  1. I'm just changing a few things for E85, and noticed my intank pump looks like standard ? car has surge tank with Magnafuel ProTuner 525 inline pump etc -8 feed, -6 return, I'm assuming standard pump as lift is not enough, so what pump should I be looking at ? To support 650+rwhp on E85
  2. still happening now, gears, shafts etc in cryo atm, should be ready to pick up friday.. cost of cryo was just under $300. we've also got a guy with a CNC machine etc making some billet centre plates, which could be of interest to others on here.. once I get one fitted and we're happy with it, I'll post up details of that too.. It's going to be hard to know if its worked ( the cryo ) only time will tell..
  3. obviously it shouldn't pop out, but maybe the clip was damaged on install? will be obvious when inspected. you could try unbolting the slave and see if the bearing clips back in? but if it is damaged it will probably pop out again.
  4. As you know the R32 GTR has no preload and the R33 GTR has some, but the 32/33 gtr gearbox/transfer case etc are exactly the same, ie. I;ve got a R32 gtr box in my R33 atm and everything is the same,,, ditto with the hydraulics aside from failsafe valve and A-LSD solenoid, the pre-load you speak of is completely controlled by the ETS computer. for example, I can adjust/control the pre-load through my Full Race ETS controller. So I'm not sure what preload adjuster you have seen...?
  5. where can I buy little cores like those? I'm about to do this know.. or maybe, do you sell a kit with cooler, shroud, mounts etc?? theres an idea

  12. yeah those rotors look ok.. I have K-sport 8-pots, same as D-2, what replacement rotors did you use and where did you get them $$??
  13. yep the evidence from the transmission guy I spoke to has convinced me that for an extra few hundred bucks, its worth a go . I'll let you know if it works, and maybe you'll be a believer
  14. any 32/33 box will do the job, series 3, 33 have better syncros, thats about it.. Simon at Competition Gearboxes is a top guy and will look after you,, he's fix half a dozen for me. the OS Billet centre plate does seem to be a good investment also, will be putting one in my OS box which I just smashed second in I have a question also : I'm getting a standard box that I've broken, rebuilt, and I've talking to a gearbox guy who is having good results with 4WD (Landcruisers or something) gearboxes, getting the crucial bits cryogenically frozen to harden the metals... has anyone tried? got any opinions on? its not expensive so I'm prepared to give it a go..
  15. yeah if TPS wires have been change with Power FC install?? then the Attessa could be getting the opposite signal ie. full throttle when there is no throttle and vise versa, have had this and they are the symptoms...ask installer if this is the case
  16. nah, after smashing 2 gearboxes in 1 weekend (Collie) I decided to step away from motorsport til I get my good gearbox fixed.. oddly enough I'm considering doing the drags tonight if its not rained out.. so if the box lasts that, maybe I will do McRae. I'll come down eitherway
  17. after many discussions with my turbo guy, that was my understanding also... Be interesting to see how these oil only Precisions last,, should be fine if shut down correctly.. I like the V-Band turbo/manifold idea too, should take care of any gasket issues. watching this thread with interest
  18. if I wasn't laughing, I'd be crying....
  19. yo Jimmy, hows that crazy setup coming along....and where do you get coilpacks bench tested? i've got a couple of sets of Splitfires I wouldn't mind getting tested..
  20. just to clarify what Lachy said... my car was tuned by GTI performance but I have some mech work done by TMS, which I was happy with..that was a while ago.. do all my own work now, except for tuning which I wish I could do also ( read what you want into that ) on the milage thing...I don't even get 300 to a tank
  21. wow you do some amazing stuff in here.... I have a question regarding the Carbon clutch... I've just taken out my Carbonetic twin due to the constant slipping when not hot..does the Exedy one require warming up before putting your foot into it? Its not very practical to have to warm the clutch up just to be able to overtake etc... even in the instructions, Carbonetic recommend slipping the clutch at 3-4k rpm, 3-4 times to warm it up before drive hard?
  22. we made our own winged ext. like the Hi-octane ones, out of 4mm plate and made a swing gate baffle and ext pick up. had it welded on by a pro, no baking, etc, just a good tig welder. never had any issues.. its definately doable if your a half decent welder, just leak test it with the special dye ( forget what its called, but really thin stuff that shows the finest seep ) also we didn't take the diff out and no probs. My current car has the Trust ext. and it does sit a bit low, low enough that I've worn off the bottom edge of the sump plug, and it doesn't hold much more than standard, but it has seen plenty of track and works.
