  1. lol, its funny cause its true..thats what i get not driving her enough. The 4 door has trans issue's. It runs a 5 speed auto with kevlar clutches and hi/po valve bodies. Mik from MV needs to cast some more goodness over it. Its the car from Zoom Mag. In about 11 issues I think. (Project 11's) looking like the choice will be between my GTR with a new battery or a Cefiro.....no brainer I'm thinking. Oh......hang on I do have my $200 Camry Station wagon.....lol Nothing better than working on your car with some good mates and a few beers.
  2. Should be in hmmn, which car shall I bring.. Will remember my UHF HH this time
  3. more for the old, unsafe cars. No mention of modified vehicles.
  4. winning bid $10,100....WTF
  5. sorry for the late reply -wj- (my new account is now BoostdR) The SIP that is faulty is the same as installed in a STD RB25 ECU, just swap them out.
  6. What does FTW mean?
  7. Gap the spark plugs to .7mm and clean the Air Flow meter with Carby Cleaner.
  8. Since I have used both HKS2530's will make 370-380rwkw GT2860R-5 will make 340-360rwkw (better response as the compressor wheel 0.5mm slightly smaller) When It comes to HKS GTSS or the Garrett version (GT2860R-7) you are mad to pay for the HKS name because that is the ONLY difference. This is why the HKS GTSS's can be had for so much cheaper than the HKS-GTRS or 2530, but they are still 800-$900 more expensive over the Garrett's.
  9. I know of a fully built RB20. pm me if you are interested. The engine has low km and can be tested in any way CP forged pistons, ported heat, etc
  10. I know of a certain 2JZ with a KU engineering Plenum and TB making 430rwkw, And a GTR that went 2seconds faster a lap (Mallala) after installing one. I am also looking at using one for my RB31DETT. FYI RB20, RB25 use the std runners RB26 have KU Engineering cast runners to replace the throotle bodies

  14. 2-2.5 thou Depends on how hard the car is going to be run. I would use a larger PTB for a tracked car over an all street setup..something like 3-3.5thou Teflon coated skirts work well with tight PTB figures...however are not required.
  15. I am also building a Rb30/26. I have asked Nathan from HiOctane which Hyper tune Plenum would suit....here is the correspondence ---------- Hi Matt, It depends what you are using the car for. If you are using it for street use then yes they are good(6throttle Hypertune). However if you are just going for outright power then you are better off with a single throttle plenum. What size did you need those pistons in? Regards, Nathan Welland Sales And Marketing ---------- I use the car for street and track days, The drag strip in Adelaide is closed I am a firm believer in achieving maximum average power and torque. What gains will the 6 throttle plenum achieve at my target power/Flow? Matt ------------- Hey Matt, The plenum itself does make more power than the standard one. Once you reach over 400kw atw it is no longer the plenum that becomes the restriction it is the throttle bodies. The 6 throttle is better for over all response not maximum power figures. Regards, Nathan Welland Sales And Marketing --------------- Hmmmmn, That's hard to believe since the combined area of the 6 butterflies minus the shaft is still more than the single TB. I guess the extra turbulence caused at the inlet causes the issue. So you would say. 6 TB Plenum for GT-SS, 2530, GT2860R-5 Single TB Plenum for Big Singles I guess I'm right on the line.......I think the 3ltr will give pretty decent response so very hard to say which will make more average power.... hmmmn Matt ------------ Oh sorry I didn't realise you are running a 3L ( now that I look back over the emails I see you did say 30/26 ) On a 3L the multi throttle is not worth it single all the way. We are using a single on our new R34 race car which is a 3L. Regards, Nathan Welland Sales And Marketing
  16. I hope you are adjusting your tune to support your new mods......
  17. RB25DET Plenum Top half or complete In Adelaide PM
  18. Power will kick in that same time no matter what boost level. I would expect +ve boost below 2000rpm with -5's and maybe 280rwkw @13psi (1.6bar or 23.5psi is what you will need to make 350rwkw) On 2530's I would expect +ve boost almost 1000rpm later but the time it takes to reach the same level is less(they spool quicker after the late start...) I would expect full boost a little later. I have tired both with the same mod's. The simplest way to put it is the -5's lack the top end punch but make up for it with a broader torque curve...."and it's torque that wins races" I used to slip the clutch quite often but hardly ever do now. I'm just about to remove mine after 6,000km's as I have HKS GTRS's and a RB26/30 to go in. PM me if you want some and I'll do you a good deal.
  19. hey TommO! Its BOOSTD here, my account has been stuffed for a while now....tried to email Cristian to fix but no reply. I wish I had full boost by 4050rpm....as I stated it was 1bar at that level...full boost for me is anywere between 1.6-2bar depending on the fuel weather etc.
  20. Rev I think your estimates are a little unrealistic even though the figures are proven achievable. For the average builder who doesn't run race fuel or another $20,000 of added boltons. You can expect 300-330rwkw from GT-SS's 350-370rwkw from 2530's 330-355rwkw from 2860R-5's I have used both 2530's and the -5's. I find the -5's to be much more useable for daily driving and track days. They start making +ve boost at 1600rpm...so pretty much have positive pressure when ever I want it. They make 1 bar of boost at 4050rpm. The 2530's have a slighly larger compressor(.5mm) and a trim suited to higher boost coupled with the diiferent HKS turbine Housing...they look the same but they are definately not internally. The 2530's gave the impression of feeling fast as the boost response was quite servere (sledgehammer) I find the -5's to be much more progressive with MORE boost at lower revs but very simliar rpm range where 1bar is made.
