  1. just out of curiosity, what is the skyline waving ettiquette? am i supposed to wave at any skyline, or just ones with SAU stickers??
  2. In terms of performance, i can't really say as i have not done any dyno comparisons - though i think that someone has on this site before.
  3. Yeah, after everything i have read, i've come to the conclusion that using the stock air box is a far better option. Not only is it now legal - the pod is not in nsw - but it aids in bringing the intake temperature down, which is better for performance.
  4. I went from a HKS Mushroom filter, to an Apexi POD. I still found the induction noise too loud for my liking, so went to stock air box with an apexi panel filter. Can't really hear the induction any more, but thats cool, now i can hear my engine and exhaust note, which i find alot better
  5. Someones been playing too much GTA!
  6. Well i'm in NSW, so that doesnt help me at all !! But yeah, that's what i'm wanting to do as i work on the car
  7. Gday all, This is probably a real dumb question; but here goes anyway; as we work on our cars, replacing this and that, we generally need these things; 10mm bolts of varying lengths, associated nuts, and vacuum hoses and such. Question is, where do we get these things? I've bought a pack of high-tensile 10mm bolts from supercheap, but there's got to be a place i can get them in more bulk (i.e. pack of 100 instead of 10 etc) Where do you guys stock up on these things?
  8. Agreed 100%. Man i was hooked on that game bigtime.
  9. So you guys saying you shoulnd't be able to hear the stock fuel pump? I can hear mine quite clearly when turning the key
  10. Damn, that sounds dangerous!
  11. Yeah, the upper two (the holes that line up above the wheel) had those grommets , the lower two, which bolt into a little mounting bracket above the intercooler didn't. It was one of these lower points that didn't line up properly. No big deal i guess. As for power, thats what I read also. I'm not aiming that high, about 200 is what i want so i dont see that i'll have any issues, plus it's no longer defectable and thats a plus!
  12. I installed it today, it did fit, well all mount points except 1... but seems solid enough, so not to worry i guess I have to say, the car is certainly alot quieter when driving now, it made a big difference. can't hear any induction noise at all, so it sounds slower hahaha, but the noise what starting to really bug me, so i'm happy, and from what i've read, i shouldnt be losing any power hey
  13. Sweet, though wouldn't you end up with black crap all over the side of your car?
  14. Nah, it's the standard wheel. Hehe, i'll add that to the ever growing list of improvements i'd like to make to the car one-day
  15. I also noticed that when getting my skyline... its bloody annoying to be honest. I think it may be a nissan thing, my mother-in-law had a maxima, and it also behaved the same way.
  16. Cool i'll check it out this weekend
  17. I just changed the indicators myself, you wont need to take the inner guard lining off. Using your finger tips, pull the indicator towards the front of the car. It will move a few millimeters, then pull it out towards you. It will pop out. Seriously, it only takes a few seconds to do. I was surprised myself. As for the headlights, i've been searching for a good tute on how to remove them. I've heard that you need to remove the front bar to get to a bolt, but im yet to see pics.
  18. Sorry mate, pickup is definately preferred, postage is at buyers expense, and that offer is much less than i can let them go for
  19. Finally got the wheels off, here are the details: Front: 17x8 +35 (Nankang Ultrasport NS1, 215/45R17) Rear : 17x8 + 35 (Nankang Ultrasport NS2, 235/45R17) Got some more pics, showing tread size as well. Asking $800, open to offers
  20. My car didn't come with an airbox, it had a hks mushroom filter, so i couldn't say. I wanted to replace with a stock box with high-flow filter to avoid any defections I was surprised when it didn't all line up
  21. Anyone?
  22. Ah, financial reasons... that's why I ended up selling the teg If you keep looking around, you should find a decent example of a skyline. I was looking for a few months, including soarers, until i found a skyline in really good condition with low k's. Most of the skylines around were in pretty bad condition. Either the engine had been thrashed and not maintained, or the interior was filthy, or the car had body damage I ended up paying a couple of grand extra for a practically stock model in perfect condition, glad i did, except now with some mods thrown in, the car will end up costing me more than a skyline should... but hey, that's how it goes...
  23. Welcome! Though, i have to ask; why are you planning to swap to the skyline? I ask because i had an 03 Type R, and am currently driving an R33 GTS-T. Granted, it may be taking me a little while to get used to a RWD turbo 6, which is without a doubt a quicker car, but it seems to me that the integra was a more enjoyable drive. The handling was awsome, and i could depend on it absolutely in the wet. In the skyline, i have to drive like a granny when it rains unless i'm going all tokyo drift style in central bankstown... a sure way to get someones attention Don't get me wrong, i love my skyline, but I can't keep from regretting selling the type r. Marcus
  24. I was in the same situation, in Melbourne though. In VIC, the two licenses are linked, and i believe it's the same in nsw... so no car = no bike Though, for the most accurate answer, give RTA a call
