  1. Not trying to be funny. But. What the differences between series 1,2 &3 I had a 3 & 1 and apart from the different colored stitching, I can think of any other, certainly not bumpers.?
  2. Fuelab pumps adjustable speed. I have the 1500hp rated one and can hardly hear it at idle and low speeds. And you never notice it at full noise
  3. Mm. Front diff definately a possibility or maybe transfer case problem? Could it be the transfer actuator? Easiest way to narrow it down even more would be take out the front shaft and see if that makes any diff? I have also had similar symptoms with wrong TPS. But that's not what you have.
  4. Yeah. 1.8bar, no bov, flutters like crazy. None of that is by choose, just the way I bought it. But that turbo has done about 40k kms like that.
  5. That's been covered many times. Do a search. There are very varying opinions on them. Most would opt for a multiplate at that level.
  6. Yeah I get what you mean with regards to the springs, guess I'm just pinning my hopes that the springs are strong enough to do their job and absorb some of the shock. And interesting on the Transfer fluid. Good to know there's something even better if needed.
  7. So IF the springs aren't strong enough to absorb the shock, then it would be the same as unsprung? Wouldn't it? No better, no worse? What's wrong with Matic-D ? Ive never had any issues with it. Whereas when I tried some others that were recommended they didn't handle it ( boiled I think )
  8. Took my r33 gtr over the pits with factory zenons, no one said anything, no problem.
  9. Yeah your heading down the right track in regards to clutch etc. I just changed from an OS giken triple , just like your quad. It destroyed more than half a dozen gearboxes including 2 OS Giken gearsets. I loved the feel of it and had no problems driving it, but anyone that just hoped in to have drive did struggle a lot!! Hopefully the sprung centre will be the difference and help the rest of the driveline.
  10. She's going good. Pretty much anybody can drive the car now. This clutch is just so easy to drive compared to some others.
  11. Good choice! Very streetable and a bit forgiving on the drivetrain
  12. Haha. That's pretty much what I thought was going on as per post #11. Good investigating Might be worth flushing the system completely all the way through to where it screws into the transfer.
  13. That is how noisy the magnafuel pro tuner 525 was. Whereas the Fuelab (1500hp) pump can't even be heard at idle (only running at 22%), wish I did it ages ago.
  14. Second hand boxes are pretty cheap $600-$1000. And only about $1k give or take to rebuild depending on what's smashed. Less power is not an option once you've been there.
  15. EFR = Engineered For Race Had a turbonetics GTK850 on my 2.8L, dam thing hit really hard around 4500rpm and made 760hp on an engine dyno at 26psi on 98 with 10% meth. But think they are probably a bit old tech now, compared to something like the EFR's.
  16. I have a TO4Z on a 2.8L and I couldn't agree more with the comments above.
  17. I'm just getting a Fuelab external. They have a built in speed control, 0-5v input which I'd imagine most ECU's could deal with. Could be worth a look.
  18. Been running around 450rwkw for nearly 50k kms with old TO4Z garret at 1.8bar on 98 and 2.8L, 132mph good drivability but most of the power if after 4k with old tech turbo and 272cams. Better cams would bring power band down
  19. Yep had the same thing with Carbonetics Twin plate. Instructions even said before hard driving "slip clutch 3-4 times to warm up", was shit couldn't even over take without it flaring. Track clutch only. Took it straight out.
  20. Sounds like u could be rotating too far, to early. I also undo the cooler pipe from turbo ( single ) and pipe from front of intake mani so when engine drops back it doesn't put too much pressure them.
  21. Yeah no need to undo engine mounts. You need to support the box to the point where there not to much weight on the input shaft so as you rotate and lower at the same time it will slide off the shaft. Can sometimes need a little help to get started with a big screw driver, but be ready cause when it does let go,
  22. If you get the right kit from new it will come with the correct bear etc Company's like OS giken and others only make push clutches, so sometimes to run a really serious clutch you might need to go push. I've changed between the 2 many times and the OS Giken pull to push kit is literally a few bolts and a different fork.
  23. Shit this is my second GTR and I have never seen the air pocket, so just went to take photo with my phone and bugger me if it doesn't show up that little white ring ( only about 5mm ) couldn't really see it until the flash went off. So I will stand corrected. Sorry for the bum steer.
