oh yeah , i was just pointing out that 50k isnt really an exaggeration at all, as you said on the first page when comparing it to a V8 drag car, also backing it up with my experience in gathering parts over time as cheaply as possible - no labour.
but thats enough about that!
all in all goodluck with the build! Be sure the guys you use really do know what works and whats not needed.
BoostdR is onto something
TO4Z should net you a responsive 600hp on a 3 or 3.2l
8 sec could quite possibly be achieved with a stripped out, auto, blown v8 in a old cheaper car...
once you start messing with skylines,RB's and Turbos its where the money adds up.
i purchased everything for my build to do it right the first time as cheap as possible and it was uncompleted at ~30k not including the car or driveline!
GT35 on a 26/30 in a GTR is quite ballsy
i reckon youll have more luck buying a roller and selling off the parts you dont want/need.
I doubt anyone has stripped a good GTR shell just for the sake of it
Basically the smallest part in the whole gearbox has gave it up!!
so if anyone knows the part number of the 'slide ball bearing' that goes into the sandwich plate that the main selector shaft runs through, be sure to let me know!!
well building a twin cam 30 is going to be more expensive than buying a GTST,
also, you dont just buy a balanced RB30 crank, you get it balanced to your rods, pistons, balancer, flywheel for it to be balanced properly
Boost31 was referring to my last name, which a long running family nickname is 'Stig' , well before topgear was around.
and 50k GTR? id like to see it be built for 50k.
im hoping to beat a door slammer, maybe i'll pull a 6second run out my arse*
*this is complete sarcasm
