  1. do situps bending at the hip holding the core straight, sliding hands up to the knees, holding and back down. not crunches, you will feel it in your lower abdominals more. Do side bends, or torso twists with a bar.
  2. I think I've explained it to you before, in your thread maybe. The body adapts to what you eat, over weight/skinny people for e.g. eat rabbit food, eat a real meal and blow out 'survival mode'.... It works both ways, you can slowly increase your caloric intake over time and stay the same fat percentage. 3000 calories a day, you have room to decrease 1000 calories a day on a diet or gradually over time with age in your case and 2000 calories is still a fair bit of food for most. Or eat 2000 calories a day, then when you start eating less, say the same 1000 calories...that's 1000calories..you aren't eating much.. No room to move is the point. With your theory you'll be eating lettuce and water by time you are 60. So, with gradual addition of calories, usually carbs, weekly, you can increase intake whilst the body adapts. The higher your daily intake is, the more room you have to move when dieting.or just eating less with age in your case. I think Birds started eating a couple of extra bits of toast or something a while back? (Chime in Birds) he is still same weight and figure, That's the metabolic adaption, therefore his metabolic capacity is now higher.
  3. Lift heavier weight for less reps. You'll still be exerting yourself. I'd start building up your metabolic capacity while you can, that way in years to come, when you get worried, you have room to move to stay a shape you want.
  4. Sorted out all those injuries that prevent you from progressing yet Dan?
  5. Yeah that is right, people know their body limits. but hitching is hitching and it is poor practice whether it works for him or not.
  6. Agreed. The lifters that have been referenced still complete a 'competition' lift, not something so far removed it shouldn't be carried out. I think Markos says something along the lines of, 'Leave your ego at the door' when going to PTC. You're only cheating yourself. Agreed. All this means imo is that you aren't ready for that weight yet. You've over come a mental barrier because you feel better for 'lifting that weight' 'getting that number' but if you waited a consistent couple of weeks, it would of became an 'easy' clean movement acceptable to the true form. Submaximal training is a powerful thing. I agree with the second part somewhat A rounded back that is induced from heavy weight is somewhat a buffer if they are still tight, if you're rounded and then lift with the same amount of breakdown, where does the spine go?
  7. I dont think your lift on christmas and rounding of back go together. I personally would put it in the category that Boz is talking about, 1rm, pb or not. but, like you said, you're happy, so thats all that matters...
  8. ironic.... they're*
  9. Boz made the statement. I only asked you a question into your thoughts on whether you no longer resembled a given 'type' albeit, more musclar. Even when you were fat at 91. I agree with your statement of the blame placing, and agree body shapes can be changed. No one disgareed with that. I dont agree with your ignorance to given body types.
  10. Who has said that?
  11. This is my point birds.
  12. you self admitted that you were a lot fatter at 91, so of course you'd look different. We're talking about base body shapes, as said, any shape can be changed. and you dont think different muscle insertions and bone lengths attribute to these body shapes? Boz fitting in seats Dan did not, at a heavier weight, does that suggest that body shapes are different? or just that they like seat feel different?
  13. exactly, there are base body shapes. - does not mean they can not be changed, whether it be muscle of fat. At 6'3 and 80kg, do you think you're not an ecto shape anymore birds? albeit a muscley one?
  14. what sort of driving do you want to do? where do you want to end up?
  15. now i know of a bigger one, which is still only 1300.... nearly a litre of milk to mix it.....i imagine its reeeeeal tasty.
  16. Haha, I dont do crossfit and I don't like the multiple rep/poor form stuff done by a lot. If they are strong enough to do the reps for time without drastic form breakdown, they are doing it right. i.e. PROS
  17. Even the 'biggest' mass gainer i know of isnt even 1000 calories, thats over 150g carbs and 80g protein per serve. I use mass gainers when im cutting some times, time restrictions mean i use supplementation... so your leptin levels are out but you dont think naturally occuring base body shapes exist?
  18. at what speed? Crossfit is a combination of lots of things.
  19. We know NPC do the centers, see if they'll do something. I find the NPC twin plate really easy to drive
  20. There is nothing wrong with Crossfit when it is performed correctly. As with everything.
  21. enough? I get what you're saying, but it's just not right.
  22. Hai Dan. West Coast is an epic place, but best to be seen in 4wd to get the most out of it. The whole east coast is much more user friendly, but with two weeks you could definitely circumnavigate your way around the state. You definitley should see Swansea and the likes, go see Pete too, he makes nice wallets. Job wise, I'm not in IT. I have done a couple stints here and there ( big island ) and feel it was enough to determine where i would rather be at. I could walk into a job on the big island, but choose not to as imo, they would have to pay me quite a bit more to make the move worthwhile. That being said, if i lost my job here i wouldn't really have a choice. So many people move away for a 'better' life because of no work blah blah..... they usually work in McDonalds still, just in another state, paying higher rent. The Sun/Heat situation has to be experienced first hand. Ive worked with copious ex mainland people and they all get burnt because of ignorance. 'its only 23, its not hot' .... In the heatwave of 2009 record temperatures were hit, 39 in Hobart I think.... I was changing my shirt half way through the day on the NW, went straight to Rockhampton for 3 months for work and the first two weeks were 40-42.... I wasn't sweating as much as the locals. Also, never look at Devonports temp as an indictaion. Its at the airport, right off Bass Straight. Basically 5km away from it and you can add 5 degrees. You're not just going to spontaneously combust though. Just be sun smart. Im a day walker as well, as you put it.
  23. You realise leesh is female, right?
  24. There is/was. I have had one before. Can't help with the part number. They are ugly and the A & B loom still have to be wired into the naked board.
