TNT australia are on strike today so my nissan dealer hasnt been able to deliver me the gaskets ive been waiting on................ i really do ask myself, what are the chances of this happening on the day i need parts..... fml.. ive pushed my tune back to the 7th of feb which falls onto a monday im pretty sure. ive re-done my boost control setup - basically just took out the factory lines to the wastegates and made up 2 equal length vac hoses and then T'd them together at the solenoid im just not sure where the best pressure source is - i can take it off the bottom of the plenum but thats quite far - i rather something closer im considering putting a nipple somewhere before the intercooler (hot side piping) so now that i have a few more days i decided to rip off the adaptor plate and replace that gasket too while im there, this is where im at so far and heres a pic of the injectors compared to the stock ones - direct replacement ftw just waiting on my hks cam gears, gaskets and o-rings from nissan

oh right - well since its only 1 vac signal you require (unlike the dejetro which needs two) i think you can get away with it being off the balance tube or you can do what i have done - put a nipple into runnings 3 and 4 and then T them together and run that to ur vipec
-
well since u have a single throttle body setup, a nipple almost anywhere on the plenum or even a T off an existing vac line on the plenum will be fine.

if its an old turbo you will have a hard time rotating it on the exhaust side coz of the rust etc even if all the bolts r lose haha

ill have some results up for a gtx3076r fitted to a friends sr20det which used to be running a gt3082r (409hp 21psi) on wednesday night hopefully it makes the same amount power at 19psi and comes on abit earlier - ill ask the tuner to put both turbos on the same graph if anyone wants?
-
well the genuine stickers are surely not lieing to me i think im running -2 degrees? i do not have any camber correction atm its all standard items
-
as said many times already, they will be fine im running 18 x 10 -15 and -2 offsets on my gtr and im getting away with it only coz ive recently rolled my gaurds - alot of scrapage before in the pic below the -2 is at the front which is flush and the -15 is at the rear which is sticking out quite abit and rubs the gaurd quite abit with a 245 tyre on it i have since swapped them back to front and its averaged out now and its not a drama to drive, especially now that the gaurds are rolled - it seems the front gaurds swallow up wheels better than the rears to be honest, perfect wheels for a gtr are 19 or 18 x 10 +0 but i dont think anyone makes wheels at that size/offset

theres a spot that seems to collect alot of mud and create rust on alot of cars bottom of the fender (front qtr panels) on the door side where the mudflap/pod is - if you undo the fender from there and pull away the black plastic youll find alot of crap falling out - keep that area clean - if its clean already then your car has probably had a clean life so far i guess just dont let any mud and sand develop anywhere and it should be ok - you cant really stop rust without being anal about it - if its gonna happen just fix it before it gets too large

although you might not find the answer to your questions in that threadyou should give it a gander, shows a guy from HKS doing abit of porting, the guy who made the thread took excellent pictures http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/246240-hks-japan-28-engine-build/

laziness has the better of me - i will leave them purple
-
what tells you that? car idled perfectly all the time :S whats the easiest way to check the gasket? did you get my email btw?
-
wont look like this for long nipples for map sensors installed tried to get them as flush as possible Got some piping made up, just need to buy some pod filters and the intake side of things is done thats all ive got done so far, waiting on nissan to deliver my gaskets and injector o-rings

well after a couple of hours of careful work, i have successfully drilled and tapped the holes, i also used high temp permatex thread sealant on the thread of the nipple and put those nipples into their new home so for the record, you cannot drill it anywhere else because the injectors are in the way. Theres only 2 ways to do this, get the vac feed off the balance tube or you can drill into runners 3 and 4 which i have done, on an angle. ill post up pics tonight for future reference.

this thread should be under cosmetics
-
it shouldnt cost you more than 200-300 bucks to get it professionally painted. im actually thinking of ripping off my covers tomorrow and painting them gold (same gold as my wheels) and then sanding the 'RB26' back with a block so its silver/chrome - i just cbf ripping out my radiator, taking off the crank pulley to get the bottom cover coz thats purple aswell
-
haha why do you say that? i had the throttle bodies off and i was picking away at the crispy gasket, i put it back on to take a photo - all that black stuff is silicone - whoever did the gaskets before did a good job only problem with having the nipples just behind the throttle blades is that the injectors are in the way but ill test it out 2moro to see if it clears or not, if it does then ill just have to have them on those other red dots closer to the engine on an angle so its not in the way of the injectors how is it only a 5min job to take the rest off? doesnt the bottom and top champers need to come off first? seems like a mission.. if i have to do it, i will do it, but sumthing tells me it will be a waste of time

plenum is off! took me a good 4-5 hours..... should be able to do it quicker next time round now that i know what needs to be removed and where all the bolts are etc ill be installing the 2 nipples tomorrow as most places are closed today ... and as soon as my gaskets arrive, ill bolt it all back together - ill post up pics 2moro night

I thought id revive a topic rather than make another one so here goes! Ive pulled my plenum off and im now stuck at choosing where to place my 2 nipples for the map sensors. This is where im at so far: I have put red dots on my choices of where i want to put the nipples. If i put the nipples on the throttle body plate i save myself alot of hassle but im just not sure if it will work. Has anyone placed a nipple there before? The other alternative is to push a rag down runners 3 and 4 and apply some grease and start drilling into the 2 red dots that are closer toward the engine which i really do not want to do. I do not want to remove that item off the engine either Its seems much easier to cover the wholes rather than removing that whole thing....... taking the plenum off was a pain by itself lol.

haha yeah MP is an excellent colour indeed! i also think the orange indicators at the front do not require changing, infact ive seen a few with the "clear" ones and they look kinda orange too coz of the globe inside them, i know u can get a special globe that looks chrome but flashes orange still, but i rather not spend 150-200 bucks on indicators any time soon...... my injectors have arrived so im ripping off my plenum and throttle bodies tomorrow (yes on australia day ) so i can drill and tap 2 holes for my map sensor feeds i ordered in new intake manifold gaskets, injector o-rings and all those other o-rings that i apparently need if im taking off that top vacuum chamber off. $212 worth of gaskets just to remove a plenum.....

if your not competent enough to pull down the front end, observe whats broken and replace it then i suggest you find a mechanic you can rely on - preferrably a performance workshop who works with RB's regularly. a new water pump should do the trick but we cant really tell you much else unless we can see what has happened.
-
Eh? ive ran a low temp thermostat before and it does exactly that - it holds the coolant temperature lower than a standard one does but its not a good idea for a street car, especially if its not tuned to operate at those lower temps (65-75 degrees of the top of my head)
-
i have a dejetro with GTR 33D etc on it, i can tell u what it says on the back of the hand controller if you still need? but it will have to wait till 2moro as its at my workshop
-
f**k yeah, that looks sweet! i want your headlights
-
drop your exhaust and see how much of a difference you feel - if its alot then thats probably your answer post up dyno sheets if u have any
