Hey Guys, Well there seems to be a BIG gap between Drive days at Eastern Creek. This one looks to be the last oportunity to get one in before the new year rolls around. I will contact Dave Stone during the week to see if we can get a little more off the group booking rate but I think I'll be going along to this one anyway. If your keen to join me then start posting up here. As usual I'm shooting for 15 definates to form our own group, but if we can get 30 then we have not only enough for 2 groups, but we will have the biggest turnout ever at Eastern Creek. A meet of this size may just call for a magazine of some sort to be called in. Anyway, let me know. Dan.

OK, Well it is now only one month till we roll. I feel that the meeting places will be at carpark 6c with the prankster and then the rest of the crew at windsor maccas. I'll post up a map in the next few weeks on where to meet etc. In singleton there's the Imperial hotel which is basically in the main street on the right hand side, they have a cook-your-own lunch thing where you buy the meat raw and cook it yourself and add salad'. This will be lunch. I thought about the wine thing and I decided that the relationship mess potential when deciding on a DD for the return journey was WAY to great. So maybe next year I will organise a trip for a week/weekend to the hunter, of course via the great putty road. I'm aiming to be in singleton around 12-12:30 for lunch, which should mean that we can leave windsor somewhere around 9:30-10am I think, dad we did decide that it would take us about 2.5 hours didn't we? Could all please post up where they intend to meet so that we know who is meeting at which location? (windsor or 6c) Cheers, Dan.

Well here is an update, It looks like we will be meeting at probably 6c and either Grey Gum or macca's at windsor. I'm thinking of getting away about 9am from windsor so as to get a full day for a nice relaxing cruise. Hopefully we should be back sometime around 5:30 - 6pm. (have to finalise these details though) Numbers are good so far (see above) and more are welcome. Cheers, Dan.

Shell, Well I'm sure that one day we shall meet... but this is an awesome road and is a must do... would be a shame for you to miss out. Dino, Would be good to have you along... and work on a Sunday... is this not blasfmey in the bible? Sunday is a day of rest (Skyline's excluded) Peak, Yep, this road will lead you to singleton alright! It is easy to make it there and back on one tank... break your foot and let your girlfriend drive there (taking notes of the tight sections) and only use a 1/4 tank. Then tell her that you don't care about your foot... it doesn't hurt anyway (drive through the pain and spend almost every drop of the 3/4 that you have left!!!). The other option is to keep it out of the "peak RPM" range if you'll pardon the pun. Carlo, The road is a public road that streatches through the middle of knowwhere, it has some good and bad spots, but no dirt and mostly a 100kph speed limit. All, Peak has outlined some important points. As I have mentioned before, this cruise is intended to be just that. It is an oportunity for us as a club to get together and enjoy our great company, mechines, and of course a section of road that the RTA got right! This is a cruise that takes all day. now for all those that want to race up and down it I would like you to think of this. The average F1 race lasts 1 and 3/4 hours and this is the average time of a motor race... any longer than this and you end up having multiple drivers. Now the boys and girls that compete in such events are fit and do this for a job... ie they are PROFESSIONALS. Micheal Schumacher aside, they all always come out of the car dripping in sweat and are warn out. If there arn't too many people coming then I will lead the pack at reasonable pace (ie at the speed limit or maybe 5 kph more). I will hopefully be able to get hold of a CB by then. I will try to get someone else with a CB to run at rear gunner just in case of any mishaps. If many people attend then we might let those that know the track go on ahead and I'll lead a slower group after them. I hope that this has cleared up a few issues and I can't wait for this one baby! 3 Months... mate, you are taking it WAY too easy on those tyres, fatz tells me that he normally only gets one day out of his rear treads (one track day that is!) I believe that I didn't get much longer than 3 months... but I am still studying the ways of the true Jedi Knight!

Well that particular one is the 260RS Autech version... ie an R34 GTR with a stagea shell over the top (then modified to have the R34 front end)... now you all know the look you get from the porsch drivers when they get smoked by a GTR... can you imagine the look you would get when you smoked them in a station wagon??? Thats why I would bother! Stagea's come in various modles, the 260RS Autech version is probably going to cost around $60k to get it here and comply. It IS a GTR with a different shell. It has the 4wd system the same as the one you get in a GTR, it has an RB26DETT engine, same springs, same gearbox... same everything except for the shell... you even get GTR badges! There are other versions that are cheaper, the have different combinations such as the RB25DE, RB25DET, mixed with four wheel drive and rear wheel drive and if I remember correctly they cost around $25K landed and complyed. All are bassed on the R34 layout and are only importable from '96' on. I might consider this as my next car. Very unique, Very Fast, and still quite cheep!!! Cheers.
