  1. so martin , according to the dyno there is about 10 ish kw difference . But carsales has this in their reviews -

"Despite a significant increase in output, now 390kW/612Nm against the predecessor's 357kW/588Nm, the GT-R is so tactile in delivering its mother-load that one would really need to be insensitive to such astounding figures to make a schemozzle of proceedings."

that's at 33kw difference , one car is either over stating or the other car is under stating.

  2. It says that the car still has 2 years warranty remaining. So any issues like gearbox should theoretically be covered, unless they discover that vdc was turned off or something else which would void the warranty.

  3. I was booked for turning right when the only sign present was a "keep left" on an island in the middle of a two way entry and exit road . The cop said i could only turn left and booked me for the following - " disobey a left turn sign " which wasn't there . I believe i did keep left, if i didn't i would be in the opposite lane (where people drive in) . If I contest it and lose , how much would it cost me?

    cheers

hey guys looking for a stock turbo or highflow turbo to replace my r33's current. Post or pm me your prices including postage if you're not sunshine coast/brissy area. Cheers
  5. Only n1's have steel wheels . These are ceramic ball bearing turbos, unlike r32 and r33 gtr's turbos which are bush bearing and ceramic.

    cheers

G`day Mike. If your R34 GTR turbos are steel rear wheels i`ll take them. I thought the R34 GTR turbos were the same as N1`s. What`s the differance? You can contact me on 0438 067 797 Adam.
  6. which resonator should i use ?

I was told by the exhaust shop that the spiral hotdogs woudn't reduce flow but i find it hard to believe. Hence I fitted a perforated hotdog (so i wouldn't loose any power through restriction) but the drone is still there !

Has anyone used a spiral hotdog and noticed any restriction .

The only other solution is to get a new rear muffler as the system i've got is a 3inch straight through, with a cannon and 5 inch tip

forgot to add that i don't want adjustable or removable silencers .

thanks in advance for any help

  7. with regards to r34 gtr turbo's can they handle more boost being ball bearing ? I see alot of r34 gtr stock turbos being boosted to 17psi with no problems. I know they are still ceramic but i've yet to hear a r34 gtr turbo damaging engines like the r32 and r33 gtr's.

Can anyone shed more light on the max boost of stock r34 gtr turbos.

    cheers all

When you pull the turbo's check the comp wheels, if they are stuffed then a compression and leak down test is a must.

HKS GT-SS's or Garrett 2860R-7's (also R34 GT-R N1's) are what you want if you're staying on standard internals. Either of these wcan pull up to 330awkw's with the right supporting mods. 300awkw's is easily achievable on each with the right mods too.

An even cheaper option is to go with R34 GT-R turbo's they're still ceramic but are ball bearing and cam be had dirt cheap from someone upgrading. You can easily pull 250awkw's on these with safe boost levels.

Good luck mate and let us know how you go. Pics are always good too.

    Cheers

  8. as the topic says has any used lewis engine rebuilders to rebuild their rb26 ? their prices are very competitive. Stockish full rebuilds with forgies and acl bearings cost $5500.00 . Their "killer" engine is just under 15k which includes all top name products . Their products are also very competively priced . Check out their website - www.lewisengines.com.au.

any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

    cheers

  9. hi r31nismoid,

i tried what you suggested but the pfc is a bit loose as it is not held properly. what else do other people do? do they drill a hole or use double sided tape to secure it so it doesn't move around ?

any help from people will be appreciated.

    regards

    mike

it just slides in doesnt it?

undo the brackets, insert PFC, do them up

doesnt need to bolt into the PFC

  10. hi guys ,

i'm having trouble mounting the power fc to the car. I've tried using the stock brackets from the stock ecu , but there are no holes on the power fc for screwing the brackets into . What solution is there and what have people done in fixing the power fc to the car ? Do i need to drill holes in the power fc or get new brackets etc

thanks in advance for your help

    regards

  11. does anyone know what size the inlet ( twin pipes) and outlet (single pipe) pipe is on a stock r34gtr front pipe. Is it bigger than 2.5in ( inlet ) and 3 inch (outlet) . I have found out that the hks front pipes are 2x 70mm joining into a single 85mm pipe .

    cheers

  12. guys, does anyone know the reason for the black smoke under WOT . i got a friend to rev the car to 6000rpm (in neutral) and could not see any smoke . however when driving and i plant my foot , there is always alot of black smoke following. could this be the turboes? I thought it may have been the engine or rings but excluded this when i reved it in neutral. Is this common for gtrs ?

Car is stock apart from cat back exhaust .

    thanks for the advice
