Interesting stuff seems to be lurking in here, very nice, i like it! keep all suggestions comming! And yes i did say drive like a granny, and yes most cars dont have a standard vaccuum guage, but you can feel when your car is struggling. Many cars (such like the old mirage *tear*) dont have tachos, and you dont need them, driving is all about the feel, you know when you need to change gears by the sound of the engine, just in the same manner that if you give it a bootful you know you've sucked alot more petrol than you probably wanted. And i drive timidly during the week because i do go out on the weekends round the mountains and so and have a bit of fun I just see it as less petrol spent driving my ass to work and more petrol spent boosting my way round a mountain. And im sure alot of people would want it that way. Heres another tip, for everybody who has a turbo timer (which about 90% of us would) dont run it. I dont mean dont run it all the time but be mindful of when you run it. If your own your way home at night and you know its a flat drive of a few 100m's or so to your house, then you dont need to run it. Skylines were built without a turbo timer, and if the cars really needed them they would have came standard with the car. Your turbo timer should only be run if for some reason you've hit boost right before your about to turn the car off. And most of us run out turbo timers for 30 seconds (1min for mine because thats the smallest time period available on mine due to it being build into my security system) and thats 30 seconds of fuel being wasted while your not even in the car! Even if your paranoid about not running it, most of us dick around in our cars for 10 - 20 seconds before we get out anyway, so just let the car idle for that long and turn her off. Might only be 10 seconds a day but if you work that out for a time frame of a year: 10 seconds a day x 7 days a week = 70 seconds 70 seconds x 52 (weeks in a year) = 3640 seconds a year 3640 seconds (a year) / 60 (second in a minute) = 60.6666 minutes 60.6666 minutes / 60 (minutes in an hour) = 1.0111 hours a year So for those ten extra secounds a day, your basically letting your car use an hour of fuel a year doing nothing. And if you dont run the turbo timer, so for example we will use 30 seconds: 30 seconds a day x 7 days a week = 210 seconds 210 seconds x 52 (weeks in a year) = 10920 seconds a year 10920 seconds (a year) / 60 (seconds in a minute) = 182 minutes 182 minutes / 60 (minutes in an hour) = 3.033 hours a year So for those 30 seconds a day, your car is using 3.033 hours worth of petrol idling over a year. Doesnt seem like much now but in the long run it makes a difference. Sorry about such a long post, just trying to provide some helpful info for you fellow SAU'ers

alright cheers my belts all seem to be fine and intact, no wear on them, i also got a rag and wiped them down to eliminate any possible fluids on them the only thing is it squiels while its cold, once the engine is at opetating temperature, if i turn the car off and on again no squeal occurs i thought it may be a possible belt thats too tight? considering its happening when its cold and not when it hots, the old saying heat = expansion? could this be possible also?

ive siliconned sprayed all the bearings i could get to, so ill post back if it did anything or not. it just doesnt seem though like its comming from the front of the engine, it sounds like sh*t i hope this isnt serious

hey guys for the past couple of months my car has been making an immensly loud squeel on start up, only when cold and i wasnt too worried about it at the start but on a drive home last night it happened while i was driving so im concrned now. i managed to get the bonnet up and someone else to start the car and from the looks of it none of the two belts are slipping, and the screeching noise sounds like its comming from the opposite end to those belts. a bearing maybe? any ideas on how to fix this would be beautiful! Callum

hey guys, i have a set of 4 schneider rims with rubber (3 of the 4 tyres need replacing however) ive been meaning to sell them for a long time as they were to go on my old car but never made it. anyway, i was wondering what price schnider rims usually go for? as i have no idea of how much value they are. they do have a bit of gutter rash on them, but apart from that they're pretty clean any help would be appreciated

hey mate cheers for that, im prob looking at buying some in maybe 3-4 weeks or so. is installation hard? i think the main thing is actually making them level to not dazzle people.
-
hey mate, thats cleared alot of things up, cheers for all the info? is there anything else i should know about hid's before i buy and install some? just one questions, are hid's without a projector legal though? as long as they dont dazzle other drivers?
-
yes, tell tell tell!!!
-
ah ok, cheers mate. am i correct in saying though that if hid's are fitted they need a projector to concentrate the light beam? or can u put HID's in a car without projectors?
-

buckets replied to psi's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
R33 s1 or s2? would buy it if i knew how much work and cost was involved in getting it installed -
what are the rules for headlight heat range in qld? i read in a WA topic it was 6000k or less, however 6000k only come in a HID. does that mean a HID kit of 6000k can be fitted to stock R33 headlight casing? any help would be greatly appreciated
-
does 6000k only come in a hid? so is it legal to put hid's in that are 6000k without a projector?
-
arent these a h4 though? and the r33 only takes h1's?
