Dont Know To Much About Actual Turbos (nube Quest)
chrissyo replied to StOjA32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ah nice lil read Im a noob too and always wondered if highflowing was the same as reconditioning -
They would shake in high wind yeah...but it would be quite wanky if you were going to leave them up for a long period of time When they are up you can still open them out from the side of the car a bit...hence why they CAN "shake" So far the doors have been a smash hit with little boys! ive over heard comments like "WOW thats sick" "look mum" "is that the car off tv dad?"
-
Thanks ill try and get some better photos in the comming days...night shot from behind looks awsome as i have led's inside my door pockets!
-
What you think?
-
that may be the obvious response how ever ANY adjustment of the height caused problems with the door latch. I found it to be very touchy to adjust, 1/4 turn of the adjuster and the door wont close(or even close to it). Ive got the drivers done btw it was ALOT easier than the passengers since id learnt a bit along the way. Took some photos of this side as well Drivers isnt rubbing i dont think so the rubbing may be bad skirt alignment on the passengers side.
-
ive never cut CF before but DECIM8's suggestion seems best. Stone sanding piece of a dremmel is going to be less brutal than the finest tooth hole saw or drill bit you can find.
-
Your doors may not rub! the only place mine rubbs is at the front of the side skirt. ill take pics 2moro. It did rub at the rear but that was due to poor alignment. I would personally try the doors before ur paint job if possible? My second door is not fully finished yet but it hasnt rubbed...maybe i just messed up the first one? As i said ill get photos 2moro it may just be my skirts? i have JUN side skirts

Im also a rookie so go easy ....I bought my car with an atmo blow off and 3.5inch exhaust...id like to attract a LIL less attention lol The blow off is FREAKIN loud...do different brands and models of Atmo bovs make a louder noise? As in can i get a different atmo blowoff so that i can keep that rice pssst that you guys all hate so much...but not as loud? or should i just go back to std?
-
Im not sure how the 34 differs from the 33 in respects to fitting lambo doors but they are relitively simple For my second door i removed the front bar, headlight, and wheel and its made it SO much easier
-
yay turns out the window had just poped over the outside. gave a bit of a push and slipped back into place. passenger side is now working awsome
-
still working on my first hinge realised i had not bashed the frame flat enough so there was a gap between the window and the car So i had to take the bracket off again which i stupidly started doing while the hydrolic shock was still attached! dumbest thing ive ever done! I flattened the area behind the hinge more and re attached it...still got a gap but not AS big so i guess ill keep trying!
-
me and a mate started my install of the lambo doors today! THEY ARE FREAKING AWSOME! we managed to get one door on...took SOOO long though, spent like an hour trying to align it. put the car all back together to realise it was compety NOT in the same place i had aligned it I think i forgot to tighten the nuts after aligning it grrr The kit is very easy to install though....IF you dont have side skirts, mine now need respraying and the doors his the skirts unless you open it a specific way....out a lil. up a bit out fully then up. So atm i have one door on which i cna not use becuase its lined up so bad it overlaps on the back quater panel 2moro i will have to pull the front gaurd off again and try to realign it. Wont have a second pair of hands until next weekend though
-
yeah no worries mrgtt im thinking about doing a full write up on it as the instalation guide lacks some detail
-
morning SAU! My set arived today from lambodoorkits I will be installing them this weekend if all goes to plan =D So far im very impressed each hinge weighs in at nearly 6k so they look to be pretty durable Ill let you know how it goes

Making R33 Fibreglass Sub Box, Anyone Interested?
chrissyo replied to loftyfang's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
The left hand side stores the jack and has the arieal mounted to it....but is this esential? As is in is it considered structual metal or could it be removed without defect? I cant see why it would be a problem -
ah ok cool thanks for that michael. I just think itd look better if it looked solid at the top...like at the bottom. Have you got a photo of "real" gandors? As for them not folding back i dont care...if i need to fold my mirrors away i think the streets to narrow for me to be parkin in anyways:p
-
I never use to like them but they are growing on me Do all gandor mirros sit like "shanusr33's" do? They just seem to look wierd how the top is so thin to me it kinda looks like they're out of place hard to explain. Also are these electronic? like the stock 33 mirrors?

Hey, ive had a search around but cant seem to find any details on this. Basically i have lamo door hinges on the way for my R33 SII so need to remove my front side gaurds! Ive never done it before and havent had much of a look but what do i need to undo....as in come someone tell me there 4 screws here here and here so i dont spend all day looking for the bloody things! Also i have Jun side skirts on the car which overlap the gaurds.... they are attached with 2 screws in the wheel arch and then appear to be held on with a form of silicon(obviously) *Is it safe to just pry the sides back enough to get the fronts off? if so what sort of silicon is used to re-attach? LASTLY is standard masking tape safe to use on the paint work? I asked this in the lambo door thread but got limited response Hope you guys can answer my questions...or atleast flame me for being crap and using the search and steer me in the way of some answers
-
thanks yup. If i cant get anything from a panel shop do you think it would be better to buy cheap nasty masking tape? Like from chickenfeed or the like?
-
***ORDERED!*** If anyone was thinking about purchasing the kits from lambodoorkits i just ordered mine today so i should have them soon and will let you all know how i go Question- You need to tape the door while your installing the bracket...as seen in the instalation instructions. What tape is safe to use without damaging anypaintwork? Thanks
-
R338OY im with you would love to see what options there are for the 33 Just read the thread from the start very nice work welldone guys

My 33 backfires heaps as well on gear changes and engine breaking. Havent gotten around to getting a tune yet but the blowoff could be contributing as well?
