Ezy Imports?
jizza replied to grt87's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Pretty funny that this came up, a mate of mine and I found these guys website the other day and came to the same conclusion; that its probably bullshit. But then again if it is true i'll happily sell GTT car for a $16,000 R34 GTR. Does anyone want to take one for the team and phone up? Maybe try for a quote on something... -

I was thinkin about picking up a top secret style front bar from justjap, does anyone know much about the quality? At $550 i'm guessing its not a genuine one, and i've heard nasty stories about fakies before. Ta Jiz

I use the HKS Silent Hi-Power on my R34, I'm pretty sure its a full 3" system. It has a decent note and not too droney. I'd also strongly recommend a Bosimporting highflow cat and split dump pipe which is run by one of the traders on the forum. I think his name is Batmbl, plenty of other SAU members will be able to vouch for this gear, its top quality and all fits together with no dramas! This is a pretty awesome set up that would suit your application nicely. Jizm

R34 Gtt - Auto "flaring"
jizza replied to colossus's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I'm experiencing similar problems, particularly when the gearbox is cold is that the same with everyone else? I'm at about 200rwkw now and I'm interested to know how much power the semi-auto can handle? Does the "flaring" damage the gearbox or is it just the electronics interfering to prolong the life of the gearbox? Cheers, Justin -
anyone want to sell me a cai box?

R34 Owners... Front Mount Intercoolers
jizza replied to Silver_R34_GT-T's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I got my Blitz kit from nengun, which ended up being a few hundred dollars cheaper than getting it from Auto Barn. Install wise I was pretty much winging it and got pretty well aquainted with my grinder by the end of it. Goodluck -
Factory Ecu Tune For Skylines! Great Results!
jizza replied to jizza's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Howie, from what I understand boost can be raised whilst still using the factory solenoid, my boost was only raised a few psi.... think I'm now running 11psi up from 9. So that particular tune was one utilising the daughterboard, check throughout the post, I'm pretty sure its been mentioned. I'm sure James can confirm that for sure for you though. -
Factory Ecu Tune For Skylines! Great Results!
jizza replied to jizza's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
By the sounds we're starting to flesh out some of the more important similarities and differences a tune like this can offer. And its all pretty interesting to know exactly what's available and how many options we have at our disposal. I spose now its just a matter of finalising what kind of cost is involved and what kind of application suits each specific person. ei. using this tune means that your ECU is still tunable for when you add further modifications, which lets face it, nearly always happens lol. -
Hi all, I'm chasing a cold air intake box to hide my pod from the 5-0. I'm mainly interested in a carbon fibre one, but I will consider other options. I'm located in Brisbane, any help would be muchly appreciated. Ta, Justin

Not sure what car your putting this onto, but i picked up a split dump pipe for my R34 from Bosimporting which is one of the traders from here and its excellent. The guy from the exhaust place that fitted it commented that it was a nice piece of gear. maybe worth checking out their site which i think is www.bosimporting.com.au . also the they have pretty competitively priced cats which are excellent as well. Factory Ecu Tune For Skylines! Great Results!
jizza replied to jizza's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks for the back-up there James. I think what one of the most important differences here that justifies the extra cost is that this is a vehicle specific tune that can be changed if for instance you added more mods that would throw out your original tune and utilises quality technology and expertise. And if you compare the difference if say you were to purchase a power fc then have that tuned as well this is a significantly cheaper option which gives similar tuning perameters. Jizm -
Mine does that too, tempramental confounded thing. Any easy fix for this other than getting a new gauge?

Factory Ecu Tune For Skylines! Great Results!
jizza replied to jizza's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I went down and saw James at BPS today to get some more info for the critics. This is how it goes, similar to what darkhalf mentioned about the Nistune program (nice hi-jack), the tuner can manipulate the factory ECU in real-time, much like an autronic or Power FC. This is achieved by adding new hardware to the factory ECU (daughter board). This acts as an external storage device which contains maps for the ECU, which is different from a flash tune, or simple remap and is better because it doesn't simply "trick" the ECU into running different settings. From here the tuner can remove the speed cut, adjust boost, timing and fuel. The good lads from BPS will soon be providing a more in depth explanation after everyone has finished having their rant. The results are quite impressive, in fact with my new exhaust the car dynoed at 198.9kw atw, which I'm stoked with. For some reason it won't let me upload my dyno sheets, anyone got any suggestions? I'm really happy with the result and I'm sure plenty of others will be to. Keep on eye on this post for some more specifics. If you like what you see James from BPS Cleveland is the man to speak to. Lol, sounds like I need far more technical info, I'll phone up tomorrow and get the full details. I don't think its just a remap because from my understanding (which is clearly limited) they install some kind of emulation software into your ECU... Don't quote me on this but I'll find out for sure tomorrow and clarify any questions. I'm quite sure I haven't been taken for a ride because I was of the opinion you can't change factory boost levels and remove speed limiter and boost cut. But like I say, I'll find out full details and end speculation. Watch this space for more details. -

I was the test dummy for the program so I actually got it for free... but i think your looking at around the $1000 mark, if ur interested I can give you the phone number and BPS can hook you up with a quote. And yes, that does include timing. Reason it got run with the leak was because it wasn't detected right away. I was keen to get the car back, and we didn't have time to pull the whole front bar off to adjust the hose clamp. I'm fixing up the leak and taking it back down early next week. Might see if I can get my exhaust fitted before then as well to take advantage of the free tune. Still working on the dyno sheet.. won't upload as an attachment -
Hey guys, I recently made one of the luckiest phone calls of my life and happened upon the opportunity to trial a new tuning program that can manipulate the factory ECU is most Nissans, including all skylines. The guys at BPS at Cleveland in Brissy were able to change the factory air/fuel ratios, as well as factory boost levels with the standard boost solenoid. My car is an R34 with the tiptronic semi-auto and I have been looking for something like this for a while now and I'm totally stoked with the results. My car is pretty close to standard, the only mods are: - K & N Pod filter - Blitz LM FMIC - BOV So as you can see I don't really have any substantial power mod upgrades... not even exhaust yet. On the first few runs the car dynoed between 155 - 165kw at the treads. After some adjustments, and an extra pound or two of boost and it ran 183.5KW ATW!! With room for more potential, AFM was maxed out due to a boost leak in my cooler piping. Dyno sheet won't attach, but ill work on getting it on. I think the results speak for themselves, pretty awesome option for anyone not wanting to fork out the expense for a full after market ECU. If anyone wants any further info hit up the guys at BPS and they'll be happy to help you out. Cheers, Jizm
