  1. did you change the reo bar.. cause they are diferent heights.. which would lower your bar.. this he already mentioned he was going to buy.. never seen a gap in the bonnet b4.. maybe lower the stops? or reo may have dropped bar again.. and indicators he already knew about and was changing.. my mate fitted a s1 bar easily with trimmed reo though.. also aftermarket front bars on r34 are sold as that.. not seperated into s1 & s2.. but again you gotta trim reo to fit on some of them..
  2. I'm also not signing.. only cause it's $30.00 a year.. not a great deal of money really.. Especially when you look at what our cars cost to run.. And most importantly, if they didn't take it from one source, they'll just get our money through another means..
  3. i don't thnk they'd be considered as the same car.. too many variables and changes to be the same car.. whereas going from GT, GT-X GT-V with a GTT motor in it but to be legal would also require the brakes, etc upgrade to meet the requirements.. And police prob wouldnt know the difference and wouldnt be the ones you'd need to worry about generally.. It would be the Transport who would pick up on it.. possibly.. You're obviously looking at an expensive build.. So if you're gonna do it right.. what is wrong with getting it engineered and be done with it?

LOL sorry.. i was being lazy.. i mean different looks.. series 2 has different seats, gauge colours, tacho, front bar, etc.. they are the same engine wise etc.. not different headlights etc.. just visual stuff.. I don't think that its rare.. I think that there arent many 4 door 2001 in aus yet.. As they are probably still owned by their japan owners.. There is nothing different between a 2000 & 2001 as they are both series 2..
  6. Yeah ok i was just wondering why they were saying it was rare.. Keep your panties on ..Yeah 2001 was the end year for the GTT.. So there possibly isnt many of that year imported over here as maybe jap owners are still keeping theirs.. Insurance just really need to know that its a series 2 GTT.. as the 2000 model is the same.. Both are basically the same anyway except diff looks.. And no you won't be required to change bonnet and panels...

  8. Easy.. But you need to replace all 3 gauges as they are one peice.. Go check that out first so you know what i mean.. I would go through the passenger side where the wiring harness goes through.. this is fairly easy and can be reached without removing anything..

  12. How is it rare? Yeah there are 2 series in the r34.. And yes you can change the bars over in both series as they are the same fitment.. Just different design..

  16. 145,000 isnt that much.. They are mostly fiddled with when coming from japan anyways.. Just replace the instrument cluster and k's change.. (not saying do this as its stupid and illegal).. so the k's its reading arent nessarily correct.. Just check condition of the car.. if steering wheel isnt worn out.. carpet on drivers side, pedals, etc.. just the normal stuff.. then should be ok.. In terms of the motor.. Don't beleive the seller based on something he/she said.. Don't forget, they are trying to sell the car.. If you're really serious I would have the car checked by a mechanic and have your own compression test done.. To have the cylinders all running on 160 exactly would be a miracle.. If you find something different to what the seller is saying just beware..

  21. 200,000k's isnt that bad.. has nothing to do with 300,00k's on a commodore.. depends how it's driven over it's life.. Also you stated that your mates are mechanics? They should be able to explain it all to you.. If you got the money you could just forge the engine and upgrade everything.. All depends on thre power levels you want to make.. Maybe look in the For Sale section, you may find a built engine already, and save money.. Unless you want to do it yourself..
  22. Roadworthy surprisingly doesnt have anything to do with noise levels and shit like that.. Have you checked your power leels before the exhaust.. I'd think that a 3.5" pipe on an N/A would lose power as it has less back pressure.. Also my advice.. install something to bring the noise level down 2dB and avoid the problem reoccuring..
