  1. Looks like the little arm that moves the vq45 tps is mounted on a D shaped shaft, can't you just take that off and the old tps mount and slide the new one on?
  2. Regardless of what brakes on the standard one, you need an after market with that power and hitting the strip. Quafies seem to be pick of the bunch ATM, but I have an OS giken 2 way which works a treat everywhere. What ever you get you'll love it, grip is amazing. And if you're not getting grip now until 4th ? What sort of plastic Tyres are you running
  3. More to the point, with near 500rwkw it must walk all over the place coming on boost ?? An LSD will not only help get the power down, but help keep it straight. Obviously they are stronger, not sure how long a standard front diff will last at that power.?
  4. If it's similar to the 33 ( which I don't imagine the transfercase is much different) just like doing a gearbox or diff, undo the plug at the bottom to drain and then the plug near the top to fill. If ??? It's like the 33 you can fill through the gear stick hole if necessary? But that's the bit you might want to check, not sure with the getrag? Either way it doesn't affect the fluid in the reservoir in the boot.
  5. Yeah the R3C is savage ( and has seen off half a dozen gearboxes ) but I've done about 40k kms in a few years and am impressed with its durability. For example: the other day I limiter launched twice in second thinking I was in Rwd but was in max 4wd . I reckon that would be enough to fry most clutches. I do agree the R3C isn't the right clutch for us, but in the right application ( not sure what that is ) I reckon it would be awesome.
  6. Yeah savage clutch. No short shifter. Might try it again after I change clutch. The Cyro itself only cost about $300
  7. just tried that.. didn't last one Rally Sprint..
  8. Really hd singleplate causing wining noise etc when driving in gears and clutch is fully engaged ie foot not on pedal ??Any other gearbox guys ( Corey ) comment on this.?
  9. Go back thru that link I posted and on the second page there is pic of the connector you are looking for. Should be the brown one. Just replace that with a switch. Have a good read of all 3 pages. Good luck at the drags. Let us know what u run.
  10. pretty much, but the plug you are looking for is tucked up near the bonnet release. I've had 2 R33's and on the 97 series3 it was yellow wires white plug, but on my 95 it is yellow wire brown plug, its just a connector with one wire out either side..
  11. Putting R33 Gtr Into Rwd ? check this link...its all been covered before..
  12. After reading this thread. Why would you even risk your $20k+ bottom end when there are products on the market that don't seem to have the same issues.
  13. if it is a R32 box and the fuse is pulled so pump can't prime, it will be rwd just like an R32.. there is also another method outlined in the workshop manual which involves pulling the bleed connection, which is above your right knee when in drivers seat, then when you turn the ignition on press the brake pedal 5 times quickly and awd light will flash and you are in rwd... either will be fine or install Full Race ETS pro controller, has a switch, much easier
  14. Jesus Christ. Do a search and see how many pages come up........
  15. Could be any number of things. Can't see that type of gearbox or brand of clutch would play any part. But the fact that it goes away when input shaft stops spinning ( clutch depressed ) means there's a good chance it's inside the box, main shaft or lay shaft bearing. It's a box out, maybe rebuild job. Not nesisarily a big job $$ pull the box out yourself and get rebuilt for less than a grand.
  16. Well I think it was Piggas who had/has Nismo behind his 2.8 with that kind of power, and after 30k kms and hundreds of launches it came out, was looked at and went straight back in. So will handle the power and last. Just get the comp. version.
  17. you can hear it go at about 2.07minutes, then had to finish in 2nd
  18. OK I have something to report..... box lasted 2 weeks O-: did a rally sprint on thursday night and striped both 3rd gear gears..i wasn't exactly being gentle..and still have harsh clutch, so will change that before trying anything else.
  19. certainly doesn't need to be a triple, a twin or even single will handle that power, just needs to be rated for it..
  20. did you get manifold, spacer and turbo surfaced when you replaced the gasket last time.. one of the surfaces may be warped
  21. oddly enough I have one of them in shed also O-; it was fine with 400rwhp in a GTR but only lasted 5k kms and started slipping.. if its for ya mates GTR with around 450rwkw, doubt it would hold. don't think they're worth rebiulding, unless someone like Jim rebuilds and sups up..I really should throw it out..
  22. Got a carbonetics twin carbon push near new, didn't hold 600rwhp. Or JB single 4200lb clamp, pull, needs rebuild ( should only cost few hundred) Pm if any interest
  23. i could be thinking about this all wrong.. but wouldn't that just shorten all the gears by the same amount and not actually make the gap between gears closer, therefore not making a closer ratio ?
