  1. If I caught a flame exiting my exhaust like that on camera, I would have no problems blowing my own trumpet.... AWESOME!!!
  2. What did they quote you? If they are "awfully cheap" I will go and buy them tomorrow!!!!! Mike
  3. WOW!!!!!!!!! You are patient! Is your name Jebus?
  4. +1 for a Vipec, go the V88!!!!
  5. What was the reason for the Atessa not working? What needed to be done to fix it? Mike
  6. I have heard/read good things about Rhemac Motors, I am pretty sure they do all their machining in house. Anyway, let us know where you go and how it all goes! Mike
  7. You got a clean looking 32 man, I live on the street I pulled out of this morning. West sayyyiiidd!
  8. Spotted a Black R32 GTS, spot it/him every other morning down Streeters Rd!
  9. Will do man, if you see a stock looking wine red R33 GTR Vspec that is me. I agree with your last statement too!
  10. Whether countless $'s were spent or not, no one can confirm that. Yes there are reasons, one may be for marketing purposes, probably among other geniune reasons (from a performance/efficiency standpoint), but there are obvious disadvantages in comparison with a well designed single set up. Anyway, Cubes it is good people can discuss things like this without getting personal and/or frustrated and say something stupid. So thanks mate. Are you an Adelaide boy? Might see you around. Mike
  11. Yes but the same can be said for a single at higher rpm where you have double the flow rate of gasses to accerate larger wheel. Note I said a larger wheel and not a wheel, double the size. Personally, I am not fussed either route to make 300-350kw I just want to take which ever route is better (in the future some time), from an efficiency stand point. To me, a single eliminates trying to merge high velocity gas streams (and if you have seen what it looks like in slow motion using fluid mechanics techniques you will cringe), elimates heat transfer from the front turbo to the inlet of the rear, gets rid of pressure losses from extra piping and is not so crammed especially when you have big ham fists like me. Who started this thread? Man, just go the small single! Mike
  12. Easier, maybe. Not to work on that is for sure. But, cheaper, definitely! Everyone loves stuff that is cheap and good, I know I do. Don't forget, you are spinning a smaller wheel yes, but, with only 3 cylinders. Mike
  13. Yeah, I would love to see it set up sweet on a GTR though. In the states ATP and Full-race do split pulse housings for the GT30 series of turbines, I am pretty sure. Definately interesting and a great option in my opinion. Mike
  14. I think one of the main reasons behind not many people going the smallish/mid single when aiming for 300-350kw is that it is so easily done with twins. That being said, a single pumping out those figures would be awesome, it would more efficient than twins, and that is not physics its fluid dynamics and heat transfer! I want someone to do it already so they can be a test mule for others. Mike
  15. I have a R33 GTR with 230awkw, completely stock other than a cat back and an aftermarket ecu. I get about 420kms (I have not been tough enough to let it get on the E-line either). That is with "normal" driving with the occasional squirt. Mike PS: on BP Ultimate
  16. You are a good one for keeping secrets Paul, and releasing bits of information, haha. - What material? - Where did you get the design from? - How do you know what tolerance to machine to? I am sure there are more... that should keep everyone going.
  17. I think it is a great idea if it is possible for the pump housing to suit the strengthened (possibly larger) gears. Buy a new N1 pump (or possibly standard) and replace the gears with some CNC machined ones out of some very tough alloy would be a viable option. Also, because the pump does not have an increased flow rate (like the Jun and Tomei ones) you may not have to worry so much about increasing the capacity of your sump (less $$$). Not sure how everything fits into the pump but you would want to have an idea on the tolerances for the gears other wise you will end up that famous creek without a paddle.
  18. No worries. Ring up a dealer and find out on price, PM me if you like and I can tell you exactly what I paid. Mike
  19. Adaptor loom is around $350 from memory. I am not sure what ball park it is, you paying for a very user friendly and well priced ecu in comparison to Motec for example. Brett West who tuned my car can not speak highly enough of them. He had an Evo 8 in his workshop and he worked on it for weeks trying to get it right (and thats $$$). The M800 in the Evo 8 would still hunt for idle while my V88 on my GTR would be idling away smoothly. A plug in no longer exists for the Autronic ecus (and you will have to run wasted spark) so you still need to wire up a adaptor loom. Have I convinced you yet? Mike
  20. You can wire in a high/low switch and set up a boost table to suit. Only the V88 has knock control, that is correct. Don't worry about the "stealth" look, you can't see my V88 ecu unless you start ripping apart the interior carpets etc. Mike
  21. Hey mate, Give us an update, single turbo now? What power you chasing, what single, etc etc..? (This is all interesting stuff for people like me who are still undecided on what to do with their GTR) Good luck!
  22. Some one give these krouts a tissue. A good read and quite funny. If I was a Porchse owner I would be embarrassed. Mike
  23. The guys at RHD have been more than helpful with the things I have ordered from them. Out of however many hundreds of orders they put through on the huge range of parts they have, some part for some customer might be a bit late. Not a nice feeling but sit tight man I am sure you will recieve your stuff. Definately not a scam!
  24. Your plugs might be fouled from just starting it and letting it idle in the garage. Fresh fuel, check/clean or replace plugs for a start. Mike
  25. Thanks for that, very informative. I am loving your posts VspecR33 your journey to find out which path you want to take with your GTR is very interesting and it helps people like me who have no idea what they want to do just yet. Good luck mate! Mike
