Located in Canberra, though can ship anywhere. Quite light. Won't be defected/have rego probs as rear is same width as front. These rims are seriously exe new. Few little scratches here and there with gutter rash, to be expected on most imported rims i guess - easily fixed if your after like new rims, though no damage. Asking $1000 without tyres, + $80 shipped anywhere on the east coast, slightly more elsewhere. Tyres are a japanese brand up front, with a very nice looking pattern and good performance. really nice goodyear LS2000s on the rear, also made in japan. Both 90% tread, asking $200, a fraction of the cost of buying these new. Call anytime on 0410378429

Speedo on r32 gtr seems to bounce around constantly, except when its at 0. For example, sitting at 60 will have it fluctuate a couple of km up and done and just simply can't stay still. Any ideas on what is causing this? alternatively, anyone know of a good speedometer repair shop that i can mail it to or something? unless there is one in canberra...

Can pick up in syd or cbr, or happy to pay postage. Looking for the following items; - Std GTR or GTST R32 Head Deck. Alternatively, another Nissan CD player from other models. - Comlete lining for rear boot, excluding floor mat. - Underside engine gover that covers radiator to sump in good cond, + also fasteners. - Std BNR32 Exhaust - BNR32 Wheel Bearings

Preventative Maintenance/modifying
neergnevets replied to neergnevets's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks for your help guys, top advice. Exactly what I was chasing. Now I'll just recap for future searches who like to scan through these things quickly like I tend to. RECAP Oil Starvation - Oil Cooler and/or sump - Synthetic oil changed regularly - Oil temp and pressure guages Pinging - Replace fuel pump - Replace vacum lines - Replace spark plugs and coils - Replace/clean airflow meter (good article in FAQ section on re-solding connections), injectors Overheating - Cleanout/upgrade radiator - Change welsh plugs - Aftermarket water temp guage General - Power FC re-tune - Standard boost - 5 dot brake fluid I remember my SR20DET had a line that sprayed oil over the cams. It was usually clogged, is there similar set up on the RB26? Is there anything else (short of internal work) that I can do to improve oil flow? Are the oil pickups a problem at all on the RB? -
Just wondering what the more informed RB26 owners are doing to prolong the life of their engine. Information on this is scattered across the forum, though from the searches I have done, not covered directly. I have just bought a stock standard R32 and aiming to pretty much keep it that way, looking for key mods or preventative maintenance tips prolong its life. Will be largely used for track days and the like. Not chasing power, more reliability only. Now for the q's. -Stock standard apart from the dump pipe back exhaust, in fitting a power fc and having it tuned by the likes of Croydon/UAS to fine tune mixtures, would the realiability and overall finer tune gained warrant the cost? Ignoring any minimal gains from a performance perspective. Or would is it be best to keep the std ECU if it is unmodified other the exhaust and plans to remains so. -Does a bigger sump or oil cooler (ie Greddy/ARC job) reduce oil pressure levels if you dont have an aftermarket higher flowing pump? therefore causing reduced oil flow and effectiveness? for a standard engine, would it be a better option just going a Tomei baffle? -Engine is running fine, all tests show good results on the 66000km engine, keeping in mind the cost, would it be worthwhile fitting an N1 or OEM oil and water pump in an attempt to make it more realiable? or just wait till it shows signs of being on its way out? Similarly, would you ever change big end bearings prior to them actually going on you (assuming you haven't got the engine out already)? -Is it worth upgrading the std radiator, if running std power though used mostly for track days? or does the std one do a good enough job? any othe cooling mods/maintenance tips to prolong the engines life? Put it this way, looking to spend a grand or two here and there now, in attempt to get an extra 20-50,000km out of the engine. I'm obviously trying to ignore the more obvious tips like changine oil regularing, as thats been covered to death. Though are there any other less obvious tips? like cleaning the injectors or throttle body etc.. even if they are currently running alright? or is that type a thing a waste of time/money?

Need the above items. Will consider new or used, preferbly in Sydney or Canberra, unless can be shipped overnight. Car being tuned Friday. Thanks, Steve 0410378429

Not much near Shin Osaka, stay somewhere near Namba. Osaka is no Tokyo, if I were you, I'd bias my time to Tokyo or get up into the mountains. Radison Miyagi is good value, expensive but value or the same. See expedia.com.au

Calling all LEASING gurus
neergnevets replied to neergnevets's topic in General Automotive Discussion
all very good points for those looking to lease. even myself working/studying in accounting it is hard to get a true picture to see whether i'd truely be better off. id tend to agree with top marginal rate and 25000km quota, if your position is any less youd want to really looking into it. problem in getting professional advise is that you'll pay for hours fees and if you dont earn top marg rate and want to do 25k km pa he will take your money and say no without really analyising the situation, such as the opportunity cost factors of insurance externally and 'maintenance' as someone else mentioned. though what did it for me, the exit fees are nuts and i like knowing that if i lose my job or decide to move to the bahamas next week i wont be 'as' ****ed. -
Calling all LEASING gurus
neergnevets replied to neergnevets's topic in General Automotive Discussion
thanks for info, have a killer opportunity cost spread sheet running at the moment. key assumptions are not paying FBT on maintenance costs which is an opportunity for exploitation, and the fact that insurance is fair bit cheaper through a lease. My employer has outsourced salary packaging, giving me freedon of choice in lease providers which means my spreadsheets are stacking a fair bit. It is quite complex and at the end of they day i think i may only be marginally better off leasing over financing through a car loan, pending on the difference in price buying privately and through dealer as required by some lease providers. im thinking car loan now as less assumptions involved and if i decide to bail a year or so into a 3 year loan it is a simple process of selling car and paying off loan or most of it, wheres leasing ive discovered causes shit to hit the fan! -
Hey guys, looking to lease prob an s15 and looking for some leasing info. Know about Prosperion and the major agents, though wondering if anyone has done their research and found any standout deals in terms of $saving and loose contracts? id be looking for an agent providing insurance deals ideally and swallowable early exits i guess. though that seems unlikely. thanks in adv. steveo.

Nardi Classic or Sparco Mugello
neergnevets replied to neergnevets's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
360mm i believe -
Have a Sparco Mugello, hardly used, anodised blue and dual buttons. Made in Italy, just wonderful to hold though rarely seen as $300USD retail. Has the two buttons and have seen these used in conjunction with boost controller, nitrous or a boring horn. let this go for $280 aussie. Also have a brand new nardi wheel, only ever trial fitted. Its the latest model out complete with screw cover and horn. also made in italy and is pretty damn desirable. $250 for this one. As much as id like to, cant fit them both to one car so putting this out there to anywone interested. in canberra, can ship. [email protected]
