Idk $1000 is getting up there, if you were getting a spoiler resprayed too then id say its a good price. I can get a front bumper resprayed for about $200 so would expect it to be about $6-700 all up if there's no spoiler.

The internals can cope with over 20psi easy as, they just cant handle a certain amount of power. Ive heard you shouldn't run more than 17psi on factory head gasket, change that and your all good to go.

Ive heard that you can but you need to get better screws as the cheaper ones break. But at the end of the day its controlling something that can destroy your engine, imagine if it breaks and causes thousands of dollars worth of damage just so you could save $200 odd in the beginning. You get what you pay for.

Do you have a Pod filter? i know exactly what you mean if you do, all s2 r33's and r34 gtt's have a different intake wheel than the other skylines and it sounds shit compared to other turbos. its like a full on ssshhhhh instead of a nice loud whistle while using a pod. who knows maybe the bov is leaking under full load idk

You will most likely get over the pods noise, i did pretty quick, if you get a standard airbox from a wreckers and get an hks/apexi/greddy high flow panel filter itl go just as hard and sound so much better. With the intercooler you can get return flow intercoolers so no cutting needed. Yeh i know what you mean ay! pods on factory turbo sound soo bad i was considering selling my car as it just wasnt fun to drive around off boost, yes it was annoying me that much! I bought a factory airbox off trademe and an greddy filter and it sounds sooooooooo good!!! fell in love all over again. I think its around 170-180rwkw but havnt had it dyno tuned. It goes bloody well an gets to 100 in around 5 - 5.5 secs.

Yeh theres the ones on justjap that go into factory piping, but are they the return flow ones your talking about? Could always get a new plazmaman plenum if ya got the dosh that is

Indeed, i had this exact problem in my old R34, i put in an r32 actuator and just bypassed the boost solinoid completely, it ran 10pound really nice for maybe half a day, then i heard a huuuge ripping noise like an external wastegate then a bang! lol blew a gasket or hole in my exhaust, major exhaust leak after that and it only boosted 6-7pound after that. I was using the stock exhaust so i reakn the cat was blocked or something not sure, but yeh 6-7 is lower than 10 last time i checked

Yeh R32 actuators are set at 10psi Thats what alot of people have told me but on a few posts on here ive seen people say there rated at 12psi. Either way with an exhaust and an r32 actuator you can expect to boost around 10-12 psi Which im doing on my r33, oddly enough im boosting 13 tho lol but yeh it works a treat to get one if you can find one.

Shit is it really like this in Australia?? i keep hearing bowt cant mod more than one thing an this an that... Here in NZ the only things i can think of that's not allowed is external gates, non airbag wheels on airbag cars after 1998 and major mods that aren't certed. oh and being to low i plan on moving to aussie oneday too i hope it doesn't get any worse

You changed the coils without getting new plugs? Personally considering this is the questioning area i would've got new everything, but each to there own i guess. Get new plugs

Yeh i understand where your coming from. so that covers the performance side of things, but the OP wanted to know the best sounding BOV also. TBH im just sick of people knocking blow off valves, getting a nice sounding one does NOT make you a poser or a wanker or whatever. I just want my car to sound nice and the way i want it. Hard. ive just gone back to the factory airbox after having an HKS pod, sounds 100% better and has more response. Factory r33 series 2 and r34 turbos sound like poo through a pod.

BOV's are not the reason cops target these kind of cars, And is buying a nice sounding exhaust a "wank factor?" no, theres nothing wrong with making your car sound the way you want. Some BOV's sound like absolute crap and some are really nice, hense the reason for these kind of threads. and if its illegal in your area then don't get one. simple

I hate it when people come in and just say go with stock, whats wrong with personalizing your cars sound??? Yes stock may be fine but that doesn't mean he cant get something that sounds different. Some people don't like blow off valves and that's their preference but they shouldn't shoot down someone wanting one. If your wanting a decent basic blow off sound with flutter down low revs id recommend the Greddy RS or the new RZ. Really good bovs and you can tighten it to what suites your preference or plumb it back if you want.
