Hks Gt-rs Turbo Analysis For Rb-25 Engine
Turbz RB-25 replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Here's the formula if you want to calculate it yourself if you want to run above 20 PSI or below 14 PSI. Power (RWKW) = [6.83 x (Boost in PSI)] + 137.09 So for example, if I want to estimate my power running 12 PSI, I do the following: Power = (6.83 x 12) + 137.09 Power = 219 rwkw Remember, this formula is only applicable to an RB-25 Engine (eg R33) with a HKS GT-RS turbo along with your normal supporting mods (exhaust, front mount intercooler, fuel pump, computer etc) -
Hks Gt-rs Turbo Analysis For Rb-25 Engine
Turbz RB-25 replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Sl33py, Regression is some what different from averages, min/max values. By calculating max/min and average values, you cannot determine anything above or below that, only average boost and average power. In the simplest form, x (boost - independant variable) vs y (power - dependant variable) axis are plotted. From there, excel estimates a linear (best fit) curve that is best suited to all the inputed data. Thus, the equation is a simple linear one (y=mx+b), m being the gradient, x being the amount of boost, and b being the y-intercept. If anyone wants the 'Anova' print out from excel (the regression analysis) send me a PM and I will email it to you. The JPG picture is merely me filling in the 'x' (boost) value in the equation above and 'y' (power) value will be calculated. Cheers -
Hks Gt-rs Turbo Analysis For Rb-25 Engine
Turbz RB-25 replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I hope you can all see the picture with the output. When I have some more time I will do the same with the GCG High-flow and the HKS GT2835 Pro S. Cheers -
Hi guys, I conducted a regression analysis using the output figures and boost ran from the dyno thread relevant to the RB-25 engine with a HKS GT-RS Turbo. Basically, a regression analysis is a form of statistical modelling that attempts to evaluate the relationship between one variable (Boost - PSI) and another (Power output - RWKW). This data will help you 'predict' what sort of power you would get if you have an R33 GTS-T (RB-25 engine) with a HKS GT-RS turbo and other supporting mods of course (ie. Front Mount I/C, Full exhaust, Fuel pump etc etc) running the boost of your choice. Basically, select the amount of boost you wish to run, and look at the corresponding output figure next to it for an estimate of how much power you would be making. This analysis is ONLY a rough guide, please do no use it as a definite determinant since all cars are individual and differ to one another. This post should eliminate those repetitive questions such as; 'How much power will I make if I run XX amount of boost with a GT-RS turbo on my R33?' Cheers!

Hks Gt2835 Pro S Turbo Finally Arrived
Turbz RB-25 replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
One more question guys, after close inspection of the turbine wheel, it looks as though it had been chipped or grinded. As you can see in the pics, it seems as though when they manufactured it, they did it purposfully. Do you think it has something to do with balancing, like they purposely did it to balance it? I know when something spins as fast as a turbo does, the slightest amount of weight difference on the opposite side will through it out of balance and it will wobble. (Same principal as a wheen on a car) Has anyone else come accross this issue with their turbo??? Thanks -
Hks Gt2835 Pro S Turbo Finally Arrived
Turbz RB-25 replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yes you're right, I just had a look and it had cast into it '68'. I'm assuming they mean 0.68... haha Thanks very much for your help discopotato! -
Hi guys, I ordered a set of Nismo 555cc injectors for my R33 GTS-T from 'slide' and I don't think I got the right ones because: 1) My friend ordered Nismo injectors and they came in a nismo box, mine came in a cheap brown box. 2) There is no nismo logo anywhere on the injector 3) I entered the serial number on top of the box in google and it came up with HKS 555cc injectors. Can some one confirm what they are because I am seriously confused?? I took a pic, can someone please help? Cheers

Hi guys, I FINALLY received my HKS GT2835 Pro S kit from Nengun after waiting almost 2 months. I thought I might take some pics to show everyone what's included in the kit: 1) Turbo itself (HKS GT2835 Pro S) 2) HKS Dump Pipe 3) Intake suction pipe 4) Elbow to connect to standard intercooler piping 5) HKS heat shield 6) Oil and water lines 7) Silicon hoses, clamps, nuts and bolts and other small parts. Now, I've taken a pic of the 'serial' number on the turbo but I can't seem to identify anything. How do I know that I've received the 0.68 A/R housing and not the 0.87? Can the gurus out there tell me how to identify this turbo appropriately? Cheers.

