Hey - I too am looking to head down as a spectator Thurs and Fri. What is the deal with spectating at the event? Recognising the road closures, do you simply drive out on the course and stake out a spot prior to the closure? If we are staying in Launceston do we need a rental car to access the good viewing points? What are the top viewing points on those days? Going with my old man who lives overseas so both a scenic and exciting spot is what I am after. Thanks

I'm not sure of the model, V Power or something? its just an entry level one. Happy to give it to anyone who takes something - gear isn't at my place so want to limit the number of times I have to meet somebody out there. Belconnen area. -

Owned the car for a while now - noticed it hasn't got the 100,000km timing belt sticker though. Upon buying the car the bloke told me it had been done it Japan. Decided I would change it anyway, though now that I have pulled the cover off it looks to be in good condition. Can see the marker line and the cogs look fine - don't resemble the wear sign drawings in the workshop manual. Also noticed there is a bit of gasket glue around the waterpump. Based on this info is it reasonable to conclude the belt has already been replaced? I'm not looking forward to getting that crank bolt off (what size socket is it by the way?) and lining up the new belt having never done it before. Are there any other belt wear indicators I haven't mentioned that I should look out for?

For a while now I have wanted to drive around Aust and see the outback. I am now sussing out the idea of taking a month off and making it happen. Unfortunately the GTR isn't up to the task so I was thinking of buying a late model STI or EVO and selling it after the trip. This raises the issue of finding 98 octane fuel and leads me to my questions. 1. How available is 98 octane fuel in the outback, looking to visit all the obvious places in NT as well as Broome area and a bit of WA. 2. Is it feasible/safe to load a few tanks of 98 unleaded in the back seat/boot to extend the range. 3. Are the STI/EVO as suitable as I seem to think they are? Just two passangers on the trip. 4. How feasible is it to have a car like this retuned specifically for 95 octane fuel?

I don't have a helmet guys. Anyone know a good spot in Canberra to grab one? Been reading the past helmet posts and am thinking of lashing out and getting one of the open face arai or sparco ones, know anyone that discounts these below retail?

Previous owner over tightened the sump plug. Now I can not tighten it. It simply tightens then loosens, tightens then loosens. Never more than just beyond finger tight. I tried wrapping it in teflon tape / plumbers tape but that only stopped the leak, hasn't allowed me to tighten it properly. Now, can i get it re tapped to a larger thread? It is an bnr32 so removing the sump is really out of the question. Assuming it is possible, should i be fearful of metal shards making their way into my sump? Finally, do i need to see an engine builder or can most mechanics conduct this operation?

Now that the generation that appreciates the BNR32 the most are starting to earn higher salaries, demand for stock standard examples is definitely on the increase. I believe prices bottomed at $20,000 and are on the increase. This is a big call, but because of it's godzilla status and heritage I think in 3 years clean examples will be worth mid to high 20's and roughly the same price as the R33 GTR.

ABS and 4WD light are now staying on from startup. Attessa box in the boot flashes 18/19 times at startup. Began after installing guages/cd player amongst other things. This problem seems quite common from my searches, though no solutions. Checked all fuses. code 18/19 is ETS i believe, what is this? Is ETS Attessa? Where is the circuit, motor and sensor?
