesting to drive a couple of times but I think it would get boring pretty quick. Interesting to find out how much head work you would need to get the most out of it though, and how it would influence the width of the powerband.
  18. I think Dirtgarage uses 1/2" studs on Twoogle? Hope the build is going well.
  19. I love the look of your car, one of the better looking R33 GTS I have seen!
  20. I read the install guide and it says to do it with an air chisel... decided to have a go myself without one and ended up getting the front out bushes out with a flat screwdriver and hammer (manual air chisel)... haha
  21. Pedders wanted to charge me $20 for each bushing they would press out. I said yeah no worries (insert sarcasm) and ended up doing it myself. Yes it took longyer, yes I have higher blood pressure as a result. But I saved near $500 and love my car even more! As above, do what you can, search the forums and ask for advice from people who know.
  22. That is a "half empty" outlook shanef, a "half full" approach would be to up the spec of you rebuild and go for 500kW+...
  23. Thanks for the plug Mr Baron SOLD!!!!!!!!
  24. That v-max crank looks awesome!!! Considering it is discontinued would the license for Fardon to produce cranks for Apexi also be negated, so theoretically could you get Fardon to make you an identical "equivalent" (i.e. like the Garrett -9's and HKS GT-SS)??? Anyway, awesome build so far! Good luck...
