hmm. I am getting a pretty negative feel about this car from everyone. Can anyone tell if the VIN/engine number is a genuine Nismo S Tune? Also, the rims do look genuine to me, I cant tell the difference.

I read an article ages ago on SAU about a pre-purchase inspection service which basically uses advanced technology and scans the layers of paint on the car to detect if there has been any structural damage as well. Sounded awesome and i cant believe i didnt bookmark it. Does anyone have it handy? Cause i searched and cant find it.. Also, just send him another text asking to send through VIN and engine number. So will post here when I find out.

I am still waiting for him to send through the engine and vin details. I cant wait to get it fasted, that will let us know definitively. He says it has genuine Nismo factory fuel pump, rims?(wtf), engine and everything else nismo. It certainly doesn't look like it thought, i suspect that it just has all the bolt ons and he is trying to say that its an equivalent Nismo S Tune... He owns a workshop here in melbourne though so he must know what he is talking about and seems pretty genuine so its hard to tell. Also he said its pulling 260 awkw, which definitely isnt stock!

Hi Guys, Just got off the phone with the owner. He is adamant that it is an S Tune engine, as this appears to be written on the engine block he says. He said something like it has the S in the engine number on the block and that it was a factory S Tune. I asked him to email me the VIN and Engine number so I can get is fasted. The post from Adzmax indicates that an S Tune engine looks totally different though, so this is a concern. He said it will come with the stock steering wheel with airbag, and stock airbox. So it should all be roadworthy! Hopefully it all works out okay, because I think it looks like a very nice example of a GTR and a rare colour too. What do you guys think?

yep i asked, he said its different. He said it come with stock nismo fuel pump etc too. I will have to get someone to fast it to be sure though. I was hoping someone could tell just by looking at the engine bay.

He says the engine block has a different unique code and built by nismo. Can anyone please shed any light?

They just put it on the dyno and found out its the other 02 sensor.

Taking it in to the mechanic tommorow to diagnose the issue. Will let you know what it was.

Guys, I can confirm this cat passes emissions. I was tested and passed with half the maximum CO2 levels required by laws. I would recommend this cat if your wanting to pass emissions and didn't notice a loss of power either.

It may be my ACC Valve needs cleaning, I just found a thread on SAU about this, and I will give it a go. Other than that I have no idea what it could be.

Yes, I have changed the spark plugs as I suspected that maybe the previous ones had fouled. I pulled them out and they were very black becuase my car was running very rich prior to fixing my 02 Sensor. New sparkplugs have gone in with (0.8) Gap and the problem is identical. Perhaps i should only have them gapped to (1.1) even though my mechanic says not too?

Hi, I need to pass emissions testing therefore I have brought my car back to completely stock. The history is that I took my car in to the mechanic to fix the below and bring my car back to stock: -Install stock airbox -Install stock exhaust -Install stock cat. -Replace 1 faulty 02 Sensor -Replace 6 leaking injectors Now that all of this has been completed my car is idling like crap, and is missing when driving under very light throttle the car hesitates/chokes from about 2,000 RPM up until 3,500 RPM. Although if I drive with heavy throttle the car drives and revs normally. My mechanic advised me to replace my spark plugs as they are most likely fouled as since they needed to start/stop the car heaps of times whilst repairing it.. So I replaced them with (0.8 Gapped plugs) as recommended by him. I did this, but the problem remains exactly the same. What could the issue be? Maybe I need to run the recommended stock gap of 1.1?

Yeah but to pass emissions I just bought a Catco 3". After I pass i will be taking it down to racepace for sure and get a nice high flow installed. feels good not having to pay a $1500 fine. More money for the turbo upgrades

Hey Mate, Yeah that helps heaps thanks! Yeah mine also runs the same all the way along including the tail lights. Seems like they repaired it properly which is good. You know whats weird though? On my mates R33 GTS-T the lower bumper sits out a few mill past the 'Skyline' and real tail lights. Anyway cheers your a champ and saved me from taking it back down.
