  1. yeah I'm just about ready for another blast.. payed for the SS license so might aswell get some runs out come on there must be more peeps that want to race and see what their car can do ??? maybe if we call it a "cruise" we'll get more interest
  2. yeah, Join Nolimits, its like $15 a year for membership, they are CAMS affiliated.. and run good events, check out their website, they are running Hill Climbs ATM while Bardagalllos is being worked on ( only the pits and facilities unfortunately ) and once that is finished back to monthly Track nights, a great way to get plenty of seat time . also: Macrae motorsport twilight Rally sprint series is another good one MCmotorsport at RAC driving centre also hold a few events.. start with Nolimits its the best and easiest way to get licensed and out there,, bound to see you at an event this summer if you get into it, so come up and make yourself known
  3. 8 hours they are tripping, on a mates hoist by myself with a gearbox lift ( hired for $40 ) last time did it, drive in, drive out in under 5 hours and I'm no mechanic saying that tho, first time on my shed floor, pretty much took all weekend... couldn't get the box off, then couldn't get it back on its all a learn curve, give it a go I printed off a couple of DIY tutorials off here, very useful
  4. did they give any explanation,? or use a different material this time ? I used to do it heaps with my old JB single, got the point where every time I launched even with no riding the clutch it would weld
  5. you reckon, ? the oil cooler gets pretty hot and its sitting right next to the cold exit of the intercooler
  6. Make sure you spend some time around Niseko, if you like the snow? Its a bit western'isd but food and people are excellent. We didn't go anywhere else in japan, maybe next time.. hire an R35.
  7. just got back from Singapore then Snowboarding in Japan ( snow was epic ) then Brisbane on way home, highly recommend Niseko for skiing. now bali for a week in feb for friends b'day..
  8. spewing, yeah might have given that nudge ? had to go to mates wedding what were the rest of the results? who got the money?
  9. Nobody will be able to give you any idea until you know what turbos you have, could vary hundreds of hp between -7's and -5's for example...But with the right turbos, with all that gear it should be capable of good power
  10. It was one of Jim's. Tried a couple with no luck. Don't want to bag Jim out, he does seem like a good and very knowledgable guy. I just didn't find the heavy single and AWD very agreeable, although there will be plenty of people out there on either side of the fence Sounds like you'll be able to make your own decision soon enough
  11. well there is quite a bit of difference, in your GTS under load or shock the first thing to let go is your 2 rear tyres, do the same in a GTR and if all 4 tyres don't let go then maybe something else will, for me that was the clutch followed by the gearbox ( heavy single ) to get the singles to hold that much power they usually make them with very heavy clamp ( doesn't always mean heavy peddle due to how they set them up ) my old heavy sprung centre single used to hit like a sledgehammer on the drive train if not babied, more so than the solid centre triple I run now.. maybe the NPC one will be different, good luck anyway
  12. he said he's making 455rwkw, you'll hear horror stories from any brand.. I had a couple with Jim's.... no point getting into that... with that power go a multi plate, with over 600rwhp in a GTR with literally 100's of 7-8k launchs and over 20000kms, and still going I can vouch for the OS Giken 3SC ( triple plate ) not the easiest to drive but you get used to it. my2cents
  13. Just did a pretty custom air/con job on my car with Jimmy and I can definitely recommend him , did an excellent job for A great price. Really looking forward to seeing your RB34 Jimmy
  14. you can get inconnel studs from GCG ( turboedsloth posted a link earlier in the thread ) not sure if they have the length you are chasing?? surely you need a bolt not a stud, not sure if you could screw one of those oval crush lock nuts on either end of a stud, I've tried pretty much everyone locally that came up on google.... and nobody sells inconnel bolts off the shelf, they have round bar etc and only machine up bolts to order for industry, aero etc would be bloody expensive for the quantities we are wanting.. I see you are in Ireland, I thought you might be able to find somewhere up there...? obviously not.. If anyone has better luck than me, post it up here for everyone
  15. nah they don't inconnel bolts, just studs which you couldn't use for turbo to manifold ?
  16. I've just spent half an hour on google, with no joy, any idea where to get inconel bolts in australia ??
  17. high tensile has nothing to do with heat resistance. but like I said, if its not a track car and doesn't see prolonged crazy high temps they will be fine..
  18. going through the same thing as we speak, Just spoke to a guy, Brad from Atomic performance 02 86655889 they have what you need... MTQ don't have anything special, just standard bolts with a squash locking nut.. if its a pretty standard setup and doesn't see lots of heat should be ok tho.. otherwise try Atomic
  19. your too kind Trev I've been wanting to get it on a roller too... might just have to pay for a couple of runs somewhere. and sort out the hub v roller thing.
  20. Bugger I thought I'd be in this, but just received an invite to a mates wedding on that day
  21. Ok Fair enough
  22. so when you know a car is going to be stuck a hoist for a few days, instead of rolling it off you just cancel all your other jobs and say can't do your job mate theres a car on the hoist
  23. whats your point..? why pay someone $120per/hour to take ya front bar off ? any monkey can do that. maybe the workshops shouldn't have been so greedy in the first place, I mean $120per/hour to have an apprentice *( half the time ) work on ya car, I'm a business owner and I know there are overheads but come on............
  24. good luck Paul.. no excuses, looks like the OP has been ripped.....not the first.. at said workshop I got verbal quote of $3-$3.5K to do an engine swap, went to pick car up and the price had gone to $6.5K .................be warned
  25. its under the dash on the drivers side, near the door, there will be 2 connectors with 1 wire in and out each, to work out which one it is, with the ignition on disconnect 1 at a time and listen for the transfer pump , obviously the one that triggers the pump is the right one.. Its pretty easy to just disconnect the connector, I don't think its worth putting a switch on it.. Also not sure what type of diff you have, but if its electronic at all when you do this it will also take out the diff so it will be a single pegger if its mechanical no worries