Nengun Hks Gt2835 Pro S Delivery
Turbz RB-25 replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Well, all up including payment and waiting nearly a whole month for my order to be completed, about, 1 month..... Once nengun posted it, it took 3 days for it to reach Australia. I have now waited 6 days in total (3 days from japan to Australia, and 3 days in customs) for my product to arrive. I've read alot of threads, and most people said that they got their product within 5 days of being posted from nengun. -

And why is that funny? -
Hi guys, Has anyone ever bought stuff from nengun and been in customs for ages? My turbo has been in customs for 3 days now on the tracking website. Has anyone experienced this, or does this mean they've busted me and I have to pay the tax and duty? In otherwords, has anyone ever bought a turbo from nengun, and been in customs for over 4 days but still received it without paying taxes? THanks.

Hks Gt2835 Pro S Turbo Issue
Turbz RB-25 replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If the Turbo did require a gasket, HKS would have supplied on accordingly. Nonetheless, I might just put a little bit of ultra copper on it as I know metal to metal doesn't provide a great sealing. Thanks for all the repsones boys, you've been very helpful. -
Hks Gt2835 Pro S Turbo Issue
Turbz RB-25 replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah I might just use that Ulta Copper sealant. I'm one paranoid F#$K, I wont be able to sleep knowing that it might be leaking pressure, haha. I am not installing the turbo myself, I'm paying a shop to install the turbo, my nismo 555 injectors and Z32 all for $800. Is this a good price? Cheers -
Hks Gt2835 Pro S Turbo Issue
Turbz RB-25 replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Will it make a difference in terms of performance if you don't grind it you think (ie in terms of flow since it doesn't match perfectly)? Furthermore, what's ultra copper? DO you have a link to it so I can see where I can get it from? DO you think it is possible just to buy thin gasket material and cut it out to the shap of the dump flange? Wow, I can't believe your sealant held up for 2 years, thats good news. -
I tried to find a thread with no success. Could someone tell me what the ACC looks like and how to clean it? Photos would be even better. Or maybe just send me the link to the thread if you know where it is? Cheers

Hi guys, After waiting ever so patiently, and going thourgh the paypal dispute process, Nengun FINALLY sent my turbo. Now, I've read on many topics that the kit doesn't come with a gasket for in between the turbo and the dump. Now, I know GTST25 i think it was who posted that you should use coppermix sealant. Also, I do remember Sly33 made a copper wire to go around the grove and used that as a sealant. However, I do recall in a thread somewhere (I forgot who wrote it) that someone called HKS Japan and they informed him that you do NOT need a gasket, could this be true? Because after all, the gasket probably costs around $10, probably less, so why wouldn't they include it? Maybe you don't need one? I tried contacting HKS USA without success, bloody voicemail thing keeps coming up. Has asnyone with a HKS GT2835 Pro S not used a gasket? Cheers?>

Hi guys, I've noticed a couple of funny things going on with my car recently. Could the gurus out there have a punt at answering my questions? 1) I noticed the my ign timing is at 10 degrees when the car is idling. I've noticed in many threads people usually have 15 degrees. Will 10 degrees do damage to my engine? 2) After my tune, my car runs funny. Firstly, it idles strangely, the revs go up and down themselves, and sometimes, my car nearly stalls when I turn it on, right before the revs shoot back up to 1000 rpm. 3) when driving off boost (ie 0 pounds or less by not putting your foot on the accelorator hard) my car feels as though it's bogging, and sometimes, it stutters VERY mildly. THe computer I got is a power FC. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Nengun And Delivery Problem!
Turbz RB-25 replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
With all due respect, my question was, what is wrong with the EMS number and has anyone had the same problem, not 'why is it taking so long'. I did search and I was fully aware that it takes 1 month to come, but what I did not know was that the tracking number provided by nengun does NOT work. -

3 weeks late from when you made the payment or 3 weeks late from when 'Todd' said he posted it?
