  1. I have a good friend that works in the metal fabrication industry, he and his boss have a passion for building things a little different and a little tricky, and if you throw in something motor sport related then they all but froth at the mouth! I would be more than happy mention your project and see if they are interested or even if they have done something like this dry sump before. I'm thinking something aluminimum Just let me know, I know they have a pretty trick drag mobile in the workshop. Also, let me know if you need any crew/co-drivers at the Masters day Stay Sidewayz, Dan.
  2. Hey Matt, Didn't get to say G'day on the Putty Cruise on Sunday, but yeah, I'm still here, just over here. Stay Sidewayz!
  3. He's just Z'd in up around town.
  4. Yep Neil, Now that Matt mentions it he is right, both patterns line up bolt wise however a 25 sump needs some work to fit the 30 bottom end and clear the crank. 30 onto 25 does require 30 oil pick up however to prevent starving the engine on high rpm. I'm not 100% sure how a dry sump works so I am not sure how this might effect your plans mate.
  5. Ok Neil, I have caught up! And will be heading your way to veiw/help in feb. I am going to have to get my baby track bound again for the impending R33 GTS-t challenge I'm sure someone will launch. Love the angle, while we chased a built engine in my build, we focused on torque, turn in and over all drivability, and I'm quite keen to compare spring rate notes over a brew Love the cage Brad, I can't wait to have a closer look at it soon. I hope I can offer a few helping memories from my build some 6 years ago... oh, and I think I was possibly the last bloke to blister every finger with 2 heat guns and scrappers getting that sound deadening out... lol Speaking of helping... Neil no luck in the house as far as the sump research goes... however there are 3 rather deep boxes of build info in my garage... I have been meaning to spend some time cleaning that up, now I actually have a reason. My R33 weighed in wet (standard fuel tank) with me in it (72kgs) at 1277kg on Eastern Creek scales. Yep, I'll take an R33 screen please Gotta get some sleep. Stay Sidewayz Kidz! Dan.
  6. Good a time as any to learn about wine!
  7. Ok, So Jody has said that at this stage we are free, So seeing as I'm having all sorts of fun trying to find time to put the skyline together I might just come and check out this little baby in Jo's car (and waste another day that could be put towards the skyzer... Skyline Nationals isn't till October), sounds like heaps of fun, and should be good to catch up with some old friends, and make some new ones! Stay sideways kidz, Dan.
  8. Cool, I'd be interested also. What is the cost of the days?
  9. 3 months is massive quick!
  10. We'll be there! Lovin it! Spewin we missed the last one, so out to make up for it and we have plenty of tyres this time too...
  11. We're going sliding on Friday... and I can't wait, these day's are always fantastic and great for you lot to watch also, I think entry for spectators is now $20, and one lucky person will win a ride in a drift car! So head on down, open pits, 3 drift tracks and much much more!
  12. Looks like heaps of fun!!! I wish I could have made it... when is the next one?
  13. And you know the funny thing... A mate has just called back (6:30am is a little early in my book, but at least he called, lol) and said he will come over and help me put it all back together tonight after work... he didn't even flinch when I said I was down in my garage until 1am this morning and when I came up the thermometer read a toasty -3 degrees!!! (I had no chioce but to put the tools down as my hands had become numb even through my gloves ) Problem is if I do get it all together tonight I have to somehow get it to the tuner tomorrow if it is even at all possible for him to tune it. I really wish I could have made this one... Dan.
  14. Guys, I'm out, have all the parts (Excluding Gearbox) to put the car together but no time to get it done. So as a result I am going to do some overtime at work to help pay for said parts! LOL. Have fun you lot.
  15. Fixed it for you ... and I now agree
  16. Please add me to the reserves list.
  17. cool... sounds like fun...
  18. only half of it though...
  19. Thanks mate. We are planning to make the next event on the 23rd of July, which again is a friday in about 3 weeks time. Same deal except I'm planning not to be sick this time (I have administered 3 large glasses of Uncle Chop Chop's recipy ) So let me know if you or anyone you know is keen. Also, Kinks, we need some quality shots taken and I'm hoping you might be able to help us out. If you still have my number then give me a call, if not pm me yours and I'll call you. Cheers, Dan.
  20. Well guys I haven't made the grade... but I do have the car running and nearly ready for tuning... just need to replace a few sensors and then put some decent oil into it. However, seeing as there won't be another SAU track day for a while I may start to move a few things around... make sure it is ship shape for next time... Have fun guys and girls! Stay sidewayz Kidz! (But not at the SAU track day ) Dan.
  21. Best option is to put a choc under a wheel, that way you can't hurt anything that has warmed up...
  22. Wishing I could be there, will be wicked! (as usual )
  23. Hey guys and girls, I have managed to spend too much time at work and working on my own car, as a result I have had a chest infection turn into pleurisy and if I'm not careful I can develop pneumonia, so as a result we have scratched this event from our calendar and will be moving all rides to the event on the 23rd of July. All details will be the same except for the date. Still friday night etc. I'll update the post when we have more details. Stay sidewayz kidz, Dan.
  24. Hey Jess, Thanks mate, I'm pretty over it... pleurisy is not a lot of fun, but the doc tells me that we are moving away from pneumonia as opposed to towards it. As for the event specifics I can't be too sure, I would have to check the driving sports website and that might not offer a lot of information. From past experience I know that wet or dry events usually go ahead, however with drifting being knife edge stuff and even worse in the wet I'm not sure that eastern creek will be that keen to let us use the big track. Try contact driving sports and see what they say. Stay sidewayz kiddo, Dan.
