  1. How do the boost maps work? Was the chipped ECU controlling the standard boost solenoid to make 12PSI, or were you using an aftermarket boost controller?
  2. Any idea what mods the ecu was tuned with? Also, what mods were you running?
  3. It probably says "Warranty void if removed" haha
  4. Here are some shots of the wheels themselves, plus one of them on the car. Not sure how to find out the offset and width, all i could find was this sticker on one of them (all in japanese though), maybe someone knows what it means...?
  5. Will that be printed somewhere on the wheel?
  6. Hey guys, i'm thinking of upgrading my wheels. Not sure what my current ones are worth, what is the general consensus? Trying to gauge interest in these - i do know they're light as. If i can get a good price, i'll sell them and change my wheels, otherwise i'll stick with them for a while. 1 set of Super Advan Racing 2 rims All with Nankang Ultra Sport NS-2 tyres with heaps of tread ( 245/45/R17 i believe, but will confirm tonight ) Item: Set of Super Advan Racing 2 rims and Nankang ultra sport ns-2 tyres with heaps of tread. 7. Thanks for the replies guys - so theres no standard way to get this info, we need to wire something to the knock sensor... thats annoying
  8. Hey Guys, I've got a S2 R33, a consult cable, and the nisdatascan software. What i want to know is if it is possible to determine when a knock occurrs... the ecu error code can tell you that a knock DID occur, but how useful is that? Wouldn't it be better to know at what RPM the engine knocks? Is this possible to do in our cars, i mean, without the stethoscope and a keen set of ears? Cheers
  9. Hey guys, i bought an airbox from a forum member for my s2 r33, but it doesn't fit properly. the mounting bolt holes dont all line up. I can probably make a bracket for it, but i was just wondering - his car was a s1 - i wouldn't have expected them to be different, does anyone know if they are? cheers
  10. Hey guys! Would like some advice on what can be upgraded on my s2 r33 (97, 50k kms) to improve it's handling. As far as i know it's totally stock suspension, and it's a daily driver. Just wanna reduce the body roll a little, make the car feel nimbler and tighter on corners, if you know what i mean. I don't really want to lower it (i like being able to park without breaking my bumper), so i guess i'm looking at sway bars, bushes etc, but i'm pretty new to all this, so unfortunately, alot of sydneykids posts go over my head Anyway, with a budget of under 1k, how can i best invest in my cars handling? Advice much appreciated!
  11. Sorry, i tend to read things literally
  12. LOL, You could take that a few ways, and i did Here's a tip The company is not called 'Best Insurance', famous for its import insurance It wasn't a statement that the best insurance company is famously known for imports. The company is CALLED 'famous'. I'm not slow, ok?
  13. That's impressive! What is this company called?
  14. When i moved up to Sydney from Melbourne (3 years ago), i was shocked at the insurance costs up here. I had a 2003 Integra Type R. Insurance in melbourne was $500. When i moved to sydney (wiley park, which is even worse than bankstown) >$4000. When they gave me the quote, I nearly had a heart attack. So i told them thanks but no thanks, got married, sold the car and had kids. hahaha. edit: now for some actually helpful info, i was quoted about $2200 for comp insur through just car, and slightly higher for shannons (shannons wants a longer driving history - 4 years as opposed to just cars 3 years)). If you've got suspensions in your history, expect to get charged a big premium
  15. Did you guys basically say the opposite of each other or am i reading it wrong? LOL
  16. Hey guys, sorry for the minor hijack, but BATMBL isn't selling the dump/front pipes at the moment (supplier issues), so what would you guys recommend looking at next? I've looked at the JJR's split dumps, are they any good, and what's the diff b/w a split dump and a single? haha too many questions
  17. Any idea how much they weigh, compared to the original front seats?
  18. DragonForce, did you try it yet? Any success?
  19. Yeah thanks Paul! Apologies for making you type all that (for what sounds like the eleventy-billionth time - notice that number gets used a lot around here) I appreciate it heaps. The remap sounds like an excellent cost saving approach, if you're done modding the car and will not need multiple re-tunes, the pfc if you want to make adjustments in future, which would be very handy if the modding bug bites.... hmmm
  20. Gday mate, please forgive the noob question - but what's the diff between this and a standard ecu? Is it tuned for some specific mods or something?
  21. Hey mate, thanks for the link - an interesting read, and sounds very close to what i want to do to my car.
  22. Well that's the reason i raised the post initially - i wanted to know if i needed to go full blown ecu replacement, or if a piggyback would be enough. Though i thought that timing is not something that the SAFC could adjust... and i would need a PowerFC if i wanted to change timings.
  23. Hey that's pretty good... how much does a PFC tune cost in general?
