  1. if you know someone with a pipe bender you can just buy straight pipe and bend it to whatever you need. which instead of paying $20 a bend will work out alot cheaper. there is a post by someone that shows you how easy it is... also you when you pipe up the cooler you can use the standard pipes that are in the engine bay going down under the airfilter... just off them run it straight to the new cooler. search - DIY R32 cooler install and its a tread by JiMiH.. very well done. i'm getting one of those coolers too. i have aout 3 of my mates working with stanless so it shouldn't be too hard to get it welded.
  2. i think mine was in my mates Toyota Celica 1980 sedan metalic black with nice chrome simmons mags with a 3T-GTE 1.8L twin spark running 12psi.. i was 14 and it felt bloody quick. i think it ran a 13.5. now i'm a proud owner of a 4WD skyline
  3. i'll get a oil pressure gauge after my cooler install and see what the go is.. the car has 160,000 kms on it and has been serviced every 5,000kms ( that what the previous owner said, i hope ) and the head is only 60,000kms old. could it be a oil pump problem?
  4. sorry to bring this old tread back but i saves me makeing a new one.. i have a R32 and at idle the gauge will sit at just under 4 and after it warms up it sits just under 2. then after about 10mins or so of driving when stopped again the gauge sits about 3mm from the 0 mark and on the highway it sits just over 2??? i'm using castrol magnatec 15w-40. could this just be a dead sender or gauge the car doesn't seem to drive and different.
  5. i'll see how a transaction goes and i'll se if i can get the floor mats.
  6. yeah get into the RB20's with 160,000kms+ on them.. mine has got 162,000 i think and it still kicks arse.
  7. i did my R32 GTS-4 about 2 months ago and i can tell you now if you don't have the tools to do it or know what you are doing it is a bitch. my mates and i had the tools and we knew how to do it in theory ( what we read on this site ). i got everything off a half cut for $1200. thats everything, gearbox, clutch, flywheel, pedals, console parts, fornt and rear drive shafts, computer, and every bolt for it. it took about 4 days to get everything done and we also used a 180b input shaft to align the cluth which was very easy as well. the R33 gearbox's go for a bit more so i'd say you'd be up for about just over $2g's.
  8. i did last weekend but not really. i got one guy interested. i'll pm you if it don't go through. Thanks
  9. i have a standard air box from a R32 rb20det... with filter top and bottom. $50 sorry no pics yet
  10. i have a spare rb20det head. came off a car at around 98,000kms i was told and it has the cams, valves, etc.. doesn't have the tapet cover though. looking for about $150 ono. only brisbane buyers unless you want to pay alot for postage to somewhere else. i have pics i will post up later tonight EDIT - $100
  11. i saw that car today at the lights in richlands.... it was the funnist thing i have ever seen.. :)
  12. WHAT SIZE INTERCOOLER PIPING DO YOU USE? ok i'm getting a hybrid intercooler and what wondering if anyone had one installed and piping fitted to a R32. what i would like to know is , if they used the 3" pipe out of the cooler to the TB and from the turbo? question 2 - is it ok to use the stock pipes that come from the turbo to under the air fitler and the one going to the TB with the new FMIC? are they big enough? any info would be great?
  13. its on the intake side of the block. there are two of them - 1 is betweent the 1st-2nd cylinder and the other is between the 5th-6th cylinder. make sure they are on properly and i have no idea how to clean them. sorry
  14. sweet as. how much did the cooler cost you or did you get it in a kit?
  15. the R33 turbo's aren't as bad as the R32 ones. you can run 1 bar but remember if you are running 1 bar your not running that ALL THE TIME. so just remember that just don't flog the crap out of it all the time.. it would help having a FMIC and exhaust and pod the usual things. the R33 turbo has a T3 flange so i think that is bigger than the T28.
  16. might have a friend interested..
  17. how about $150 inc postage?
  18. i have a malpassi fuel reg that is brand new and never been used. i want $150 + postage for it. it doesn't have a gauge but they are around $25 i think. :devfu:
  19. i don't see what running methanol has to do with using truck cores on a skyline? start a new tread i think this one is about done anyway. thanks for all your replies
  20. the plump back pipe off the bov??? you can use a coke bottle lid with the original clamp. works great.
  21. yeah i get flames sometimes. most of the time its a small pop but every now and again i get a really big pop and nice flame at nite.. thanks to a after market bov and big fuel pump.
  22. happens in my R32 aswell. i just have to fiddle with it every now and then.
  23. a few guys on the site have got the hybrid coolers on their car and getting around the 170rwkw mark or more. with good tuning and full exhaust. with the stock turbo i wouldn't go past the 12psi for everyday driving, 14psi if you going down the strip. its the heat of the turbine blade spinning to fast where it actually mealts and stuffs up so. yeah. good luck with the cooler. on ebay you can get them for about 550.
