  1. Hate to disapoint you but around my area it's p-platers in R33 GTS-T's that are the morons. Don't want to stir anyone up but they are everywhere. Every dick that can't be bothered building a Coomodore to beat his mates just buys a Skyline. They aren't Skyline fans or enthusiasts and didn't know what one was before the release of Fast and Furious.
  2. Hehe, I'm 35 and drive a GTR, does that make you proud? LOL! Seriously, where I am it's not too bad but all the kids in their GTS_T's are suddenly your mate when you own a GTR. Anyway, they were all coming around wanting a look and then one idiot (who wouldn't shut-up about how he drifts which is a giveaway that he can't drift for shit) lights up the tyres in my court as he leaves. I'm in a small country town and this was a quite Sunday afternoon. To top it all off he does it right in front of my neighbours brand new Accord Euro. He couldn't understand why I wasn't impressed. Needless to say he doesn't come around anymore.
  3. For anyone interested (I will get more details later) it just came off the Dyno and recorded 300 kw at the rear wheels with the 4WD fuse pulled. If anything, despite what we thought, it's running a little lean rather than rich. :headspin:
  4. I was about to say I bet he only stopped wearing his HSV jacket when he bought his VL beater. I don't cruise, race, park, do blockies, etc. I just love my GTR and what anyone else thinks of it or wants me to do in it doesn't bother me. Having said that, I have noticed the amount of morons getting around in Skylines nowadays, especially R33 GTS-T's.
  5. When you say you found a GTR for under 20 was that at Prestige? If so that car will in reality set you back closer to $23,000 to $25,000 on the road. While most of PretigeMotorsport's costs are up front, it's all the unseen things that quickly build up. Plus, if it's loaded with goodies don't expect them all to be still there once the car arrives.
  6. Welcome Anna, male or female it's another Skyline family member. Plus another Gunmetal Grey R32 Hey SkylineGeoff, I may be able to help you, check your emails.
  7. Sorry Gav, didn't see yours until after my last reply. Thanks for the info. My mate did say that the chip swap was a oneway operation and couldn't be returned to standard. I'll post what I find when I finally get it on the dyno.
  8. Thanks RedLineGTR, I've been registered round here for a year or two but will be a more frequent user now I have my car here. I used the search function and found heaps about it. I agree with you and think the first step is the dyno which I have access to for nothing anyway, just haven't got round to it yet. Most Mines ECU's I've seen (which isn't many) will have a big gold Mines Plaque. It should also have Mines seals on the sides. I've never thought much about aftermarket ECU's but now that I've found mine has the Mines chip I'm a lot more interested. Sorry Flo but can't help you.
  9. Thanks for the reply. I'll get my mate to see if he can connect to it then and read it. I know the case is still the standard item and that l the Mines part is just a chip added to the main board but I thought maybe it required Mines software to be able to do any tuning. If we can find out more I will post it here.
  10. While fitting an immobiliser and turbo timer to my R32 (which finally arrived about 6 weeks ago) I discovered that it has a Mines ECU. Does anyone know where I can get info on them in English or of any tuners in Vic with the means to tune it.
  11. A friend is looking for somewhere in Australia to source parts for his FJ20ET. He is mainly after conrods, cams, etc. Can anyone help? There is so many FJ20ET powered 1600's now that parts must be available somewhere.
  12. ; I take it to Tassie every year for 10 days fishing and while it's a little cramped it will go anywhere. Plus mine is the coil sprung model so it's got great tractability. I might even strengthen the internals next year and put a small huffer on it.
  13. Do what I've done for the last 10 years. I always loved my Nissans but I also go snowboarding, mountain biking, fishing, etc. and needed a 4WD. In '93 I introduced myself to the cult world of Suzuki Sierra ownership which enabled me to also hang on to my Skyline at the time. Now I've owned 3 and my bro still has the first one I got, an '83 with Toyota 5K and headers. My current one is a '97 coil sprung that I bought new and traded my Ti on it. Never regret the Suzi, do regret selling the Skyline. A few weeks and I'm back my old position. By the way, my Suzi has a 2" lift and 235 Kuhmo's and I still haven't found anywhere I can't go.
  14. Yes you are mad. I always regret selling my R31 Ti and now my R32 GTR will be here in a few weeks I've promised to never get rid of it.
  15. My R32 GTR will be on a boat next week or the one after all thanks to Geoff at Prestige. I often thought he'd be getting sick of my calls and emails but quite the contrary, in fact he'd often call or email me. Nothing but prise for their service. As stated above, any individual or company can import a car but if it is less than 15 years old, was privately owned by you and driven by you for 12 months in the country or origin or is being imported for race use then it must be on the SEVS list and be complied by a RAWS workshop. As mine is an 89 model and due to the fact I paid for it before September 2nd, 2003, I only need to carry out the ADR work and get an engineers sign off and roadworthy.
