  1. I personally hit the VDC-OFF button almost everytime i jump in the car. Nothing to do with safety, its just preference. Anyway to answer the question above. The 17" was only the AT coupes. MT coupes come with bigger wheels standard.
  2. Next time ask the seller to mark the value as less than $1000. Works every time. You will get screwed on insurance if they get lost or damaged tho.
  3. Looks great. What brand of springs are they? My vote would be to spray your wheels black, but thats just me
  4. Havent put it on a dyno but there will be little or no power gains. Doesnt feel any faster or slower. The intake is really just for noise in this case.
  5. Yes i have that, in black. Very happy with it. http://users.tpg.com.au/xscape23//fujita1.JPG http://users.tpg.com.au/xscape23//fujita.JPG
  6. I think you were warned about this place, but bought the car anyway. They have an extremely dodgy track record. Even if you do find out that the kms are dodgy, i would say that its too late now to do anything about it. Just keep living life pretending it hasnt been wound back and you probably wont ever know any better anyway. You sound happy with the car so thats all that matters.
  7. as far as i know they are sold separately. to the other poster, it is obviously used as he said it has 6000 kms on it. to kareem, how negotiable are you on price?
  8. If you are telling the truth, there is nothing to be scared of because it is an accepted defence against defamation in Victoria (you are in Vic right?) There is nothing for you to be scared of. But, I would recommend that you stop communication with the car wash, its workers and their lawyers. Push all communication through your own lawyer.
  9. I was able to get the morning off work. Stopped by the tyre factory. Surprise surprise, camber on the LHS was -0.5 something, RHS was -1.4 something. A quick adjustment and the problem was FIXED. -1.5 or there abouts on both sides now and no scrubbing.
  10. I personal gripe of mine is when people post incorrect info on public forums. Camber IS adjustable on the rears from factory (via the eccentric bolt on the camber arms). The scope of adjustment is minimal but it is there. Toe can also be adjusted via the toe arm. The fronts are another story. Thread can be closed, my problem is solved. Thanks for listening.
  11. Thanks. Rears are 20x9.5 +22, wearing 275/30. There is JUST enough room to get away with not rolling the guards. However, my plan is to eventually get it done once I fork out for some better rubber (and run less agressive camber). Stephen, thanks again for the additional ideas. I dont want to sound stubborn but it really is a camber issue. I tried to take a photo of the underside of the guard but my photographing skills are sub-par. Once you see the black mark left by the tyre and how close it is to fitting underneath, it will make a lot more sense. I dont have a protractor (ha ha) but it looks like even 0.5 of a degree may be all it will take. In any case, with some help I discovered how to adjust the camber but we could not get enough leverage on the bolt. Will get it done tomorrow and report back.
  12. Thanks Stephen. It doesnt matter which side the people sit in. A "large" passenger in the front seat has the same effect. Tyre pressures are OK. Springs are the same on both side (aftermarket RSR Ti2000). Shocks are nismo s-tune. Both appear fine. The scraping doesnt occur when I run the standard 18s. These 20"s are in a much more agressive offset. The RHS appears that it could JUST BARELY tuck under the guard over bumps, where as the LHS looks like there is no chance. This is why I think I can dial in a tiny bit more neg camber on the LHS and it will be OK.
  13. Steve, I dont mean to defend the guy for not having insurance, but your statement is not correct. In victoria, third party (personal injury / liability) is included in the vehicle's registration fee and administered by a gov agency (the TAC). As long as his car is registered then he had the adequate minimum insurance required by law.. Doesnt cover him for damage to property or coverage of his own vehicle tho (obviously) To the person with the stolen car - legal aid is OK but they are not really here for this type of thing. More so for hobos fighting criminal cases against them. Try calling some professional lawyers, there are those who offer a "no win, no fee" arrangement. Good luck.
  14. Gents. One of my rear wheels (thats right, only one) is scrubbing on the guard when i've got people in the back seat. I figure that it doesnt happen on the other side because it must have very slightly more negative camber. Is it possible to adjust the rear camber at home, and if so, any tips? Thanks in advance. And before you suggest I head out to get a wheel alignment, im just after a quick temporary fix. Wheel alignment is coming soon along with new tyres.
  15. So.. what you're complaining about is the guy wanting to be present during the inspection?
  16. Not enough coats or no protective clear coat.
  17. My comment was tongue in cheek - no matter what someone drives, dont we all wish it was at least a little bit faster? Anyway. They have a good powerband for driving around town. Which is what I use it for and it is more than adequate for the job. In terms of raw straight line speed they are probably slower than the large majority of other "sports" cars. You might be able to peel away from the lights faster than hondas and family sedans.
  18. - A couple of months. - Imported it. - Manual. Coupe. White Pearl. Premium. 20" wheels. - I dont want to add it up but it is a tad over $30k. - No problems other than dodgy installation of immobiliser during compliance. - About 500km. - Not fast enough (havent tested, but over 6 seconds?).
  19. Dont worry, in 5 years time you'll look back and be glad you didnt buy them. If you want something different maybe look at what Frank350GT posted, they will be functional and rather sweet looking (unless he does a strip of homo pearl-necklace looking LEDs as well...) But anyway, shipping wouldnt be THAT much. I recently travelled to the states and sent back a few big boxes worth of crap. Each box could have easily fit a pair of lights (maybe two pairs of headlights), and set me back $80 - $90 USD per box with USPS... bastards quarantined my beef jerky at customs tho!
  20. I dont dig those lamps to be honest. The strip of LEDs makes it look a bit, well, gay? The rest is good tho.
  21. If you wanted to see what it would look like:
  22. Hey. I was thinking of grabbing one of these. Have you opened the box? My worry is that there wont be enough clearance to start pumping the bloody thing properly at first, even if it does fit under my car (had this issue on another jack). If your car is lowered please try it out and tell us how it goes.
  23. Chris, done. I will aim for 10am.
  24. Insurance: I'm 25 in Victoria, paying just under $1,100 per annum (policy held with justcars). Fuel economy: My trip computer shows about 8.5 KM per litre on average, and up to 12 km per litre on the freeway. It is not great but you deal with it - at least the tank is big. My prior daily drive was a somewhat modified evo 7. I was lucky to get more than 230km out of it before the light came on... I dont mind guzzling gas but it is annoying as hell when you are at the petrol station more than once per week. Such an inconvenience. Anyway, thats a bit off topic now.
