Below is a method recommended to me as an alternative to pulling the front drive shaft out, for dyno runs, etc For an R33 GTR Locate the air bleed plug over the drivers feet, this is normally used to bleed the ATTESA system (disconnect plug, turn key to ON, pump runs flat out so you can get under and crack the bleed nipples). However, if you disconnect this plug, START the car, then hit the brake pedal 5x times (just keep pressing it until 4WD light starts flashing). This tells the ATTESA controller to go into 2WD mode (it is one of the two methods outlined in the 33GTR manual, the other is dropping the shaft). If the 4WD light starts flashing, you're in 2WD mode. If you start rolling and get a SOLID 4WD light, then that has thrown an error (most likely didn't push brake pedal enough times). To go back into 4WD mode, simply turn car off and reconnect plug. Is that method going to be safe for the transfer case, has anyone used this method for any period of time with no transfer issues?? thoughts

absolutely this, cheapest way to make power..

sounds like you had the same problem as every other falcon and commodore there, smoked them all, 1000hp seems pointless if you can't get traction

Can't remember his name but nice guy and mint 32 built motor with a TO4Z, 500 or 550rwph

Torque Split Control With Motec
tricstar replied to TwinTurboM3's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I would say yes it could be done, you would need to speak to "MountainRunner" made the Ruzic torque split converters which basically do what you want, altho they also use the G-meter and Atessa computers. I don't think he makes them anymore but might still be around here? -
cheers Oz yeah I'll be around, give me a first to make sure 0411861466.. It should deffinately fit straight in, it did with mine, bring it round I just remembered we did trim a bracket, bring it round I'll show you

wow that was sooooo much fun, what a blast, you just can't do that stuff every day and the car is probably happy about that.. was good to meet some of the boys, in particular Haraldo and Snoozle, I got some footage of you (Haraldo ) lining up against that ute altho you can't see much but smoke from the ute, I've got editing to do so I'll post up a vid when it done.. got to go in lots of cars, all of them really impressive, drove Gavs GTR brilliant ! got to be one the most sorted GTR's around. , went in Trents wide body 32, Matts 26/30 sleeper, surprise package, Kevs LC Torana ( LC I think ) Built 308, 5K high stall with a quick shifter and a 100 shot of nos and MT streets, not the fastest car there but got my vote for the most fun, we did heaps of laps in that and I loved it And finally one I will never forget, Chris's LC Torana ( again LC I think ) with a 7 or 8 litre V8 and the biggest turbo you have ever seen with something like 1300hp atw, I'm still trying to get my head around that thing will definately put this on next years calendar..

Best Place To Get Tune On Fresh Built Motor
tricstar replied to danny14's topic in Western Australia
A mate with an RB28 running 26psi and e85 with big cams and a shit load of head work made 630rwhp, so with your setup on pump98, and similar boost I'd expect around 550rwhp but thats really a guess -

Heres some video ( shit footage because in the dark ) with some good pointers from Carl ( think I made a mess of the spelling of his name ) which could be useful to others, so thought I'd share, I knocked 2.5seconds off in the next run, after being out with Carl.. I'll let him do some laps in mine next time and see what it can really do yeah short track is nicely lite but the long track flows much better and its only one corner in the dark, its a bit daunting for the first few laps but ok after that..
-
wow your not wrong, it was pitch black and even on high beam it was a bit tricky. Still long track is so much better, so fast, 5th gear coming down the back straight, had a quick glance at the speedo was over 230kph had Carl Ridler come for a few laps and give me some pointers, he was very helpful, and his advise made a lot of sense and when put into practice dropped a couple of seconds, he said my GTR had about same exceleration as a V8 supercar . fastest long track and pb for me 65.2, and short track 56.0.... both quickest for the night was an excellant turn out with about 40 cars, can't wait for the next one, hope your ready for it Paul

Help With Exploded Gearbox
tricstar replied to Craigr32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
nah its one that bolts the bellhousing up, looks like a long way to the next bolt if you don't have that one, I would consider welding something on to bolt up to, but yeah new spigot bush and clean up any burs with a file and flywheel should bolt up alright, you shore it was a standard clutch and not a standard clutch revamp? -
holy shit, after looking at the courses, I think a honda civic or something like that would be the car of choose, not a high powered skyline.. looking out over the course would be like looking at a sea of cones, reckon I would wrong way every one of them. good luck

Getting A Car Transported From Perth To Sydney
tricstar replied to iwanta34gtr's topic in Western Australia
yeah I used CEVA a few times, pay a bit extra for the premium or race car service for cars too low to go up the ramps of the trucks, and it goes into a container at one end and doesn't come til the other..it was only a couple hundred more..
