Hey, another interesting factor after reading through the engine failure thread (Engine Failure Thread) appears to be that it mainly affects R32 GTR's not R33 GTR's due to: "the drive engagement on a r32 rb26 is less than half the size of the r33-r34 oil pump engagement... nissan stuffed up and it a common prblem with wear and more power for the landing to crack then throw the gears out the back of the pump and send metal shavings all through the engine...." all i know is i am buying a Power FC, and getting it dyno tuned + Comp Test again this weekend just for piece of mind - maybe even wind the boost down a bit depending on what the mechanic says. (Going to Chasers Motorsport). -

Haha yeah, i am definitely still a newb and i do have alot more research to go but i think i am slowly learning. What you are saying is quite scary my friend i must admit, although i very rarely thrash my car and only occasionally give it a bit of a squirt on the road. From what you are saying the risk appears to be low and i will be upgrading turbos shortly anyway so as long as i don't thrash it on the track i should be fine.. hopefully. Anyway cheers for you help. -

Out of curiosity how would the engine go bang? wouldnt you just break the turbine wheel? Excuse my ignorance. also i was under the impression that once you remove the boost restrictor this makes the car run at 1bar, the guy before me had done this and when i did a comp test he said that all cylenders were perfect. so it just seems strange that the engine could fail thats all..? -

Seems to me though that if i were going to be upgrading my injectors and turbo soon that the next logical mod would be an Apexi FC. Apparantley you can run upgraded injectors with the stock ECU? I know that it wont make a huge increase in power upgrading just the ECU, but it should increase my fuel economy after a tune - and give me a strong platform to allow further modifcations such as turbos and injectors. -

Standard GTR injector size is 440cc from my research. Seems to me that i wouldn't need 700cc injectors becuase my power goal is only around 350awkw, so 550cc injectors should be plenty.. In regards to the Bosch over Nismo you are prohably right, not worth the extra coin just for the brand name. One thing i disagree with you on though is that the stock GTR turbos are struggling on 1bar, i have read on many different forums that 1bar is a safe and reliable boost level to run the stock ceramic turbos with. In fact when you remove the boost restrictor which comes stock with all GTR's that set the boost level to 1 bar automatically, which is still safe -

You read my mind, as i mentioned i would prefer to repair the injectors myself as i would like to learn how to do it. Trust me when i say there is no information on how to repair you injectors on here, in fact if i figure out how to do it i might even create a DIY how to repair your injectors thread.. What i might have to do is head down to repco and see if they can order a replacement kit from nissan direct, for o rings and insulators. Only problem is when i pull out the injectors i have no idea how to open em up to replace all the seals? I assume it would be fairly straigh forward, but do you need any special tools? -

The leak is definantley coming from the top of the injector but its hard to see exactly where from, maybe i will pull them out tonight and see if can pinpoint the leak that way. -

Thanks for the info, i havent taken my car to a mechanic once yet since purchase and have done all modification including full service by myself at home. I find that you learn about you car that way and save money at the same time. ideally i would love to repair the injectors myself, but i have searched ebay and forums and cant find a kit to repair the injector seals anywhere. -

he said nismo injectors are $180 each plus installation $1200 all up. he was from pro tek, yeah seemed way too pricey. I think ill be taking it to chasers motorsport they are always spot on. -

Thats quite impressive! im surpised that you think the PowerFC alone would increase power by up to 30kw at the wheels.. I will definantley be getting this then, especially since it can increase your fuel economy. Yeah i think Injectors may not be worth it until i upgrade my turbos. The mechanic said: $150 to repair you current ones: $1200 to get new injectors While it would be good to have bigger injectors now they would serve little purpose in terms of power increase i suspect. -

Yeah thats what i thought straight away too.. i havent been to the track yet to test 180km/hr speed cut. I really want to head down to the track actually so i might become a SAU paying member since i hear they organise heaps of that stuff quite frequently. -

Ok, perhaps this is of an ambiguous thread since lots of views and no replies.. Basically, do you guys think that just a Power FC and bigger injectors on a 33 gtr would make a huge difference in power? what would be a rought awkw power increase? -

Good news i traced the wire back and its just the O2 sensor. Ow well no extra power from plugging it in then.. seen that red wire cut before on the ECU before? cheers for your help buddy. -

Thanks man, i have gone an investigated everything you recommended. First of all i must have a stock ecu as it has the Nissan seal is still on it: But someone has cut a red wire from it and tapped up the end so it doesn't short anywhere.. what is this wire and why would they do this? take a look: Also the i have circled in red the 2 plugs they found disconnected this morning: I think we are getting closer to an answer thanks again! -

I'm confused buddy, your saying that it would only rev to 2500 rpm? But i was redlining it no problems, and it didnt feel like i had lost any power to be honest with you. I didnt even notice the difference than from the stock air box. -
Hi guys, I took my car to the mechanic and he showed me that my 2 air flow meter plugs where disconnected.. He said that this would affect the air flow mixtures and possibly even power output. Since my car isnt running properly now there is no way to test if this would increase my power now that they are plugged in. SO what affect would unplugged air flow meters have on a cars preformance, just more fuel bieng pumped into the engine yeah?

Hi there, Current Specs: R33 GTR 1996 Stock Turbos running @ 1bar Apexi POD Filters Apexi Front Pipes HKS High Power Exhuast Havent had it dyno tuned yet so not sure what power figure but i would have though at least 200awkw yeah? Expected Power Figure:? ___ New specs this monday hopefully: 550cc Nismo Injectors PowerFC Dyno Tune Expected Power Figure:? ___ Should i expect to see a large increase in power by just upgrading my ECU and Injectors? p.s i am upgrading my injectors becuase my current ones are leaking, or would it be better just to replace the O Rings? I am so lost at the moment and need guidance, im not sure if i am investing my money by upgrading my injectors. It would be good to get peoples opinions.

Hi Guys, Okay here it goes, i installed a new dash cluster only to find that the previous owner had disconnected the Air Bag light. When i installed the new cluster the Air Bag light would flash on and off repeatedly. Now since i am 99% certain that there was no accident history i began to wonder why this could happen?? Well i think i have the answer afer some searching.. Click here It seems as though the way to fix this is to reset the Air Bag ECU, very strange procedure: You can get rid of it by... Flashing ABS light reset Key on door open Key off Key on Hit the door pin switch 10 times Will only work if light is flashing Can someone explain this process in more detail please? what does each step mean? Im sure this will be of help to other fellow S2 GTR Drivers some day! Thanks, Harry

Hi guys, I can get Bendix Ultimates for around 40% discount becuase i have a mate that works at Repco, but i have heard bad things about them chewing up your rotors. I was wondering what the best alternative is, and whether you can still buy through Repco so i can get my discount :-) all opinions and experience would be appreciated,
