Its a lot better than the standard turbo but runs out of puff high in the rev range. Id go for a GCG high flow or 2535.
-
My understanding is after this stage things start to get expensive as you need to upgrade your turbo. This means for safe power your fuel pump, injectors and probably air flow meter will need upgrading.

Thats the problem with dyno days sometimes they dont take the time to set the cars up properly as it takes longer between runs. But unless the all the sensors are in the correct positions ect. the results mean nothing. Example Ice performance Dyno 195 rwkw All sensors in correct positions ect. 22 deg day in shootout mode. Local Dyno comp 156rwkw no sensors in airbox, no fans infront of the cars, 40 deg day, no shootout mode car ran great no pinging at all.

I put the 5 star shine polish on yesterday it has 2 parts the first is a wash that removes any old polishes oils ect and puts a + charge the paint. Then I polished with the step 2 it has a - charge. very easy to put on and you can see it disapeer deep into the paint. The shine on the car is great probably no better than the Megire's but hopefully it will still have the same shine in 5 years time as it claims. Kaz180 as for wasing with water I think you dont even need a sponge the dirt will just come straight off but ill let you guys know how it goes.

This particalar polish comes with 2 bottles the first one is a car wash its supposed to give the car a positive charge then the polish is applied as a negitive charge. It says only to wash with water only and once a your to use their PH car wash so remove any grime build up on the protective coat.

I have used Meguire's stuff really nice shine but doent last for very long. Then I used a product called glossgaurd it lasts for ages and the finish is just as good or better. But now I am going to try a product called 5 star shine PPS this is meant to last for 5 years and you only need to wash your car with water. Both products can be found at this website. Highly recomend the gloss gaurd and will let you guys know how the 5 star shine goes. It better be as good as they say it is because its very expensive www.5starshine.com

Good question not sure of the difference it would make in normal mode but in shootout mode it shouldnt make any difference as it allows for things such as as temperature, humidity, ect.

washed engine bay with high pressure, now running like a pig.

Id start by cleaning the coils and checking your plugs. -
Tomei Poncams, interesting instructions regarding BOV

I have no idea. But my car was the same when I blocked the hole jerking when comming off boost. -
There is heaps on the forums about this topic do a search mate. 10 to 11psi is the max I would run with the standard turbo. You Will will notice a gain in performance but often the ECU richens the mixtures when it sees the extra boost causing the engine to overfuel which can result in flat spots thoughout the rev range. The fix's for this are gap your plugs from 1.1 to 0.8 if you still have touble after that you my need a apexi SAFC (piggy back computer for air fuel ratios) or Apexi power FC (full aftermarket ECU). With full 3" exhaust from turbo back 10psi of boost and say an SAFC you will see around 160Kw to 175Kw ATW.

RX7 is more of a drivers car, and looks heaps better RX7 for me anyday.
-
Running stock boost you should be fine probably not a good idea on a 40 deg day though.
-
Power in sig dynoed at Ice performance. Car has 79000 on the clock dont know if its genuine K's but is in top condition
-
Id go a stock hi-flo turbo for sure with a set of tomei poncams.

Want to cool down for more boost!!!

Did you get fitting instructions with your cooler? I fitted it with a mate who is a machanic we took out time took most of the day. Fitting instructions should come with the kit you will need to cut a hole for the return pipe but its all in the intructions all the pipes fitted up nicely. Unfortunatly I got no pics while we were installing but I will post one of the finished job when I get a chance. Might be worth getting a quote on fitment if you are not very patient with machanical things. I have not upgraded my fuel pump although it would probably be a good idea to do so I have had it tested though and it is in good health. All my mods are in sig with the same mods and a good tuner you should get a similar power output. -
lets have a proper "this is my car pic" post

Your front bar is the same as mine(if thats your car in the sig) I had to cut about 20mm off the bottom lip for it to fit I also had to cut the front bar support. No big deal all fitted up well and looks good now its finished. I ran 10.5 psi before I had the cooler on and im still running that now I had a big miss after I installed it took it to my tuner and it turns out I had dirty coils they cleaned them, regaped my plugs and retuned my SAFC for a result of 195 at the rears and you could realy fell the differents in performance. -
I have heard that the standard springs are ok for drag but the standard shocks are not. Do a search for heaps of info on this topic

Want to cool down for more boost!!!

If there is extra lag it mus'nt be much because I did'nt notice any more at all. It would be nice to see a before and after dyno graph the boost curves. -
I have one the same as yours maccaz I dont have problems with boost spikes had it tuned at Ice Performance boost holds pretty well I run 10.5 pounds drops off to 9.5 by redline but Ice Performace said this is pretty good and even the electronic boost conrollers do that to a degree and yes they did tune the boost while on the dyno. They said Unless you have something like that (while pointing to GTR with a huge turbo) an EBC is not really worth it. This type of turbo xs vavle have a ball and spring design so that the wastegate does not open until the set boost level is seen (no wastegate creep) this results in faster spool up. I have the brass part of the controler open by half a turn and then fine tune the boost with the top blue part. Its interesting that yours spikes and mine does not.

I have a Hybrid cooler new type limited edition one it more than what I need im running 10psi made a big differents to power and I had no extra lag I would highly recommend one of these for the price they are great. -
I use to have a VN manual V6 these are probably the fastest of the the V6 commodore range the VS's-VT's couldnt get near it. I had Extractors, twin cats into a 2 1/2 exhaust, pod and a powerchip gold 98 chip. It used to fly for what it was I miss the rattly old beast. We timed it at 7 flat from 0-100 traction being the main problem no LSD so 8s and 8.5s wearnt uncommon.

Its expensive but it sounds really good. I might give it a go it has a 30 day money back guarantee too. http://www.5starshine.com/
