  1. Supercheap auto stocked my exact paint code (QM1) was $10 for a spray can. As I said took me a few hours as you have to do multiple coats then added a top clear coat so they wont stone chip. Very easy to paint yourself, just takes time as you need to do multiple coats.
  2. Having the following issue occur (boost dropping off) - I just wish to know wether it is normal or wether I need to upgrade something or have a problem I need to fix. Car is an R34 GTT tiptronic auto. Mods: Turbotech boost tee set at 12psi (aftermarket boost gauge) HKS cat back exhaust. Now it dosn't matter wether you have the gearbox in "D" or wether you use the tiptronic, mash the pedal and boost jumps straight up to 12 psi (which is what I want) then drops almost instantly to 10psi, holds it for maybe 2 seconds or thereabouts before dropping off and changing gear. Car feels strong the whole time whilst accelerating (no misfires) but you do get a big backfire as it hits the redline and changes gear (but I have heard this is common in skylines) and probably unrelated. Planned mods in the near future are dump/front pipe, hiflow cat, FMIC and SAFCII. Thanks for any advice.
  3. New F6 will destroy it.
  4. I'd be very interested but am in Sydney
  5. Nah Supra's can easy beat Ferrari's (twice the retail) on the way to Race Wars. I don't see Godzilla doing that...
  6. Really? I bought carmate ones for $100 but by the time I bought paint, sandpaper, primer ect ect I would have easy spent another $50 and wasted a few hours...
  7. This car is going to be the new Aussie performance king for sure. 5.1/13.4 with the A/C on is ridiculous fast for a stock $45K car. Rated fuel economy is actually 10.9L/100km and it has launch control. Wait till MOTOR get their hands on it. I'm more excited by the F6 though - same car with an extra 40kw - tipped to be a mid 12 second factory car - exhaust, boost, ECU edit (under $2K) easy 11's, maybe 10's Still I dunno - I bought a new BA XR6 had heaps of warranty claims and its resale was terrible (lost $20K in just over a year). Turbos have better resale though and Holden are just as bad...Point is no matter how fast Ford/Holden make these cars go, I wouldnt buy another till they up the quality - I'm not asking for Jap/Euro quality but for the price you expect the car to not be in the dealer once a month getting warranty fixed.
  8. possibly in your greddy pod - got any pics?
  9. Tell me about it....would have been a good night - nice and cold... So even if there is a sprinkle it is called off for safety reasons? As I said I have never been...
  10. 11. Cheers mate, looks like I will have to wait for my racing debut... I even held off getting petrol yesterday so I would have less than half a tank for the drags - now have to buy at $1.70 a litre
  12. How do you find out if its cancelled? We have had a bit of rain in the last hour...
  13. I'm only guessing but wouldn't you need to swap to a manual cluster? Also are the auto and manual ECU's the same? Failing all that you could just get an Apexi RSM if you want a speedo/odo for the time being till you figure it out.
  14. Hey guys, mates have conned me into running at WSID tomorow night - anyone else going to be there? Come say hi, I'll be in a white R34 GTT. Its my first time too - any tips lol See ya.
  15. Cheers guys, I didnt want to risk it so just bought some Dexron type ATF fluid on the weekend. However got the hose off, measured it up and it has a 15mm internal diametre (quite big for an oil hose). Tried Supercheap, Repco and Autobarn - all only had 10mm max oil hose. Autobarn claims I can use fuel hose but not so sure... Just stuck it back on for now but does anyone know where you can buy this size oil hose?
  16. I believe the hose I bought is some type of heater/radiator hose...
  17. Think they are about $170 for the part. Or you can buy a full service kit from here for $380 (including water pump): http://www.kudosmotorsports.com/catalog/in...th/21_22_26_123
  18. I'd be keen if you freighted to Sydney (2153)?
  19. That price looks cheap to me...why arn't you doing water pump at same time?
  20. I have a leaking power steering hose on my R34 GTT. To me it seems to be the feed hose coming out of the resoirver. Two questions - can I just replace with a spare black hose I bought from Supercheap once I cut it to length? - looks same diametre, dosn't have same kinks but factory hose just uses hose clamps and appears to not be high pressure... 2) What type of power steering fluid do these take. I just bought generic Castrol power steering fluid from supercheap but thought I would check my glovebox handbook first and it says to use Dexron type ATF. I also have service manual and the manual does not specify, it just says 1L...will the Castrol be OK? Cheers guys.
  21. Because its registered as a turbo. Insurance and RTA already have these details in the above example. Are you suggesting you insure an XR6T as just an XR6? Trust me they can tell the difference. If its never recovered then your only going to get a payout of what an XR6 non turbo is worth which is significantly less than a turbo model in the second hand market (not to mention fraud which carries jail time if they do ever recover it)...
  22. My old Astra turbo used to have heated leather seats - so freaken awesome in winter...
