  1. And project number 2. I picked up an S14 shell that already had a full cage in it. Also has tubbed fenders and a few other things. I wasn't going to do anything to this one until I got the S13 running again, but I found a full bodykit(Bmagic bumpers and sideskirts, as well as Origin front and rear overfenders) for $500USD, so I couldn't pass it up. It also just so happened to be the same exact color as my chassis, a green off of a 94 Honda del sol... On the car... This one won't get much attention until the s13 is done, but that shouldn't be too far from now.
  2. Well, here in the USA, getting a skyline is very difficult. Getting a street legal skyline is even more difficult, and very expensive. So I went the next best route... SAU has been very helpful throughout my build(s) as information on the RB series engine is kinda limited over here. I decided it's about time I make a thread dedicated to my projects. First up is my 240sx convertible. I have had about 7 S chassis so far, and this one is without a doubt my favorite. When I bought it, all it had was a stock RB20 swap and a sad excuse for a bodykit. withing 10 minutes of getting it to my house, all that was stripped. One of the earliest pic's I have of it just after throwing the first s15 front end on it... And molding on the rear overfenders... The engine as it came in the car... After 3 sets of fiberglass fenders, I gave up and threw on a set of stock s15 fenders. Nothing a big hammer and a saw couldn't make fit And by fenders, I believe they would be called guards in Australia from what I've read on here. You'll have to forgive my wording as I'm in a different country. I also decided to paint the car bayside blue. My first real paint job, so its not perfect, but much better than primer. By this time, I had already done a bunch of stuff like 350z wheels, Sparco seats, etc... Threw on a Kouki wing... Because I could.... Got bored of the blue, so I threw on an Origin agressive kit and painted it metallic grey off the Lexus IS300... Also threw on a set of Eurolines... Picked up a set of Rotora brakes at a deal I couldn't pass up, but the Eurolines didn't quite clear. So I picked up a set of Volks. Horrible offset, but nothing a 2" spacer cant solve Some pics a friend took shortly after... For some reason, I thought I would go twin turbo on the RB20. Still have the parts, but not sure I'll ever go through with it.. Got rid of the rear seats... Picked up a 6Boost manifold. The quality is outstanding... I ended up going with a KKK k3T 3070MGA turbo. Also got my valvecovers powdercoated... I hate the design of the factory intake manifold, so we cut the factory runners... Then we mocked up factory RB26 ITB's and intake pletnum... Got the turbo side all ceramic and powder coated after we welded on the HKS 50mm wastegate flange... Got some flanges cut and welded to the runners... Did some porting... Close up of the welds... With the ITB's on... Pletnum mounted... In the car... How it sits now, just waiting for wiring and a tune... The car is FAR from perfect, but now I can go through and do the bodywork properly and build it the way it should be done. I'll update this thread as I make progress and post the results. Anyway, just thought I'd share my work(s) in progress.
  3. The water outlet was a pain to get to fit on my setup, I can only imaging what's going to have to be done with where your pletnum sits Ahhhh...but yours isn't in an S chassis, huh. You probably have a bit more room to play between your radiator and pletnum. You can see how close mine is. There's about 1/2" inbetween my radiator and power steering pulley. Unfortunently, the previous setup was a completely stock engine So with the new turbo/manifold/intercooler/etc... it will be impossible to tell exactly what gains are attributed to the ITB's. Being in the U.S., I can't just find someone with a stock RB20(or any RB for that matter) to swap it out on and do a comparison on a dyno either My only other option is to grab the intake off my spare engine and throw that on. But new I/C piping + dyno time = $$$. I'll still get a dyno graph of the current setup. But unless it completely kills my powerband and forces me to switch back to a stock manifold or weld a TB to the front of this setup, I don't think I'll spend the money to see a "before" graph. If that makes any sence. I too have read that on the RB20, it actually hinders response. But I'm the type that just has to find out for myself
  4. yup, we found out the same thing I wish I had thought to heat and bend them, that makes sense. Instead, we ported them. Here's a close up of the runner that lined up the worst, after porting. I'm not sure how far back you cut yours, but we thought this length lined up the best. And in theory, longer runners should work better with the gtr itb's, or so I'm told at least. Another cool thing about going this route; If the ITB'S don't work out, I can just take them off and get shorter studs to mount the pletnum directly to the runners. I'll make a thread here on how we built the manifold in a bit.
  5. I was going to PM you my response, but my post count is too low. I'll make a Intro and build thread later. Anyway, I spent a good ammount of time searching for a flange as well, impossible to find I ended up taking my turbo to a waterjet place and they cut a flange to match the exhaust housing. It would have been even easier if I had a gasket. If I remember correct, it cost me $35USD. If you want pics, just let me know. I still have the downpipe off. On a side note: I was told it is a k26 frame. Its a K3t 3070 MGA, the same that comes in the blitz/sard turbo kit. I have had absolutly no luck finding anything about this turbo, if you know much about these turbo's any info you could share would be appreciated
  6. Thanks for the props, I can't believe my pics have made it around the world that quick Heres how it looks as of now, although I am still waiting to finish the wiring before I fire it up. And here's a link to my build thread that covers every step of the way to do it yourself: http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/4236...b26-itbs-thread I'll keep everyone updated on the final results.
