What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?
BoostdR replied to Hanso's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Finished building and installing my stroked VQ25DET today. Came out to 2.771ltr. Built myself. VQ35 crank and forged rods, remaining parts are modified VQ25DET. Should I start a build thread ? Any Interest ? -
It was running 26psi.

I found the back pressure in my exhaust would prematurely open the valve. You may find even with a bleed valve it may not want to stay closed. Have you tested it with the boost line disconnected ? With mine closed my fueling requirement dropped by 13% and timing had to be retarded up top by approx 4 degrees. other wise exhaust manifold pressure/gas would creep back into the cylinders at high rpm and cause knock. I’ve read through your thread and I’m going to go out on a limb and say the EMU isn’t safe to use on your setup. The turbo you have is quite stout which makes the sensitivity of your engine to an improper tune substantial. The time spent rebuilding engines and constantly touching up the tune will justify moving to a safer more suitable option like the LINK fury ecu. Benefits are substantial: -automatically adjust fueling based on fuel pressure so risk of leaning out is greatly reduced -Ability to simulate MAF output to keep the transmission happy when running a MAFLESS tune -No hot start problems that you get with the EMU when trying to balance correct injector lag times vs injector size compensation. -Full rpm & load closed loop wideband fuel compensation -Gear based fueling&ignition timing -CAN bus integration to retard timing and boost during OEM torque reduction requests for gear change. I think I may be the only one with this working atm -CAN bus integration for Gear Position status in tiptronic mode. Again not sure if anyone else has the message IDs identified for this -ethrottle control for torque reduction at high rpm. Solves the over rpm issues when trying to change from 1st to 2nd under big power. Enables the rev limiter to be soft on the engine. -Cam Angle Ignition and Fueling compensation. -Perfect tuning gauge display is plug n play -perfect hot & cold starts -Flex fuel tuning for any combo of E85 and ULD -Fuel Temperature compensation -Anti-Lag -Cruise control -proper data logging -proper individual cylinder knock control -etc etc etc As you can see what you get for the extra $ makes a substantial difference to your ability to mitigate against unstable combustion, ie engine damage. Also protection of the transmission. I’ve been through 5 gearboxes and 3 engines so learnt a lot along the way. First M35 325awkw. Second M35 411awkw Matt

water to air intercooler, has anyone done a stagea?
BoostdR replied to oxford1327's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I modified an AMG E550 intercooler. It’s better in every way than an air to air unit apart from complexity. -

Strange noise at 1500rpm. VQ25DET
BoostdR replied to Darkmeat's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
The EVTC activates at 2.5volt output from the MAF sensor. You can control the activation point by manipulating the MAF signal. Don’t forget to fix the fueling if you do. Also the trans shift timing will be affected with any modification of MAF output. Matt -
Changing it by the ROM is certainly the smarter option.

The Chinese one. It's works fine except logging isn't overly stable. I already sold my spare btw

Gearbox loud knocking sound r33 GTR
BoostdR replied to Tomak's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I found they would break when changing gear too quickly. If you slow down the shift speed they seem to last considerably longer. I also went to redline lightweight shockproof gear oil. The smurf blood, and didn't break another box -
Gearbox loud knocking sound r33 GTR

I've broken 13 gearbox's in my old GTR. familiar with that sound. Would put money on a gear or cluster shaft loosing a tooth. -

Differences between factory and Bose speakers?

Bose speakers are different impedance and run from a Bose amplifier which incorporates sound phasing to suit the cabin. -

throttle limp mode? . Sounds like you need a new throttle body like Fishingfreak said. I had the same thing. Wouldn't rev over 1250rpm. Restarting the car multiple times fixed it for a small period. Had the restart the car 5 times to get home. The no start could be the MAF gone at the same time. Try unplugging the MAF and restart the car multiple times until it realizes the MAF is unplugged. MAF limp mode revs to 2200rpm only.

R32 Gtr Build In Usa
BoostdR replied to HarrisRacing's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
I removed the squish zone on a previous engine and it made my car noticeably laggier. All depends on the type of piston dome matched to the head however.
