  1. Cheers Brendan good work getting vids, I'll pm you and see if we can't sort that out and post a vid up..
  2. If your looking at Dunlop, check out the Dunlop P600, there were developed for the new GTR but also come in an 18", had them on a GTR and they gripped like shit ( really well )
  3. Good to meet some SAUWA guys last night with the new rules now, there was fast cars there, saw quite few deep in the 10's.. not any Skylines thought I'd try it with semi slicks. felt like a rocket after a bit of spin but still only 1.9, 60 foots I can't work it out I was running more boost and car felt good, but still couldn't match my previous best with less boost on a 34degree night best I got last night was 11.60 @ 122mph spoke to a proper drag racer down there who said the strong head wind and very high humidity, has quite an effect on everything, ( like I said tho, still other guys running 10's ) anyway back to the same spot tonight for the Mcrae Rally Sprint, more suited to my setup,. How'd the rest of you guys end up ? Wesley, Bren444 ? I had one run after the burnouts and left while I still had some clutch left for tonight.. saw you guys were still lining up for more runs ?
  4. From memory about 300. that was a while ago. Just ordering some 255/50/19. For wife's kluger and the freight is $335 So basically getting continentals for the price of a much cheaper brand locally. Only time will tell if they are better than the bridgestones that are coming off. Having only done 30k with obviously no track work ?
  5. Go the 3.4L stroker. I know someone who might have a brand new unused kit for sale.
  6. Tirerack for quality tyres at the price of average tyres locallly, but only worth it if your getting top end stuff, very happy with my tirerack purchase, of Michelin Pilot Sport, excellent grip and wear, $650 each locally or $1400 for a full set delivered I'll be trying Pirelli P-zero next time.. tirerack fan boy also
  7. Good idea, I'll try and be there around 5.30-6. traffic is a bitch going down there everyone got SAUWA stickers ?
  8. Wow that's a massive change and a out time they got with the times. Of course it was bound to happen after I payed the $150 for a SS license ?
  9. Another consideration is if you go the targa route it's not a car that will be driven on the road. Also if you haven't done any events ( not sure if you have) I'd say you are a long way off doing targa. Just build 28,30 or 32 stroker with a single, there will be plenty of response and top end with gt35 or similar and then there is heaps or local events and series to race in ( not a once a year targa west or tassy ) and there are no restrictions on displacement etc
  10. Heller what rules have changed ??
  11. yep this has been my experience, especially on the track, once hot they are useless, heres what I found after a bit of Googling: Burnouts are traditionally used to warm up a car’s tires before a drag race. Warming up the tires makes the rubber softer increasing traction and also cleans the tires of road debris like gravel – further increasing traction. Slicks or drag radials are needed for a burnout to have noticeable results on the track, as burnouts using street tires do little more than make smoke and destroy rubber.
  12. ah the 32 Pretty sure warmup skids are only of benefit if your running drag rubber somebody correct me if I'm wrong, from my experience, once normal road tyres are hot, the grip goes down hill.. Hey but still fun
  13. Thats a bugger Michael, I have a couple of worn-out clutches in the shed, one has the standard flywheel if you are wanting one...? And Matt, is there a Tutu with those pom poms
  14. I hope its a nice soft set-up to allow it to squat.
  15. Cool... if its not bedded in properly know, it will be by the time you drive home on wednesday
  16. Garrett USA , don't want to cut his lunch but ( Gav in WA ) has just ordered/got a set off garrett @ Sema to replace his -5's, they are slightly bigger but not -10's +1 to the OP, the same guy above has smashed a couple of OS boxes and was told by OS the centre plate would stop that from happening, could be $1000 well spent..
  17. yeah that sounds like the only way to go, cheers guys
  18. I have just put A/C back in the car and now trying to sort out the idle pick up when compressor kicks in. ? its got a hyper tune intake but still has the aac valve under the manifold, the Motec doesn't seem to control the idle so I would think thats controlled by the standard computer ( Blitz Access ) also, assuming the idle is through the Blitz, can't the idle be altered in there ? No, not looking to get rid of Motec
  19. well I'm married TO4Z, external plumbed back, just steps down for de-cat then back up to 3.5",
  20. ditto ^^ I have 5" dump with 3.5" exhaust, steps down to 3" at the de-cat making around 600rwhp p.s. no e85,
  21. ok heres a basic question for anyone how has had anything to do with computers, .. I have a Blitz Access in my R33 GTR with a Motec m800 running fuel ingnition etc, the Blitz runs the idle control I believe ? this is what I need to mess with, how do I get into it and what do I need to do so, ( cables, programs etc ) ????
  22. if your in Vic, Competition Gearboxes in Croydon, I've had a few rebuilt, and most expensive was $800
  23. well done Matt, I was just going mention that one , Just did entry for McRae on Clubracer, makes entering easy
  24. Always. I take it out for grocery etc so kinda like a daily anyway. You dont really need a lot of money to enjoy a gtr really. A good clutch and retune (performance mod) will make you smile everytime you drive it. My advise is get what you can afford and budget for rainy days. When it comes to car, you typically get what you pay for (not saying impossible to get something thats good and cheap). I would always look for a basic car with good mods and untouched engine. you take the bus to work, so no, nothing like a daily yes you don't need a lot of money to enjoy a GTR, if you keep it in the shed and only drive it on the weekend.. start doing 20k kms a year and see how the costs go up.. to the OP, whatever you get, if it is your daily don't go nuts on mods or it will lose its reliability, not to mention petrol
