A sneak peak of my new purchase... still some time away
-
Gents, Anyone here have any experience with the IMPUL ecu for the V35? Thoughts? Results? I've finally purchased a V35 and it comes with one of these already installed. Just curious as to what sort of improvement they are over standard. Cheers Brad

Bump. Car is still for sale.

Here you go mate, I'll make it easy for you. For a car based on 1.2m yen: 1. Importer fee = $1000 (give or take $100) 2. Car cost = 1,200,000 divided by exchange rate = $16500 (add another $1000 if FOB costs arent included) 3. Shipping and customs agent fees = $2000 to $2500 4. Tax = $3500 5. Compliance and RWC requirements = $2500 6. Registration $1000 Total = $26,500 to $28,000 If you want a car for about $22k, you should contact one of the importers on here (iron chef, autoworx, whoever) and pay their service fee. They will scour the auctions and find you one for a better price than you can get a dealer. It wont be hard if you are patient. But yes, first step is to sign up with an importer and pay their fee.

Bump. Car is still for sale. $23,000 including everything and RWC. $22,000 minus exhaust and wing and RWC. It was an auction grade 4.5A only 9 months ago. Auction sheet and japanese dereg papers are available. Car did a 13.58 @ 100.82, 1.9 60ft when it had just exhaust & boost only. Must be very close to the 12s now, if not there already. The GTAs make 95 - 110kw atw when standard. Mine makes more than this from 2000rpm. Latest dyno was 174kw at all four, but with a better boost controller it would hit 200 easy (this one has trouble with boost tapering towards redline). Graph available.

You have to organise compliance. It can only be done by a RAW. Search for one here: http://raws.dotars.gov.au/rawswebpublic/RAWPubSearch.asp I believe your aircon gas can stay in the car. If its empty, your local aircon bloke can refill it for $70 - $100. As suggested, sign up with a broker (e.g., iron chef) and let them help you find a car. They have paid for access to the systems showing all cars coming up at auction. By the sounds of things you are new to the game and would be crazy to import without one. p.s. The FOB price of V35s has been dropping. Seen a couple manual examples getting very very close to a flat 1 million.

I have no problems putting it on a truck, or paying for your flight down here for anybody who pays close enough to the asking price.

Also considering swaps for V35 coupe (6 speed only) with cash adjustments.

Buggers. Plenty of nice auto ones, you guys should go for those (and leave the 6 speeds for me!) -
Importing "etiquette"
xscape237 replied to Messiah's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Is it just me, or is the supply of good 6-speed CPV35s really drying up at auction lately? -
You will find that most (if not all) automatic cars in japan are fitted with the beep. Annoying as hell. I can live with the reverse one but keys in the ignition absolutely drives me insane.

Is The 05/06 Update Model With The Extra Coin?
xscape237 replied to xscape237's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I will post them later tonight. Obviously relating to the G35 series rather than the skyline specifically. Actually to me, the differences in the model matter more than the fact it was churned out of the factory 12 months later... So do these "track spec" ones actually exist? I know you can tell the existence of an LSD from the build plate, one of the last letters has to be an B or D or something.. but anyway. -
Gentlemen, Just after some opinions on the 03/04 model against the 05/06, please. At first I thought an 03/04 was the one to go for considering the brembos and better looking standard wheels (and the price difference of course!). But I'm no longer sure as reports seem to suggest that the 05/06 is a better drive - which is more important to me. Was an LSD standard on either? Any reasons why I should spend at least $5 - 8k more on an 05/06 model? Cheers

Will I Be Disapointed With A Non-premium?
xscape237 replied to xscape237's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I agree. You will be surprised how cheap they are now though, even with the yen at only 72. A 6 speed white 03 model non premium went for less than 1.1m fob the other day, which is what, $22k landed and complied?? Anyway. I dont like my chances of another nismo kitted one popping up soon, so i may just end up with a random premium of some sort.. Thanks for the help -
Will I Be Disapointed With A Non-premium?
xscape237 replied to xscape237's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
The equivilent cost to us would be $38,000 landed and complied. Keep in mind that it is a 2004 base model with no leather, no tv, no bose system, and it didnt have any other nismo goodies (standard speedo, standard exhaust, standard suspension, etc). It did have a sunroof tho. But yes, it is one hell of a hot car. I love the nismo kit especially with the bigger air dams and blacker headlights. I have about 20 more photos if anybody wanted me to email them.
